Funky and fun family escape on the shores of Lake Champlain in Alburgh VT. Golf, restaurants, and fun things to do within a few minutes drive from the camp. This has been our family retreat for years and we have recently remodeled it. If you're into funky wallpaper and you're not afraid of the Golden Girls being on your bedroom wall then you'll love our space. This is our first year renting our beloved family camp and we expect folks to treat it with the same respect as they do their own home.
We're located with a southwest view on Lake Champlain. The sunsets are killer. We have a dock that reaches out about 60 feet onto the lake with a small platform to chill out with a couple of chairs at the end. The water is usually very clear in our spot and our kids and their friends love swimming. The water depth is usually about 3-4 feet deep in the early summer, but gets shallower as the summer wears on. The further out you go, the deeper the water gets, but it doesn't drop off until about 100 yards out.
Further out from the dock, about 100 yards, there is a drop off into deeper water and the fishing is some of the best on the lake. In the mornings and evenings you will see sport fishing boats hanging out and pulling in some lunkers!
Once the summer is in full swing, we have a ton of reeds that grow in the area off our break wall. At first, we didn't like this but then we realized that they provide excellent cover for water fowl like geese and ducks. We also see a bunch of turtles and other marine life. We have several duck families enjoying the shelter of the reeds all year. This natural filter also is part of the reason why the water quality is nice. Our dock is placed on the left side of our break wall so you're not sitting over the ecologically important reeds.
Our camp includes: 1 King Bedroom 1 Queen Bedroom 1 Bunk room with two twin beds on bottom and one queen above it. The queen above could only accomodate 1 small child if necessary. A large TV in the living room and a TV in the bunk room for when the kids need to chill. A screen porch which is an amazing place to read a book or take a nap. An expansive deck with a table for 6, a grill, and rocking chairs. A HUGE yard for lawn games. A rowboat with oars for use for fishing. (bring your own gear) A Paddle board Window AC units in each bedroom and one that cools the kitchen and living area. Various life jackets and fun things in an outdoor storage box.
Our kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to feed the family. Pots, pans, serving dishes, etc. We have a gas range and a dishwasher. We have a washer and dryer on site, though we prefer to dry our stuff on the clothesline in the breeze.
We provide linens and towels for use during your stay, but we will ask that you strip the beds and load the washer before you roll out.
We provide a rules and information book in the kitchen that you will want to make sure to reference.

The property was just as nice as the photos. We had a great stay. We went paddling/rowing every day and had a perfect sunset view from the dock. Mike was a responsive host. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfy, good outdoor seating options, and quiet neighbors.
We were so honored to be the first guests to stay at this charming lakehouse! This was our family's first time visiting Lake Champlain, and upon pulling up to the house and instantly seeing the view from the lake, we knew we made the right decision. The house offers some modern improvements that coexist with some older quirks, and the layout and amenities made for a comfortable stay for our family of 5 (two adults, three kids 8 and younger). If you're looking for things to do, the house is stocked with many family-friendly games and connected to streaming services, but don't miss the opportunity to take one of the kayaks on the water for a peaceful excursion on Lake Champlain. We kayaked, we fished, we saw birds galore, and beautiful sunsets. Nearby, there are some great creemee places, vineyards and wine tastings within 30 min, and restaurants and food stands, which meant we were never without happy bellies. But we equally enjoyed cooking at home and relaxing lakeside. An hour from Montreal, you could also make the trip across the border for an easy day trip (we did Montreal before coming to the house, and indeed it was an easy drive). This property has so many advantages: beautiful views, serenity, and comfort, with access to more bustling activities. Thank you so much, Mike!
