About the host

Host profile image
Hello and welcome! My name is Chatchai, but around town, everyone calls me Cici—a name I chose so people could easily remember and connect with me.

I was born and raised in Thailand, where I earned a law degree and built a rich career path—managing five pharmacy branches, organizing concerts and events, working in construction, and selling at local markets. From a young age, I’ve always worked hard, supported myself, and followed new opportunities with an open heart.

I came to the U.S. during the pandemic, originally to pursue business—but this small town, Skowhegan, quickly felt like home. The people here welcomed me with warmth, and I’ve grown to love this place just like my hometown in Thailand.

Today, I own a Thai restaurant downtown and run a food truck. Most recently, I renovated this beautiful old Victorian home with my own two hands. I transformed it room by room—carefully preserving its original charm, while adding comfort, elegance, and a quiet, timeless style.

As a young host, I believe in the power of kindness, humility, and respect. I value clean design, calm energy, and meaningful details. My hope is for every guest to feel truly at ease—as if you’re staying not just in a rental, but in the home of a friend.

The price may be slightly above average, but I deeply believe that every guest will feel the difference—in warmth, in quality, and in the care behind every corner.

The room is on the second floor and accessible by stairs. This 140+ year-old home may have some charming creaky floors. The bathroom is private, clean, and well-maintained. Smoking is not allowed inside the house. There’s no washer on-site, but a laundromat is just 5 minutes away. The home is conveniently located near shops and a shopping mall.

Why they chose this property

I chose this neighborhood because it’s peaceful, safe, and full of character. It’s close to downtown Skowhegan, yet quiet and surrounded by trees. I love how friendly the local community is — neighbors wave hello, and everything feels warm and welcoming. It’s the perfect blend of charm and convenience.

What makes this property unique

What makes The Red Door Retreat truly unique is the personal touch in every detail. The space is thoughtfully decorated in a cozy, minimalist style that blends vintage charm with modern comfort. Guests are welcomed with complimentary drinks, including water, soda, and Starbucks coffee.

The home was lovingly restored and designed by the host herself, with care and creativity. It’s not just a place to stay — it feels like a home. Our co-host Ruby also brings warm, multilingual hospitality, ensuring every guest feels cared for.

Many guests say they’re surprised to find such quality, beauty, and peace in a small town like Skowhegan — and we love that.
