About this property
Claude's Key Club Butchertown and Salon/Spa
Step into Claude’s Key Club, a bold tribute to my great-grandfather Claude, a Prohibition-era legend who ran whiskey by motorcycle through the streets of Louisville. This one-of-a-kind property sleeps 24 guests across 4 uniquely styled units—each with its own kitchen—and includes 5 full bathrooms. Perfect for large groups, retreats, and unforgettable weekends, this hidden gem blends history, style, and a dash of rebellion right in the heart of the city.
The Space:
The Legend of Claude’s Key Club
Tucked away in the heart of Louisville’s Butchertown neighborhood , Claude’s Key Club isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a living tribute to a man who lived boldly in a time when courage came in bottles and whispers.
In the thick of Prohibition, Claude was more than a local character. He was a motorcycle-riding rebel with a taste for good bourbon and better company. While the city kept its doors shut and bottles hidden, Claude found freedom on two wheels — running fine Kentucky whiskey through winding country roads under the cover of night.
His most trusted clients and friends knew to watch for the glint of his key — a worn, brass skeleton key that signaled the way to a secret gathering place where laughter flowed as freely as the contraband. That hidden parlor became known as Claude’s Key Club, a haven for dreamers, drifters, and daring souls.
Today, Claude’s Key Club honors his spirit. Four luxurious suites, sleeping up to 24 guests, each with its own story to tell. Vintage-inspired decor, prohibition-era touches, and subtle nods to the man behind the legend. Whether you’re raising a glass in his honor or unlocking your own adventure, you’re part of the club now.
Welcome to Claude’s. Access granted.
