Great well stocked cabin on a bluff over the river. Close to town but very quiet, easy access to area parks, rivers, scenic drives and more.I had a minor glitch on the vrbo side, but Laura was quick to respond and help me through it.Great all around!

It’s great to hear you were able to take advantage of the parks, river, and scenic drives. I also appreciate your patience with the Vrbo glitch, and I’m happy I could help get things sorted quickly for you. Key word is rustic. Perfect getaway cabin for the family. Reminded me of our mountain cabin in Utah. Easy access to the river, loved the bunkhouse for the boys, clean overall (it’s a cabin), nice big deck in the back, modern washer and dryer, nice big screen, plenty of space for a large family. Only downside was the ants around the sink and cupboard. Again, it’s a cabin

Thank you for your thoughtful review! I’m so glad you and your family enjoyed the rustic charm of the cabin—it really is meant to be that kind of getaway, and I love that it reminded you of your mountain cabin in Utah. It’s great to hear the bunkhouse, deck, and space worked well for your group. I also really appreciate you letting us know right away about the ants. Thanks to your quick communication, we were able to have an exterminator out within 24 hours to take care of it. We’ve also since set up a routine treatment schedule to help prevent this going forward. We’d love to host you and your family again anytime—thanks again for staying with us!

Loved how it’s tucked away behind trees for the privacy. Very open living room to fit a lot of family. Beds were very comfortable. Deck out back was huge and amazing to enjoy.

The location was great. It would have been great if the water level was higher but that is beyond our control We did wish the fireplace had been inspected so we could have used it.

It was an okay experience overall. Frankly, we expected much more from this place, especially considering the high price we paid. The kitchen was very outdated and poorly equipped. The pans and pots were overly used, some even rusty, and many of the utensils were in bad shape and difficult to use. The place it self was nice, quiet and cozy. It didn’t blow my mind though.

Thank you for your feedback. We have replaced the pots and pans, replaced all outdoor ceiling fans, remodeled the half bathroom and a few remodel touches in the kitchen.

Bella Vista Frio River

We were 10 people. One family of 5 stayed in the bunkhouse, one family upstairs and 1 couple downstairs. We had plenty of room and it was comfortable. There was good water in the river. It is a quiet and peaceful location. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

We really enjoyed our stay here! My family wanted to explore Garner State Park, and this was a great option that was about twelve minutes away. It was a great place to retreat to after a full day of hiking! One of the bedrooms (the one with the angled ceiling) is a loft style, and my niece adored it! She could watch My Little Pony on the big living room tv from the comfort of her bed while the adults played games at the kitchen table below. It was great for our needs! The living room itself was great - plenty of couches, pillows, and blankets were available, and the smart tv suited our needs just fine - able to log into youtube and netflix with no issue. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals - two fridges, plenty of cutlery, plates, and cups. There was a crockpot, toaster oven, regular toaster, and plenty of miscellaneous cooking tools (potato peeler, potato masher, cooking scissors, etc). The main bathroom (the one featured in the pictures), works great. What both bathrooms lack in counter space, they make up for with hooks! There is a bounty of them - plenty for both towels and hanging toiletry bags, and I love that the main shower had a rack and two shelves for toiletry storage; that was really nice. The bunkhouse (the bedroom with bunkbeds) is about 20 feet in front of the house - this was great for those who needed more quiet! Loved the abundance of hooks everywhere, and how responsive the host was!

The exterior and interior were absolutely stunning! The inside was vey cozy, and the outside had a scenic view of the river out back, especially during sunrise and sunset. Even at night, the sky there were things to do like having bonfire and looking at constellations. My children and their cousins had so much fun here; they wanted to stay for more days!

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad you and your family enjoyed both the home and the river views—sunrise and sunset really are something special there. It’s wonderful to hear the kids had such a great time and made the most of the outdoor space (bonfires and stargazing are some of our favorites too!). We truly appreciate you choosing to stay with us and would love to welcome you all back anytime for another getaway!
