Apple Hill a Charming Village Farmhouse in Beautiful Corea Harbor

Stay at Apple Hill, a charming 100+ year-old farmhouse in historic Corea Village. Thoughtfully restored and renovated in 2026, the home blends modern comforts with original details and vintage Maine character.

Nestled beneath a grand apple tree and just a 3-minute walk to the harbor, enjoy lobster boats, fresh seafood, quiet coves, and the beauty of Maine’s rugged coastline. Formerly home to generations of lobstermen, Apple Hill has been part of our family for over 30 years.

The three second-floor bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated and include a queen bed, double bed, and two twin beds. Linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are provided. A full bathroom with tub and shower is also located upstairs.

The first floor features an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area with exposed beams and a cozy gas stove/fireplace. The well-equipped kitchen opens to the side patio. The rustic den, a converted barn space with cathedral ceilings and exposed beams, offers a Smart TV and comfortable gathering space. A half bath and laundry area are also located on the first floor.

Enjoy morning coffee on the patio, evenings around the gas fire pit, and Maine’s incredible star-filled skies. A charcoal grill is available for outdoor cooking.

Corea with our dog

We loved this little lobster fishing village and were so happy to find a pet friendly home to stay in. Carol was so fantastic with her communication and we so appreciated her responsiveness to all our questions. Corea and Schoodic Point is a magical place

We just ended our stay at Apple Hill and truly enjoyed ourselves. The house provided all we needed.

Corea is the place where my husband and his family made many happy vacation memories 40 years ago. We chose Apple Hill for its' rustic charm and great location. It provided all we needed to make new memoirs with our own family. We felt very comfortable there. The scenery and peacefulness are amazing. It's within walking distance to beautiful beaches, the wharf with its yummy lobster rolls , ice cream and pie, and the co-op where you can purchase fresh caught lobsters for a delicious meal. Walking out to Cranberry Point and later to the "secret beach" were memorable activities. It's just a short drive to Acadia and more beautiful scenery. We ventured into Winter Harbor for lunch at J.M. Gerrish's and fell in love with the blueberry pie! The Prospect Harbor Soap Company is also a recommended stop. Apple Hill takes you back to a time when life was simpler and you could sit back and relax.

The stay was fine. We appreciated the flexibility of the hosts

The cabin was further from Acadia than we expected. It was listed as being close but was over an hour away.

Quaint house

We were 4 women enjoying our first trip to Maine. We loved the quaint, authentic look and feel of this cottage. The pictures accurately show the house. Liked the area. Nearby Birch Harbor has a good market as well as The Pickled Wrinkle for eating out. Also near Winter Harbor. Stop for lunch at J M Gerrish. Yummy If you want modern and flashy go elsewhere. If you want a bit of history and quaintness, this is the house for you

Magical stay in Corea

Apple Hill was our home base for a family vacation to Acadia. The village is a very special place. The house is rustic but had everything we needed and Carol and Jack were responsive hosts. We particularly enjoyed the "secret beach" and the lunch stand across the street.

Peaceful and Relaxing

A very quaint place to stay. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful and rustic. The Co Op was wonderful and just a hop skip and a jump away from us. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Third time’s a charm

We had a great stay in Corea, our third at Apple Hill over the past several years. Carol and Jack are responsive hosts and a pleasure to work with. We will surely return.

Family getaway to see Acadia

The house is in the lovely village of Corea- which is so quiet and peaceful. We loved exploring the Schoodic side of Acadia and easyto jump on a ferry to see other regions. House was charming and cozy. Only wish we could stay longer- would love to return!

Cute but needs help

We had a wonderful stay at the “Apple Hill” house. The neighborhood was just what we needed. Friendly neighbors and the lobster co-op was AMAZING. House itself was cluttered with nicknacks and broken furniture. It really needs some work. It has sooo much potential.

Just lovely

We were looking for simple and comfortable in a peaceful and beautiful area, and we got it. This old creaky house (charming but old!) was very comfortable and had everything we needed if you looked hard enough. It’s a peaceful and scenic area with lovely walks, bike rides, and hanging out.

Could be really charming...

This is a quaint little house in a beautiful, very quiet area of Maine. The house could be charming, but it needs some updating. Bathrooms, kitchen and floors had been cleaned, so we had no problem with the cleanliness, but rugs and curtains were badly stained and need to be replaced. A stair on the staircase to the second floor was broken and repaired with packing tape. Flyers and brochures from many years past were piled in every room. The house has lot of knickknacks on every surface, which makes it feel uninviting. Also, the clutter makes it hard for the cleaners to clean it efficiently. We found someone's eyeglasses, a cottage cheese container with someone's beach treasures, and a headband that were all left behind by others. You can tell the house has a lot of history, and I'm guessing that the family would like to preserve it by renting it. I hope they manage to keep it, but it needs a little refreshing and some decluttering to make it a suitable rental property.

A bit of real Maine

We had lovely stay in this homey cottage in the charming fishing village of Corea. We felt right at home and part of the neighborhood. We walked to the lobster co-op each afternoon to get two fresh lobsters to cook for dinner, walked to the secret beach and watched the wild turkeys walk about the village. Perfect!

Quaint cottage in a cove

We very much enjoyed our stay in Corea. The house has a perfect Maine rustic feel and is located in a sleepy cove - across the street from a picturesque cove and a less than 5 minute walk down to the wharf where you can enjoy a fresh lobster lunch.

Wonderful Area

The house is very homey and on a quiet street. Well stocked. Great walking area away from crowds and traffic. Take a walk at night. The stars are amazing. You can walk/drive to the end of the street and get lobsters fresh off the boat. This was my 2nd stay at this house and it was even better than the first. It’s about an hour drive to Acadia.

Great spot and a good space

We've been going up to Acadia and the environs for years but were looking for something a little off the beaten path this time. This place was a great alternative - in the center of the small village with beaches nearby and plenty of space for four and a dog. We enjoyed eating at the lobster shack on the dock nearby, and going over to the Schoodic section of Acadia - which was much quieter than the main section. The place is an historic house, which means don't expect all the modern amenities when you go there, but you do get to enjoy the character of the house. My main suggestion for improvement would be with respect to the outdoor space - there was really nowhere comfortable to eat outside for more than 1 or 2 people. Owners were very responsive. Would stay there again.

Sweet Cottage

We had a lovely time in this homey, comfortable home filled with light and all things Maine. A water filter with reusable water bottles is a good idea if you're not used to the taste of the water and you like to recycle (there's no recycling right now in the town). Walking around the town and harbor is peaceful. Give yourself about an hour to get to Bar Harbor or Mt. Desert Island, but do remember to also visit the nearby Acadia's Schoodic area.

Beautiful and unusual setting on Maine Coast

We had a wonderful four days in mid-November exploring the Schoodic Peninsula. This antique house was a great base. The hosts were very responsive, and the house was well-outfitted, with a propane stove that warmed the mornings.

A perfect get away

Loved the wood burning stove in living room. Very cozy with a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of Wine in the evening. Not too far from Acadia National Park. And, there were plenty of local hiking paths. The one to the beach just a few steps from your door was a real treat. Owners super responsive.

Quiet & Peaceful Getaway

We had a lovely stay, enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the view of the cove with all the lobster boats. Charming, rustic and perfect for a weekend getaway. We cooked each night and had all the amenities needed. Cozy stove in living room made cooler fall mornings more enjoyable. We spent most of our days exploring the Schoodic Peninsula and it was a short drive to the park. Stunningly beautiful area and nowhere near as busy as Mt. Desert Island.
