(LGB) Long Beach Airport - (15 minutes from property)
(SNA) Orange County Airport is (30 minutes from property)
(LAX) Los Angeles Inter. Airport (35 minutes from property - shuttle to car rental locations)


Timewise, LGB is much easier getting 'in and out' of than LAX as it's much smaller and very close to our cottage. SNA (also known as John Wayne Airport) is also a smaller airport and located in Orange County. Timeframes can vary depending on time of day and current traffic conditions.

Please place all used bath or beach towels in the bathtub. No need to strip beds as housekeeping bags each room individually.
Place the garage door opener on kitchen table.
Be sure to double check each room to ensure your personal belongings are not left behind prior to your departure, (chargers, cell phone, wallet, slippers, etc.).
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
For all unforeseen events that may occur, travel/cancellation insurance is highly recommended! Our policy will not be altered.

Amazing property in a great location. The garden was beautiful and so well kept. The beach was a 10 minute walk and lots of shops and restaurants just around the corner. We would definitely return if we came back to LA.

Perfection in Belmont Shore!

We absolutely loved everything about this beautiful cottage. It's right off Second Street, so getting to shops and restaurants was a breeze, and the beach was about a 10-minute walk. Kelly has poured her heart into this home and garden space, and it shows! The back patio is a dream garden, and the interior is a fabulous mix of antiques and beach vibe. Kelly made sure that we had everything we needed, and even left vases of fresh cut flowers in every room, straight from the yard.

Great stay family with young children

Our stay at Kelly’s home in Belmont Shore was absolutely fantastic! We have stayed at 7-8 VRBO homes and Kelly was absolutely great. From communication, information on the area, cleanliness, overall just felt like home and was super welcoming. While I can see this area being a great spot for adults (bars, restaurants) nearby, we really enjoyed it with our two kids (3,5). You can walk to a kid friendly beach, visited the Long Beach aquarium, Knott’s Berry Farm, as well as plenty of other things a close drive away. Again property was comfy, clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely recommend to family and friends and plan to go back in the future. If you are interested in visiting this area you can’t go wrong with this home!

Great Home

Home was perfect for our 4 day stay to compete in a BBQ competition. Our smoker fit perfect in the garage and kept all our gear safe once we were done and it was time to relax. We would definitely book this home again.

I felt the property interior had a high esthetic and was technically up to date with USB charging stations, The beds were comfortable, plenty of seating in the living room and eating area. It was a nice walk to the beach and it was very close to a mile or so of restaurants. The outside seating area was nice. I felt the property was reasonably priced.

Beautifully appointed charming home with perfect hostess/owner!

This three bedroom home is beautifully decorated and so comfortable with 3 different outdoor spaces to enjoy the sunny weather. We loved being one block from the main avenue with many shopping and eating opportunities. Kelly was always available for any questions we had and even left us some yummy treats and drinks to give us a head start on our vacation. She is a great hostess and went above and beyond any previous experiences I've had with VRBO properties.

Excellent all the way around

Our family of four (including 2 adult children) stayed for two weeks over the Christmas holidays. It is a perfect location and convenient to so many things to do, places to eat and several grocery stores. The side yard and front patio outdoor spaces are fantastic too. It is a quiet street but yet so close to the beach, walking/bike paths and 2nd St. which has so many great restaurants. Kelly had excellent communications - she is the perfect hostess. Would not hesitate to stay again!

Perfect Stay

We stayed here about 2 weekends ago and it was perfect for our family group, my husband & me, our adult kids & spouses. It was close by to local family & walking distance to all the shops, restaurants & bars of 2nd street. There is a cute little backyard area, which we didn't get to use as the weather was pretty cold & rainy but it is lovely. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Kelly is a superb communicator and very responsive to any questions we had. Will definitely try staying again the next time we are in the area!

Great property

The location is superb, a short walk to the beach and just a few steps out the front door to restaurants, craft beers, coffee, and dessert! The back patio is private with a beautiful array of plants and hummingbird attracting flowers-so enjoyable just watching them buzz around. The kitchen has just what you need to cook up a fabulous meal-we enjoyed steaks on the grill with some good wine! Our host checked on us to ensure we had what we needed for a memorable stay! The Cottage by the Sea would be a repeat for my family.

This is a gem of a property. Classic Belmont Shore bungalow. Amenities are great, nice quality master bed (King size). Comfortable living. Backyard redesign is wonderful. Evening wine on the front porch and people watching is great. We cooked most of the time but also ate out in the Shore. Morning walks on the beach are wonderful. Very convenient. One of the best places to rent in the shore. Love it.

2nd Avenue Perfection

We stayed four days and it was perfect. A half block from second where the stores, bars and restaurants are. Easy to walk to beach or anywhere really. The home was perfectly set up and even the small garage was great so you do not need to street parking. The outdoor spaces where wonderful to sit in, both front and back. Kelly was a great host always available for questions and tips. Very patient with all my questions. The book with restaurants was extremely nice but a part of me thinks you can’t go wrong with food in Long Beach.

Charming Property!

My husband and I, both native Californians and CSULB grads return to Belmont Shore each year to visit with family and friends, and this is one of our new favorite discoveries! The home provided ample space for our party of 6. It was nicely decorated, contained comfortable furnishings (including comfy beds!), and the courtyard was absolutely dreamy. (my teenage daughter called it "magical.") We spent most of our time there! The home is well located, just steps from 2nd...and yet surprisingly insulated from the noise (and we were there over a weekend). Kelly couldn't be more hospitable, offering helpful info before and during our stay. All-in-all, a 5-star experience! We hope to return!

A perfect stay!

We had a great experience at this Belmont Shore property! Kelly was very responsive before and during our stay. The check in/check out instructions were very clear and the house was pristine when we arrived. The location was perfect! 2nd Street has a lot of great restaurants and it was only a 10 min walk to the beach. Also, despite being so close to 2nd Street, it was very quiet at night, even on a Saturday. The only thing we struggled with was parking on Saturday evening which Kelly made us aware of in advance. We had to rent a large SUV for the 6 of us so we weren't able to fit it into the garage. Parking was pretty easy to find the other days and the back alleyway made loading/unloading fast. We will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Magical cottage retreat

This adorable house is beautifully curated. The attention to detail is amazing and we felt like there was something really special in every space. It truly feels like a home away from home and has a magical garden area as well. The backyard space is so awesome with gorgeous lighting and great outdoor furniture to enjoy! The inside beds are to die for. Everyone raved about how they felt like they were sleeping on clouds:) I’ve rented a lot of homes and this one is really special. You have everything you need and delicious restaurants all within walking distance too. The single car garage fit a full size Hyundai Sonata sedan with no issue. The owner Kelly is just wonderful🌸She’s explained everything in easy to understand detail and is incredibly responsive to anything you may have questions about. What a pleasure it was to stay at her beautiful home! We hope to be back soon!

Beautiful and Relaxing Getaway!!

I usually don’t take the time to write reviews, however I worried about this property because it was a “new listing”.  As soon as we walked through the front door we were relieved and thrilled!   This place was very nice, well decorated and spotless.   From the pictures I saw, I had expected it to be smaller. All of the rooms were pretty spacious except for the “powder room” in the master. It wasn’t very big but it was all we really needed. There were four people in our group (two couples) so we only used the queen and master bedrooms. The owner answered every question I had prior to booking this cottage and was very helpful describing things a little more clearly. We received our deposit as promised.   Overall, GREAT HOUSE – GREAT LOCATION.  We are already making plans to return for a short Christmas trip.

A cute house in a great location.

I have stayed in the area several times. I will share the good and the things that could possibly be improved. The location is great, right by 2nd street and the beach. The backyard is super cute. The things I would improve are things like only having one wash cloth for 6 days and 5 people. I also would have liked either a Keurig or programmable coffee pot. The other thing to note is none of the bedroom doors have locks and to enter the master bedroom you must either go outside or walk through someone else’s bedroom. There isn’t really any privacy in any of the bedrooms, as they are all close together. We did appreciate Kelly’s communication and having a small garage was nice to avoid having to move a car for street sweeping. The home is decorated very nicely too. Overall the stay was nice, there were just a few minor inconveniences.

We had an amazing stay at Madison De Fleurs. The house and gardens are beautiful and peaceful. We had our meals outside on the rear patio which was quiet and relaxing. The chefs kitchen had everything needed for a gourmet meal. Hostess Kelly was great to work with and immediately responded to questions about the house and the area. Belmont Shores is a delightful area for foodies and music lovers. The beach is an easy ten minute walk as well.

Absolutely gorgeous, a real escape with spacious and comfortable living area and great kitchen. The bedrooms provided a real sanctuary with good quality bed linen and room for the family. The garden is a real treat. Cannot recommend the house or the location enough. Walking distance to beach and restaurants. Loved it.

It's my hope you enjoy the property as I do! Just a few houses off 2nd street, you won't run out of new and interesting things to do. This cottage is in the best location if you desire close proximity to great beaches, restaurants, bakeries, pubs to include Alamitos Bay and Yacht Club! Enjoy sitting on one of the local 2nd street benches just to people watch or take a short stroll up the street and walk along the beach with 'waves', the bay (it's calm and great for younger kids) or the boardwalk to watch the sunset. Be sure to check out the 'location tab' to see just how great the location is. Enjoy the advantage of having the ability to take a short walk to just about everywhere!

Why they chose this property

Once you've arrived, you'll appreciate the private back and side yard as well as the gated front yard. Your proximity to banks, dry cleaners, drug store, post office, massage, salon, etc. is all within walking distance - minutes away. It's also fun to rent a bike and ride along the bayside or the boardwalk along the ocean. If you're a coffee drinker and don't feel like making a pot at 'home' - there are several coffee houses a few minutes to the left of the property . . . or a 10 minute walk to the right!

What makes this property unique

Enjoy all that the 'Shore' has to offer without ever needing to get behind the wheel. The weather here on Southern California's coast is wonderful. As three sides of Belmont Shores is "hugged" by water, you're sure to enjoy this seaside community. You also might enjoy the 'Farmer's Market' situated in the parking lot near the bay, this market is a great way to spend a Sunday morning. Grab what you need for the week, or . . . head across the lot to the weekly Art and Craft fair - both are held at East Marina Drive south of East 2nd Street.

Although the listing indicates through VRBO a "firm" cancellation policy, after signing the Standard Rental Contract I want you to be aware that I understand emergencies can happen. If you have the need to cancel your reservation, I'll reopen those dates making every effort to rebook them. If I'm able to rerent your dates, you'll be refunded for those dates less a $100 cancellation fee as well as the service fee VRBO retains.
