Enjoyed the stay at this nicely furnished home at the beach. Beautiful property, comfortable bedding easy access to the beach which was about an eight minute stroll or the neighborhood pool which was a five minute walk. Would stay again.

Beautiful property and location
Large 5 bedroom home was great! Close to pool, beach, and beautiful area to bike around. Especially great that the home is located in a cul-de-sac where the kids could safely play and ride bikes.

We had a great time in Kiawah. This home was really well located, close to the walking path and not far from the beach. The walking/ biking trails are phenomenal! Beach was great. The home is older, but well kept. Kitchen was a bit smaller than we expected, but met our needs. The screened porch was perfect for evening dinners.

What a Lovely Home!
It was airy and comfortable. We had our Thanksgiving dinner on the beautiful screened-in porch. The beach was just a short walk away and was quiet and there were very few people there. It felt like our own personal stretch of beach. I can't recommend this property more! - LILLIAN of DRIPPING SPRINGS, TX
There’s so much we love about Kiawah and finding a perfect home to stay at makes it even better! We stayed here for four nights with another family of four making us a total of eight. The home was ample and clean. The location was spectacular. We were able to experience all that the island has to offer, much within biking or walking distance from the home. Looking forward to coming back to this property during a warmer months because it is so easy to walk to the beach. The only thing we did not like was the 150 for us to check in two hours early. That price was incredibly high and we declined it.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Great location. Lighting in the house was either too dark or too bright. Could use dimmer switches in the dining room and kitchen. Also, while we expected to deal with bugs, having to kill cockroaches in the house almost every day was a bit much. One night, when my son turned on the lights in his room, 2 cockroaches scattered under his shorts on the floor. We had to lift his shorts and kill the roaches as they scattered away. He couldn't sleep in his room that night.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the location and appreciate your suggestions regarding the lighting—we’ll look into adding dimmer switches in key areas to improve the ambiance.
We sincerely apologize for the pest issues you encountered. While occasional sightings can occur in coastal environments, daily sightings and the experience your son had are certainly not acceptable. We’ve contacted our pest control service to perform a thorough inspection and treatment to ensure this is resolved for future guests.
We loved the property. It was so nice hearing the waves at night from the balconies.
Great experience.!! House was awesome!

Needs Improvement
This house needs a BIG makeover. Kitchen stove is so old that you can't see where the eyes are, no toaster, toaster oven was so old that the button were broken off and could not be read. We sat on the front swing the first night and the rusted iron chains broke. Fortunately we were not injured. The key left by the real estate firm was not correct and we were locked out the first day (Saturday night). They promised the correct key by Monday....end of day we called, and after much conversations learned that it was delivered to a neighbor's house. We got correct keys Tuesday morning. Oh, and then we had the hot water heater that would not work. After 3 or 4 visits over the same amount of days of trying to get it working, they finally put in a new hot water heater.

Charming cottage on the 18th hole
My husband, daughter and I just spent two lovely weeks in this house. With 5 bedrooms, it was more house than we needed but it allowed us to bring our two Samoyed dogs. The house, is on the Turtle golf course and offers obstructed views of the 18th hole. Its setting is shaded by the wooded area in which it stands and is a quick walk to the beach which is awesome and open to off leach dogs during the off season. The house was cozy and clean, well appointed and had plenty of room for a big family. It was the perfect location for the golfer in ours. We enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back in a future outing.

Nice house. The front and back porches weren't well cleaned. The grill had mold growing in it on the grates. There were dirty dishes and glasses in the cupboards. Close to the beach. Quiet road. A few things didn't work but were fixed immediately

Average property
Positives: Good location, good layout with plenty of space.
Negatives: House was not clean when we arrived, with kitchen countertops with lots of crumbs and old food. House was very dusty and didn't feel clean. One of the bathroom tubs didn't drain water at all. If you showered in there, the tub would fill up above your ankles. Woke up one night thinking the fire alarm was going off in one bathroom, turns out it was an extremely loud hissing noise coming from the bathroom pipes after a toilet was flushed. AC units did not work properly as the house would reach temps in the high 70s in the afternoon. Called mgmt co and they said it was due to heatwave (really??). During our stay, there were lots of bugs in house, including large spiders, cockroaches. We had Mgmt Co come spray and over the course of 2 weeks more and more spiders/roaches appeared inside the house. Son woke up one night with a cockroach walking on his pillow. Daughter woke up with a spider bite on her hand. Driveway for four cars. This assumes they are all compact cars and park three of them in single file, not very convenient.
Summary: This house needs a thorough cleaning, proper and regular maintenance (bathrooms and AC system) and needs bug company to come out regularly until bug situation is under control. Quit the stretch descriptions of 4 car capacity unless you are giving access to the garage (another issue, no garage access for vehicle parking).
Very nice family property with lovely screened porches.

Our group of five senior ladies had such a wonderful time on Kiawah and your special home.
Loved the location, we each had our own bedroom and the house had everything we needed. We all wanted to extend our visit, but had commitments back in Aiken SC. We will return for sure.

2016 future renters should beware
Let me start with the positives of this house ... location is perfect (short walk to the beach), the bedrooms & baths are comfortable, the kitchen is very well stocked, and we loved the 2 large dining table options! Overall the house has truly met the needs of my family. However, the Turtle Point golf course is undergoing major renovation, and this house is located on the 18th fairway. This was one of the deciding factors for us when we booked ... we were looking forward to enjoying the beautiful back porch and watching golfers. Instead, we have been subjected to being awakened at 7am by machinery and workers. They work until about 7pm and are so loud it is at times difficult to carry on a conversation when on the porch, and the noise wakes my 1 year old from his naps. In addition, the dust/dirt made the porches EXTREMELY dirty. Both screened in porches are our favorite places but they desperately need to be cleaned by the cleaning crew every time they come during the course construction. Unfortunately, our toddler gets so dirty crawling around on the porch that we have to do laundry often (luckily the washer and dryer were replaced during our stay - after the washer broke.) We did share this with Sweetgrass but they did not send anyone to clean, as of yet, during our stay.
Last, but not least, my greatest disappointment was that Sweetgrass rental properties did not take it upon themselves to disclose the golf course renovations to us before we arrived. Had they disclosed this, we would have gladly worked with them to find another rental property for our 2 weeks. We were all very much looking forward to the quiet Kiawah that we have grown accustomed to since we started coming here in 1990. Not disclosing this has left a very sour taste for all 7 adults.
I can only assume that after the golf course construction is complete in October 2016, that this place would be as lovely as we had truly imagined it would be. Until that time, I would not recommend this rental.

Great Spot for Island Getaway
We had a great stay at this wonderful property and would absolutely recommend it to any family or group looking for a nice and modern (yet affordable) island home. We had a group of 10 people (5 couples) that fit perfectly in the 5BR house that includes great outdoor spaces as well on both the main level (screened in porch) and master bedroom (balcony overseeing golf course). The house is situated in the Kiawah Island Resort property, which is perfect for people looking to work in a few rounds of golf or just relax at the lovely home. Shops and restaurants are about a 10-15 minute drive, which we found convenient.
Sweetgrass was also a pleasure to deal with, providing us with all the information we needed in advance of arrival and helping with all of our questions. At one point we learned that a number of properties on the island were flooded from a recent storm, but Sweetgrass promptly informed us that ours was safe!
Overall was extremely pleased with our stay!
