My parents and my husband and I stayed here on a recent trip to Shenandoah National Park. The house was sparkly clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor spaces were a real treat-we could sit outside in the afternoons after we got back and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Everything was well organized and very comfortable. Ellen is an excellent and thoughtful host.
Great place to get away from hussle and bussle. Set back off the roads in the woods, easy access, close to town (10-20 min). We enjoyed our quiet stay here, house was fully equipped. Owner was responsive and in touch if we needed them. Plenty of room for us to hang out and spread out if we wanted to.
We visited a few wineries, antique shops, playgrounds, Meems Bottom Bridge, Rt 11 Chip Factory, and other things. Grocery stores within 20 minutes (Wal-Mart in Luray or Food Lion in Elkton).
We came for a few days to take kids to Massanutten. House was great! Owner was very helpful. Only recommendation would be to upgrade cable/satellite. No ESPN during bowl season makes for unhappy football fans.
Plenty of room (7 total for one of the nights) and nice outdoor space. Took many walks through the woods. We kept the fire pit going the whole weekend. We brought in food and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and serve a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Such a beautiful area of the country.
The property was a wonderful home set back from the road in the edge of the woods. It was very well kept, extremely well stocked & both comfortable & quiet. We found some interesting towns close by with some very good places to eat. It was a truely great place & a relaxing experience!
Ellen is an amazing hostess. It was a five star experience in a beautiful location. The house is secluded yet close to everything. It was undoubtedly the best stocked kitchen. We hope to return with our families.
We love the property. It was everything that was listed and more. The home is well stocked with any supply you could need. Communication with the owner was excellent and met every expectation we had. The home is not too far from the things we wanted to do and yet felt like it was a cabin in the woods to ourselves. We would stay again.
The cabin is tucked away so it’s location offers privacy and quite. It is well stocked and maintained. Check in/out was very easy and we received a response to any request. We enjoyed staying at the cabin and it offered a nice getaway on a long weekend.
The scenery and the towns and being Memorial weekend the people had so much spirit and parades ,car shows and lots of stuff going on ..the house is in a great location to lots of things to do i will rent again and the host was pleasent to make sure you have everything ...
Spacious, clean and equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay away from home. The owner was very accommodating to our needs, and communicated well. Many thanks!
The property comes highly rated and we were not disappointed. It felt like home and the seclusion of the property added to the peaceful setting we enjoyed. Whether enjoying breakfast in the morning sunlight or watching TV at the end of the day we were always comfortable with all the conveniences of home. Would definitely use this property again.
Property was clean and we liked that it was situated off the main road. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was fairly close, The Luray Caverns, Civil War Battle Field and Museum. Just tons to do and the property just made our stay that much better.
A lovely setting in the river valley, set back from the road with woods and open space all around. It has a wonderfully stocked kitchen and good space for the four of us to be together while each having our own privacy as well
This house was exactly as described on VRBO + more! My wife and I stayed for a week while visiting Shenandoah Park, and the location + privacy were perfect. The county where this house is at was great for scenery + the house location is tucked back among the trees which worked well (especially for coffee in the morning on the front porch!). It was basically a 20 minute drive to any location (our main location was the national park, but could also find a large grocery store within that same range). My wife and I usually take semi-yearly vacation trips going to a different place each time, but this is a house and location were we'd both be happy to go back again in the future!
This property was perfect. Tucked away, peaceful and quiet!!! It had everything we needed. So roomy with lots of comfy spaces to hang out and visit. We loved it!
Thoughtful accommodations made by the property owners and beautiful views within just a short walk. The home was more than enough to accommodate the trip our group had planned. Amazing host and amazing property!
Peacefull and relaxing. Very comfortable and felt like home!
Has everything you need plus more, will be a memory that my family will cherish always. Walking through the woods to grilling on the deck. Has a awesome wrap around deck that was so relaxing and we spent alot of time there. Plenty of room inside and out and is furnished great

About the host

My husband and I visit this area often and find this place to be relaxing. The people in this area are extremely nice and always wave hello.
Why they chose this property
We chose to purchase this home because it is attached to family land. This rental property gets its name from this very transaction. We are the third couple in our family to own this lovely property.
What makes this property unique
This property is surrounded by the Blue Ridge and the Massanutten Mountains. The views in this area are amazing and the property itself is peaceful and relaxing. I love visiting Luray, Va., just 10 minutes up the road to walk main street and enjoy all of the antique shops.
