This resort complex in the heart of old Destin is a tropical oasis within walking distance of the city's most popular attractions, restaurants, and shopping. The on-site amenities, including exercise and fitness centers, three adult pools and one kiddie pool, a Jacuzzi, tennis courts, grills, and restaurants on the property may entice you to stay close to your unit for the majority of your stay. Of course, the biggest advantage that Pelican Beach Resort properties have is their location- right on the sugar white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.

This charming unit sleeps six comfortably in two bedrooms and on a sleeper sofa. The unit packs plenty of amenities into 1,100 square feet. The cozy kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals and snacks for your family. Furnished with both a dining room table and a breakfast bar, you can comfortably spread out to enjoy your meals. The living room, equipped with a flat-screen TV and a queen sleeper sofa, opens to a large balcony, giving everyone a little more living space and a great view of the beach. Decorated for maximum tropical appeal, the master bedroom, with a king-sized bed and private bath boasts a balcony with a view of the inlets of Holiday Isle. The second, smaller bedroom also has a beach view. Both bedrooms have televisions.

Located on the beach, the resort offers guest plenty of amenities, including beach chair and umbrella rentals, kayak and body board rentals, and a game room. During the season, there are two restaurants, including the beachfront Tiki Bar available for guests. Pelican Beach is close to the heart of Destin and within walking distance of your favorite restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed our stay, the condo was at a great location, had a nice beach and amenities. The condo could use some updating and a new pull out couch, was very uncomfortable to sleep on or even sit on to watch TV. Overall a good experience.

The stars for this propert didn’t reprint what we received…when I reviewed it only had like 3.6 stars and spoke of old /few things hung…but it has been renovated and all drawers were filled many many pots pans dishes abundance of(kitchen stuff) I rate it a 4.8(only thing not redone we’re the showers )

First trip to Destin

Our stay was great! The condo was the perfect size for 3 adults and 2 kids. The rooms were tight but we didn’t stay in the condo much so it was doable. The pools were spacious. Downfall, the dolphin pool shades over around 1-2 pm (this was early June) and the big pool on the gulf side closes at dusk. There are only 4 elevators for all 20 floors, we didn’t wait long for rides which was great! The main road was a nightmare. Very busy and tough to get out on. You almost always have to go right and then do a U-turn which could take 10 minutes for a break in traffic to be able to turn. However within driving distance there are tons of restaurants in both directions. We would come back to Destin but would stay somewhere closer to Navarre Beach or harbor walk village due to traffic. Otherwise the condo was perfect for our first trip!

I have been to Destin my entire life this is not the worst condo I have stayed in however it NEEDS upgrades for the price we pay it needs to be upgraded. I entered several tickets fo assistance all of which were tended to very quickly. I was impressed by 5star management. The unit was filthy. Dust on the ceiling& floors under the couch (only noticed b/c my son slept on sleeper sofa) broken doors broken drawers mattresses horribly uncomfortable you can FEEL springs! Replace them our backs hurt after a week on that! Also not enough beach that's not the owners fault but you will be jammed packed fighting for a spot if u like to sit near the water. Or pay $30 a day for chair set up and sweat away from water. Great job to management, not so great unit and beach overcrowded.. will move on this is our first and last time at Pelican Beach.

DO NOT book this unit

Everything in the unit is as low quality as it gets. Resort is great. Unit is not. We had a clogged kitchen sink holding water for 3 of the 7 days. Folding closet door fell on my child. Was reported broken upon check in and took 3 days as well to fix. Late check in as room was not clean in time. Had to change batteries in all remotes. 1 of 3 tvs worked for half the trip. The battery in the door code panel died and we were locked out of our room for just under and hour. It was a 45 minute wait to get through to the management company. The resort maintenance will not touch the room because it is managed by an outside company. I had to bribe the maintenance worker with cash to change the battery to get in to get my child’s medicine because I could not get a representative. Do yourself a favor and book at the resort, just find a different unit. The price that is charged isn’t even close to the experience you will receive. The room is a bigger motel 6 or days inn quality. It is not somewhere you want to stay for more than a night traveling through.

I do feel your concern is more directed to the building/HOA itself or the geographical location of the complex and how much beachfront space the building has. Girls trip

We had a teenager, adult, and a senior. It was a perfect location and met the needs for all ages. It was very conveniently located in the center of all the activities in Destin. The beach was beautiful and we were able to rent chairs and an umbrella. However, this resort is very busy so you are very close to others at the beach. The condo was nice however was slightly outdated. The bathrooms weren’t very clean either. The shower curtains had mold on them. Neither bedroom TVs worked. However, it met the needs for us as we weren’t in the condo too much.

Do not stay there! That resort has too many rules! You can’t even see the beach because the resort takes 6 rows of tents and chairs you can not sit upfront for longer then 30 min! And you ca t smoke but 2 smoking area. Very inconvenient! Awful resort will not go back!

We understand it’s busy season but to be told we could not rent an umbrella until October was ridiculous since we are here now, June. Was told they didn’t have anything and we couldn’t move our beach chairs to the water if we didn’t have young children in the water! WTH!? We paid as much as everyone else. 5 rows of beach chairs and umbrellas, some unused most of day. Actual security sitting on beach with rules in hand! Told me to go to public beach may be better! Unreal. We weren’t informed of only renting online. Master bed wood frame bolts come loose. Nice room just too many rules.
