About this property
Charming 3-bedroom cottage on Halfmoon Lake in Alton with Dock, Beach, WiFi, AC
The Loon Nest is waiting for you at this charming 3-bedroom water-front cottage with a dock and beach in a family friendly setting on Halfmoon Lake. With 1 king bed and 4 twin beds, sleeps 6 (does not sleep 8), this cozy retreat offers a soothing atmosphere for guests to relax. Enjoy the new kitchen, deck, heating, AC, WiFi, gas grill, 3 kayaks (shared with property owners who live right down the road), and washer and dryer during your stay. Linens and towels are provided.
The 283 acre Lake is spring fed with large and small mouth bass, horned pout, and perch. We take pride in our 2 resident loons and occasional babies. Alton Bay is 7 miles, Wolfeboro 16, Laconia 19 and Concord 24.
Please note that a separate dock has a Float Plane that is shared with the property and is used by 2 pilots. During high winds the plane might be tied down close to shore. Boats can be brought and tied on the left side of the dock. There are two boat launches on the lake. Please inquire if you would like to go for a Float Plane ride and share the expenses during your stay. The plane dock is off limits to guests.
The depth at end of dock is less than 4 feet.
This property is licensed and inspected for Short Term Rental with the Town of Alton and registered with the State of NH. Don’t let your vacation be ruined by staying somewhere unlicensed. NH License #105602 and Alton STR License #2025-001
We hope you enjoy what our place and Alton has to offer.

About the host
Hosted by Richard Dame

The Loon Nest has been in the family since the 1960's where I have spent every summer swimming and fishing. I currently reside 4 cottages away and enjoy the lake and flying the float plane.
What makes this property unique
You'll be staying in a very friendly neighborhood where cottages have been in family generations for years. The lake is great for fishing, water skiing, swimming, paddle boarding and other water sports. The Loon Nest is close to Lake Winnipesaukee if you want to explore the surrounding towns. There are many restaurants within a short drive. Mount Major in Alton is also a popular hiking mountain over looking Lake Winnipesaukee
