About this property

The Safe Harbor Home (Retreat, Nature, Quiet)

Just a short (18 min) drive from Lancaster City, this minimalist, Japandi-inspired home is one-of-a-kind in the area. Quiet and calming, this retreat rests at the end of a private road in a historic little village, nestled right up against the local forest. Throw all your worries away while reading a book or going for a local hike in the surrounding countryside.
Perfect for couples, travelling professionals, small families, or anyone looking to retreat from the business of life.

The Conestoga Retreat is a newly-renovated home, with gleaming hardwood floors, a new kitchen, bathroom, and refreshed bedrooms.

The dining room: has a 6-person dining table set, a ready-to-use liquor cabinet and bartender kit.

The kitchen: fully stocked kitchen with pot, pans, cooking utensils, eating utensils, spices, coffee, sugar, tea, Keurig, tea kettle, microwave, toaster, and more.

The living room: A couch, reading chair, plenty of books, a 43" TV (not pictured), gas fireplace (not currently in working order), and beautiful peaceful light during the daytime.

Bedroom 1: queen bed
Bedroom 2: queen bed
Bedroom 3: twin bed
Bathroom: stocked with towels, soap, and shower supplies.

Laundry room: located in the basement. Complimentary laundry detergent and fabric softener provided. Dryer is expected to be emptied of lint after every load.

Outside: front porch with table and two comfortable Adirondack chairs. Fire pit in the back yard with four Adirondack chairs.

Kayaking: the Conestoga River is right across the road from the village, a one minute drive. If you enjoy kayaking, this is the place for you! It's easy to launch from Safe Harbor Park, and from the Conestoga, you can easily go to the Susquehanna River, which it pours into. If you have a boat, the Pequea Boat Launch is just 10 minutes away. All areas of the house are accessible. Any excess supplies are strictly off-limits to guests unless permission is given to the guest.

While I won't be there in person, I am just a phone call away and can drive to the property if needed for emergencies or other concerns.

The home is located in a historic "hamlet" called Safe Harbor Village, built in the 1930s. The neighborhood is extremely peaceful and quiet. There are sidewalks all throughout the village, walking trails in the nearby forest, and a local park across the street. Both vehicular and pedestrian traffic is minimal.

The driveway is shared by two houses, but there is a spot for parking next to the garage (pictured). The garage can fit a car, but nothing larger than a sedan. If you have more than two cars please reach out for directions on where to park.

Cellular connection: Depending on your provider, you may have little to no cell service in the village where the home is located. Verizon customers usually experience more issues here than AT&T or T-mobile.
Extras: iron and board, pack n play (stocked in closet in bedroom 1.
Complimentary firewood is available upon request.
- If bringing a pet, please be sure to pay the necessary pet fee. Unauthorized pets will incur a $300 fine.

Everything was great. Comfy beds and nice kitchen with all the cookware you need. The yard is nice and big with plenty of deer roaming the property. I would definitely stay again.
