As listed, quiet, comfortable space. Check in and check out was easy, communication with host/ess was great. Close to MO State and great location for all things Springfield. Vintage / historic space with some nice upgrades. We enjoyed our stay.
Charming Cottage is a perfect description of this rental. We were in the area to visit several State and National Park Sites and these accommodations fit nicely with our theme. The cottage is unique, comfortable and nicely decorated. We loved that it was on a large, quiet piece of property, and we enjoyed the many birds that made themselves home there. The bed was very comfy and Michael was very responsive. We were pleased with our choice to stay here.
This cozy cottage is my favorite & only place I'll stay in Springfield!! This is my 2nd experience & everything is always wonderful!! The property is private, quiet, and ideal for a base of operations to visit the area!! I will be back a third time. Brian
This cottage was such a treat in the middle of a big city. Property is as advertised and Michael was very responsive. Would highly recommend for anyone.
My stay at this cottage was great! The property is quiet and loved watching the birds and other wildlife walk through! Michael and Ally were great hosts and checked in to make sure I had everything that I needed, and was prompt to reply when I had questions! Thank you Michael and Ally!
Quiet neighborhood! Cute little cottage that was perfect for our needs. Michael and Ally were great hosts and answered my questions promptly. Appliances were fairly new and clean. We will stay again when I’m in Springfield.
What a gem! Quiet with green space and privacy while within the city. The cottage was clean, comfortable and everything that we were hoping for while visiting the area. Our host was very responsive and brought over an item we inquired about almost immediately with an added bonus of tomatoes from his garden. We will definitely stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Everything about the stay was perfect. I had some malfunctions with tv but eventually was fixed and wasn’t that big of deal. I’m from California and I Celebrated my daughter’s 1st birthday with my husband. The place is sooooooo cute. Super vintage . Everything you need a/c, secluded, full kitchen to cook and store meals, comfy bed. Lots of walking room for our 2 year old. A plus that there was a washer and dryer to wash my babies clothes. It was pretty rad. I wouldn’t mind moving in to that place with my family and paying rent . It’s like your in the forest but still in city. Host was very attenative .
I chose this property for its location, I sold my home and needed something for 20 nights. I’ve lived in Springfield for 30 years and never realized this property was behind the fence I’ve driven past many times…I don’t think this is an ideal home for a long term stay, since there were no closets… I had to purchase a clothing rack to hang my clothes…but having the washer and dryer was a plus! Wi-Fi was hit and miss, so if you need a place with great internet, you might think about how important it is to you. The bed was very firm, not comfy… The air conditioning was great! Communication with the owner was extraordinary! There was an issue with an unwanted critter, but they were quick to help resolve this issue… this home is very old with a lot of character, so one of the windows and one of the doors leaked during a heavy rain…There are different levels/steps within the home space, so if you need one level, this is not the right place for you. Overall, it was quiet with deer, an owl and lots of green space. The neighbors on the same property were quiet…

Thank you for your review and feed back, We want to continue to improve and make our country cottage better and better. We will be putting up closet clothing racks and address the window that let rain in,( that storm was one of the strongest, like straight line winds, that caused the leak), we are changing internet providers after you mentioned the internet so it will have fast speeds for all future guest, the bed is firm and for those who like firm mattresses it is nice! thank you for mentioning the deer and owls and nature setting, this is what we love most of this home setting and the quiet. We always welcome suggestions , they help us continue to improve the enjoyment of all future guest.
Sincerely
Michael & Ally
The property grounds are spacious and quiet. The building is older, so there are strange steps throughout it. The layout is also unique. The bedroom is fantastic and included a functional desk. I was able to work there very comfortably. I did not use the TV or futon, but they were clean and well-placed. The kitchen was decently stocked with staple items. Below are my pros and cons.PROS: cleanliness. Serenity. Space. Host communication. East of check-in/out. Placement and location of trash cans was excellent:). WiFi signal was strong.CONS: NO dishwasher. I am used to having one on the road and it threw me off. The wash sink is very large to accommodate a good dishwashing. NO bowls in the kitchen. NO dressers for clothing. There was a storage rack to hang clothes, but I did not have a place for underwear and socks. BATHROOM: vanity is small. Shower was not to my liking. The water pressure is excellent, but the curtain is awkward. You have to wash sideways so as not to press into the shower curtain. The CONS are quirks that I prefer, and make the property unique. I have only good things to say about both the property and its owners. I would definitely recommend a stay here. It was close to work for me and was very reasonably priced.Thank you Michael and Ally!
