About this property
1910 Whimsical 6 bedroom, 2 bath, great porch, fireplace, spacious , near skiing
Please read: This is a wonderful country house with unique and fun furnishings - but it is a country house:) Which means that from Fall to early Spring you may see random ladybugs on a window or the corner of a ceiling. And if you have a dog and they run on the property, there is a chance of getting a tick. Common sense, as it is the country, but some renters don't realize the aspects pf country life. Now you may read on:) Thank you. Very close to 3 skiing areas.

About the host
Hosted by Paul Adams

Born and raised in Midwest from a large family and currently live in NYC and Catskill, NY. I have run a non profit theatre company for the last 28 years and have my own apt cleaning business. I wrote and performed a one man show about apt cleaning last year in the NY Fringe Festival. I recently completed a new musical play about Doris Day called Doris Day: My Secret Love which I am seeking women producers to bring it to Broadway.
Why they chose this property
I bought this home in 1999 as an escape from the city. I wanted a place that was quiet and somewhat secluded, but also a short drive to civilization. And I have always had an affinity for fun vintage and retro furnishings. Many of the beds and dressers came with the house. A few years back when I was putting up ceiling fans in the bedrooms, I decided to see what was under the old sheet rock. I discovered the original wood siding that covered the ceilings and walls and exposed it. It is a house that to me is an inviting and relaxing place to come and revive and just one night's sleep is rejuvenating. And a nice sit on the porch with the view of the surround of trees and the chatter of birds can act as a stress reliever. I also have a fenced in 5000 square foot organic vegetable garden with 50 beds.
What makes this property unique
The reason I bought this house was when I walked out on the porch and saw the lovely arc of trees that enclose the property. And the essence of quiet that permeates the house if no one speaks. And on chilly nights, sitting and watching the fire crackle and glow provides an entertainment unmatched by any tv. And who doesn't prefer waking to the sound of birds instead of traffic.
