Magical secluded location with fantastic view

We had never stayed on Kuaui before and I lucked out when picking this VRBO. I had no idea that it would be so secluded, so well appointed, so comfortable, and set in such a beautiful location.

Highly recommend, went above and beyond expectations!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed for roughly a week at a property on Kauai with the wife with intentions to have both a secluded/remote get away and quite place for business conference calls/meetings while away.Upon arrival, unfortunately we found the property was under construction. Construction (landscape only, not structural) was obviously unexpected and urgent due to unforeseen conditions so was not at the owners or Hawaii Life Rentals fault though was still upsetting. I will add we were notified a few days prior to arrival of this so it was NOT completely unexpected, the contractor just did not properly provide anyone notice of the extent of work to be completed.Anyways with all that said, what was amazing is Hawaii Life went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure we were satisfied many ways, primarily by staying in communication to help quickly/professionally get this corrected.Besides this small issue (again not at all their fault) the property/view/service/quality and much more were unbelievable. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND and unquestionably will be my top choice for corporate retreats or family vacations next when visiting Hawaii.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The red flag should have been when I began to see replies from the management that the house was due for a renovation in Nov. We had already booked it when I began to see those replies. I booked it because it has a washing/dryer, and an out door shower, which my husband loves. We arrived needing to wash clothes and of course a note on the washer said "out of order". 5 nights without being able to wash towels or linen or clothes was very frustrating. We washed clothes in the kitchen sink after having to purchase a stopper for the sink. They did offer to refund $250, which I have not seen yet, but appreciate that. The entire house is in bad shape. We never used the outdoor shower, because the sliding door from the bed room and the one from the bathroom would not open. Most of the sliding doors would not open or were very difficult to open. We worried about breaking them, so we did not force them to open. A light switch cover fell off. A piece of molding on the bathroom door fell off. The grill was nasty looking. We didn't dare use the outdoor sauna. I will say the kitchen and everything in the house was clean, it was just over all it was very run down and it is hard to enjoy paying $5700 for five nights when a place is in that kind of shape.

Perfect for intimate couple's getaway.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a very private properry with beautiful views and a great location for a perfect intimate setting. Previous reviews mentioned the AC not working in the bedroom and when we arrived, it was very warm, but we put the floor fan at the entry so cool air blew in from the front of the house which fixed the problem. The closet space is also lacking so pack only real compaint was a stray cat hanging around the house and I'm allergic to cats so it was a nuisance. We later found out prior occupants have been feeding the cat and we were not made aware of this ahead of time.

Beachhouse in the sky

Magical place to spend our honeymoon. Private. Beautiful walks down to Secrets beach. My only recommendation would be to add AC unit to bedroom. Hot tub is great. My wife loved the visiting cat to which she named Oscar. Beautiful sunsets sitting on outside recliners

Secluded....but not away from everything.

Great location if you are looking for some some seclusion but only a mile away from Kilauea. Cute 1 bedroom house with a secluded beach about a 5 minute walk/climb. Highly recommended if you want to get away from all the resorts.

Perfect Getaway!

We stayed at this property for a week in April, and it was a really perfect getaway for us! (But maybe not for everybody) The property is a quaint little cottage that has a beautiful of the north side of the island and ocean with beautiful sunsets. For us, it was a perfect place to walk down to the beach, as there is private access to the beach albeit poorly marked. But that was part of the charm too - walking down wrong paths to find our way but eventually we go there and it was a glorious, very quiet and serene beach with VERY FEW people! The cottage itself was very well appointed - everything we needed to make a couple of nice dinners. There was no issue with check-in, it was clean, quiet, and just generally a really amazing place to relax and unwind. Some of the doors in the house were hard to latch but after a little struggle we did get them locked. My only complaint was through the concierge process - I sent a couple of emails requesting help with bookings but never got a response so I booked them myself. The only other thing I would say - while I really LOVED this property, it was pretty far removed from some of the major attractions and there was a lot of driving required to do much of anything - but that worked for us!! Thanks for helping us have an amazing vacation!!

TRIP OF A LIFETIME!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hale Lani was my most favorite place I've ever stayed in Kauai. It's private, romantic, beautiful and peaceful! Short walk to a gorgeous beach - short bike ride into town. The bed is super comfy - the shower and hot tub are a dream - the outside tiki torches are super fun. The staff was lovely and professional. ** a very tiny few negatives - the place does show wear and tear for this price - a bit rough around the edges. Could use a new stovetop and some minor repairs. The toaster oven is unnecessary - takes up so much space - a small toaster would be lovely. Beware there are lots of spiders OUTSIDE (easy to brush away) and lots of duck poop :) And it could really use some new patio furniture. BUT NONE Of those things would ever keep me away!

Fabulous property but could use a few improvements

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights from 11/30 to 12/6. This was for our 10 year anniversary and definitely a step up from what we normally book or can afford, but it was a special occasion. The property is breathtaking! The most beautiful views we have ever seen, and a short walk down a private bath to secrets beach. We loved the little town that is nearby and had everything we needed from groceries to coffee. It is also one of the few spots on the island that the Nene birds hang out (you won't see them on the East and South sides). We also learned that Ben Stiller’s property is VERY close by on the bluff to the Northwest. We enjoyed stopping to talk to the horses and goats that are nearby the property. This is away from the hustle and bustle of Kapa'a and Lihue, but not a bad drive to get there. Now, for the list of things that could be improved. 1.1. The Spa - For whatever strange reason, the plug for the spa is DIRECTLY below it. The water level is kept very high because of the jets, and when you get in, water is displaced. That displaced water goes right over the side and onto the plug, which trips the GFI. This happenned our first night nd we were not able to try again for two days until it dried out. Then we had to wait for it to come back up to temp. We actually spoke to the spa service man who was there who also agreed it was terrible. This really should be fixed as it is a safety issue. HAving the spa is an awesome feature, but worthless if it can't be used 2. There are tiki torches on the property which are beautiful at night, but all were empty. We had to pay to buy new canisters and fuel. Also, the citronella candles were empty, we also purchsed. I understand that these are additional items to add to the ambiance, but if you are going to offer them, please keep them stocked 3. Communication - there are 5 notices about how to contact the host. I messaged them several times abut our flight delay, a broken umbrella, etc. and never got a single response. 4. the garderner - We had booked an in home massage for 8 am. At around 8:15, the gardners came and were leaf blowing RIGHT NEXT TO OUR HOUSE. I understand they need to do their job, but take a hint. You have two people lying face down, move to another piece f the property for the time being. It was very invasive of privacy. OUr massage therapists hd to shoo them away. It would also be nice for mgmt to advise us when they are coming so activiites can be planned around that.

Relaxing but needs an interior refresh

Reviewer Comments: The photos matched or exceeded the views!Although the cottage was comfortable and mostly in working order—it needs to berefreshed and updated as the interior was tired-lioking in person. I did bring this to Hawaii Life’s attention and was advised that they would relay my comments to the new owner.We were outside mostly so it didn’t bother us tremendously and the bed was comfortable. My suggestion is to lower the price or stop renting it until the refresh is accomplished.

The ideal romantic vacation spot!

My wife and I could not believe how excellent this place was. Super private, breathtaking view, beach access, and gorgeous home. By far the best vacation rental I’ve ever had. Definitely an easy 5 stars!
