The place was clean and tidy and even has a mini fridge available. The location is great. There is a bus line one block away and the BART is an easy walk.

What a sweet gem in the heart of the Civic Center area of San Francisco! The Inn at the Opera is a lovely 1920's hotel, with friendly staff, and unbelievably quiet and comfortable rooms. It's in a great location for me-a bit outside the usual touristy areas, and just a couple of blocks away for exploring all the shops, bakeries and restaurants on and near Hayes Street. It's a very short walk to and from the BART station, but If you like walking (and I do) you can walk about 20 minutes and be at Union Square and many other sites. Check-in was easy, there is 24/7 staff on-hand, and even though the building does not have air conditioning, the fan above my bed kept the room temperature nice and cool. I will definitely come back again!
