About this property
Black Hills Forest Edge Cabin
Our getaway cabin in the Central Black Hills is perfect for those who are looking for a quiet base for their Black Hills vacation. Very accessible location, the roads to the cabin are all paved, except the last one-tenth of a mile, which is nicely-graded gravel.
Panoramic views of the hills and forest from all rooms of the cabin. Main floor has one bedroom (1 full bed), one bathroom, living/dining area, a full kitchen, and covered deck. Large loft has sleeping area (1 queen bed and 1 full bed) and TV/DVD. Unfinished basement has a ping-pong table. Elderly and wheelchair friendly, with zero steps to get from your vehicle to the main floor. Our cabin is a place for the family to unplug, with limited cell service and no internet.
Start your day with a lovely breakfast on the large deck, with just the murmuring sounds of the nearby ponderosa trees. Spend an adventure-filled day in the Black Hills or simply laze around the cabin and meander through the backyard forest.
The major attractions of the Black Hills - Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake - are just 30 minutes away. Jewel Cave is one hour away. For shopping and dining, Hill City is 15 minutes away. The village of Rochford and the ghost town of Mystic are 30 minutes away. Fishing, boating, and hiking at Deerfield Lake are just four miles away. For those who love to take in the gorgeous Black Hills, while burning calories, we have mountain bikes available free for your use. From the cabin, pedal three miles on a rough country road and you'll reach the Mickelson Trail, the best rails-to-trails in the West.
Come and enjoy the Black Hills from our forest's edge cabin!
