My husband and I enjoyed staying at this charming little retreat after a 1.5-week trip, and the experience was exactly what we needed. While the house is ideal for couples, we spent 90% of our time sitting outside, captivated by the lake views. What a delightful hidden gem! It's perfect when you need to escape with a special person or simply spend time alone in tranquil surroundings.
This was our third consecutive year staying at Bob's property. We are completely satisfied. This year was even better with the addition of a nice Roku television! We love the privacy and the quiet!

Thanks for the great review. It was great having you again! I'm glad that you enjoyed the TV.
We had a wonderful stay at this lake cottage. The lake views are a step outside of the door and visible from inside. It was lovely to hear the waves as we slept at night. We stayed for the 4th of July and there were a lot of close fireworks displays provided by the neighbors throughout the weekend. The property was nice and clean and we had everything we needed. The owner was very polite and helpful with checking in.
My daughter and i were hoping for a very peaceful and quiet stay. This cottage more than delivered. The sound of the lake coming onto shore was so relaxing. The views were fabulous. We both got rested and rejuvenated. Would definitely stay there again. (For a 3rd time)
We had a lovely time. The location is perfect - right on the water with kayaks, a row boat and a paddle boat to use. It's also close of tons of fun things to do in the fingerlakes. The host is very nice and check-in was easy.
We definitely enjoyed our stay on Seneca Lake. It was quiet and cozy, just what we needed for a relaxing get-away. The cottage was neat and exactly as shown in the photos; and the owner was very helpful and attentive. The local fireworks were a plus for celebrating the 4th!
We absolutely loved our stay here! The cottage was perfect for two, very clean and comfortable. Check in was great and Bob was a wonderful host. We were looking for a quiet place to disconnect from the world and this was a great place to do just that. We hope to have the opportunity to stay again soon.
Absolutely perfect spot for a quiet lake front getaway! Steps from shore, beautiful sunsets and view. Very clean & well maintained property. Will 100% book this place in the future! Perfectly located to restaurants & wineries on the East side of the lake.
The cottage is a sweet little place, perfectly situated so anything you may want to do around the lake is only a short drive away. It was clean, had all the essentials, and Bob was only a text message away if we needed anything.
This place is in such a great location- tons of great wineries and breweries minutes away! And the views are absolutely amazing. The cabin itself was very no frills, bathroom is tiny and not sure more than 2 people would have been comfortable. But we had excellent weather so spent most of the time outside, and there's a grill which was a nice bonus.

Thanks for leaving a review. I'm very glad that you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for recognizing the value of this location in an area with so many things to do. As you likely have discovered, there are not many lakeside rentals like this in this area with 100 feet of Lake Frontage, town maintained, paved road and a municipal water supply. Yes, the bathroom is small but is well maintained and the shower and flooring were upgraded last season. I strive to keep the cottage very clean and well maintained.
I hope that you will visit again.

Very nice view
I did enjoy my stay. A few hiccups with parking and could have used more towels for 5 nights. But overall very clean and enjoyed the boats that were available.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! Yes, parking is limited and the additional motorcycle that you brought did tighten the parking area. Please don't hesitate to let us know while you are here if you need anything.
We really enjoyed our Finger Lakes stay at this property. There are many great places to visit nearby and we were also able to get into Watkins Glen, Geneva, and over to Keuka Lake without much trouble. The waterfront aspect was the real winning element. We felt very private, we used the kayaks, and we built fires in the fire pit two of the nights. We did have a maintenance issue during our stay, but Bob came over immediately and made things right.

I'm happy that you enjoyed your stay. I am glad to report that the maintenance issue has been fully resolved and will not occur again. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

This is a very nice place to stay. Owners are great. Didn't have any issues with anything at the property. Very cozy, quiet, wildlife, wifi is available, easy access, close to lots of vineyards, shade tree with lawn furniture and everything you need in the retreat. Was nice there wasn't a tv. You have a perfect view of the lake from the cozy couch. Lots of mirrors so getting ready was a breeze and quick. Definitely would love to stay again.
My wife and I spent a long weekend at this place and enjoyed every minute of it. We especially liked sitting by the fire along the shoreline. The host had a variety of watercraft available to take out. The views from the shore were very pretty.
It should be noted that there is no TV. It wasn't missed, but we were surprised at it's absence.
Another amazing experience (despite a power outage)
This was our third consecutive year staying here. It is so peaceful. There was a huge storm the first evening that knocked out the power for a day. We still had an amazing time. Bob compensated us one day which was super kind. We will be back in 2025.
Everything went good and as expected. It did feel a little less private than intended with the opener living at the top of the hill over your shoulder.

I’m glad that your stay went well. I am surprised about the comment on privacy, previous guests have never expressed this concern. I do live next door to the property but always try to be very respectful of my guests’ privacy during their stay. This property has 100 feet of lake frontage that provides much more privacy than most Seneca Lake rentals.

A hidden gem, quaint, cozy with lake waterfront views
We love Seneca lake and never really get to this side of lake and usually do aB&B. This weekend we wanted something different, something of our own, relaxing-at our pace and we definitely got that!
We were greeted by Bob w a bottle of 🍷as a thank you and very impressed w the cottage, spacious enough for 2 with all up to date amenities/furnishings. From the breathtaking view, coziness, soft towels, dual coffeemaker for pot or kcups, very clean, heat/ac, roomy shower, outdoor seating to have a morning coffee or 🍷sunset... and no TV was awesome to unplug close to many winieries, breweries, places to eat.
This was an awesome time and will definitely be back -hopefully annually 🍁🍷🏠🛶 to use more of what’s offered
Thank you !!!

Snug and clean cabin for fit people
We found the snug little cabin excellently kept and clean. Cabin and the nice view are exactly as described. Swimming is a bit inconvenient, though, as there are lots of weeds, sharp mussels on the rocks and the occasional fishbone which one needs to get by. There is a dock that would perfectly do the job, but it is preserved for exclusive usage by the hosts. The hosts appear not to be used to letting guests onto their own property which is what they made us feel from the very first to the very last minute. Be prepared to be confronted with a huge unleashed dog that does exactly what he wants or to wake up to the sound of the host’s hammer on planks which made it very easy for us to leave this location.

We are glad that you found our Cottage to be well kept and clean, we strive to keep it spotless for all of our guests. We are sorry that the rest of your stay did not meet your expectations. If you had told us of these issues we would have made every attempt to improve your experience during your stay. If we had known that the overly friendly dog visiting our neighbors was bothering you, we would have addressed this immediately with them. The private family dock on the adjoining property is not part of the rental. The dock is currently under renovation and is not safe for any use at this time, especially swimmers in bare feet that might get a splinter. Beautiful Seneca Lake is a natural lake and we cannot change the condition of the lake bottom, we recommend that guests use lake shoes in the water. You would likely experience the same conditions at any cottage on this lake. If lake swimming is not what you expected, a hotel with an indoor pool might be more appropriate for future stays. Unfortunately, a hotel could not offer the lakeside living experience and the natural beauty that this location offers!

Disappointed
The location was very nice and the area was very peaceful with easy access to wine trails and state parks. However, we were disappointed and shocked in the fact that the owners took away part of our security deposit for leaving a mess on the oven which was absolutely not true because we cleaned up after ourselves. The property could have used more essentials like sugar, spices, cutting board, a bigger fridge so we can easily prepare our own meals there and maybe heavy duty cleaniing supplies if that's what they wanted us to do when departing.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions for our vacation rental. As always we welcome your concerns and comments. Our cottage is well-equipped with dishes, mixing bowls, pans and pots for cooking a variety of meals. We do not supply spices or sugar since it is impossible to anticipate what a guest would need/use and many guests prefer to use those food items that they bring.
We hope you found the cottage to be in excellent condition upon your arrival. It is our reasonable expectation that the cottage would be left in the same condition upon your departure. We were disappointed to find the condition that the cottage was left in after your stay, and this was only the second time we have been forced to charge a cleaning fee.
All four stove drip pans had burned-on food residue from cooking that boiled over, and the interior of the stove top had food residue under the burners. We also found wet pancake batter that had dripped down the front of the stove into the oven.
The damage deposit of $25 was kept to compensate for the extra two hours that was spent returning the kitchen to its previous excellent condition. We did call and discuss this with you and thought that this was a reasonable charge. We do leave a container of cleanser and several sponges in the cottage. If there had been a problem, we wished you would have said something so we could address it at the time.
Thank you for your comments - we will add a cutting board to the kitchen.

Perfect getaway on Lake Seneca!
This was my first trip to Seneca Lake and our stay at Bob and Diana's was exactly what we were looking for. The place is very clean and simple with everything we needed. Being right on the lake with the kayaks, paddleboat, row boat and beautiful sunsets made for a much needed relaxing weekend. More than any hotel could offer at that price. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and we had a nice chat with them when we arrived. I don't think we went further than a 2 mile radius since we had plenty to keep us busy that close. I do suggest the jazz brunch at Stone Cat cafe or any meal which is maybe a mile away. There was live music all weekend long at many local wineries and breweries. All in all we had a wonderful time and would love stay there again sometime soon! (I would take note to the staircase to get down to the rental. It's a doozie) I'm pretty sure every place on that area of the lake has some steep steps to get there. They didn't bother us but it may be a problem for some people. Thank you again! We had a lovely time!

Kim and Matt,
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at our cottage. Its great that you were able to sample so much of what the local area offers!
You are correct that most of the cottages have steps due to the contour of the land around the lake. Many cottages have significantly more steps than our modern, well constructed stairs.
Some others are downright challenging.
Virtually all of our guests agree that the cottage and lakefront at the bottom of the stairs is worth the trip down!
Thanks for staying with us.
