About this property

Fully restored 1872 house in historic Port Townsend.

The Phillips House was built in 1872 and is listed on the Port Townsend Historic Register. The 2,500 sq ft home has been completely renovated, including a new kitchen. There is a master bedroom and bath downstairs and two bedrooms and a bath with a soaking tub upstairs. There is plenty of room for entertaining in the formal dining room and views from the sitting room allow guests to see the sun rise over Mount Rainier and the Cascade Mountains. The sitting room also looks over the Port Townsend waterfront. The library, with television, can double as an extra bedroom.
Enjoy coffee on the deck or use the barbeque for outdoor dining. The summers are gorgeous in Port Townsend.
The house is ideally located in uptown Port Townsend, 2 blocks from the local bakery, grocery store and farmer’s market as well as great restaurants and the historic Uptown Theater. Downtown is a mere 3 blocks and a set of steps to the Haller Fountain – the gathering place on the Port Townsend waterfront. The Rose Theater, numerous art galleries, boutiques, cafes and fine restaurants, the marina and the center of many festivals are minutes away – by foot.

Stephen and Deborah Moriarty raised their family and live on the Olympic Peninsula. They are avid gardeners and hikers and enjoyed working with a contractor to renovate the Phillips House.
The Moriarty's love to travel and use VRBO wherever they go.

Why they chose this property

Port Townsend is a wonderful place to visit. There are always festivals and shows and many fine restaurants and cozy coffee houses. The Phillips House is a taste of the colorful history of Port Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula and we would like to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

The Phillips House is in uptown Port Townsend with sweeping views of Port Townsend Bay. There is nothing more wonderful than watching the sailboat races on Sundays, unless of course you are in them, or the sun rise over Mount Rainier. These are the views from the many windows overlooking the waterfront. The house was changed little, except for the addition of a workable kitchen, during the renovation. It still holds all the charm and style from the time it was built by Mr. Phillips in 1872.
