We’re Ben and Sam Visser. We’ve been married since early 2025 and enjoy working on art and house projects together. Our latest endeavor is making Ben’s previous home a VRBO! We’ve loved his home and are excited to share it with others. When we’re not working on projects, we love playing games, trying new cookbook recipes, and checking out local ice cream shops!
What makes this property unique
Located across the street from train tracks, this quaint house is a great home base for a fun-filled weekend in Ames! It is a corner property 5 blocks from Brookside Park and a 10-minute walk to Hilton Coliseum. The 768 sq ft home has a full kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, two bedrooms, a front porch, and a back patio area.
A majority of the property has been updated in the last 6 years, including a brand new front porch, a kitchen remodel, newly finished wood flooring in the bedrooms, a full bathroom renovation, a new sliding back door and patio, among other cosmetic changes.
The summer of 2024 brought new landscaping that is now full of native plants with a nice walking path from the front porch to the back patio. While the garage will not be available for use, there is free parking available in the driveway and on the roads surrounding the home.
Each bedroom has a queen bed and a closet, with the bathroom in between the two rooms. The living room has a sofa bed with a queen-size mattress.
Guests will have full access to the main level of the home. The garage and basement will not be available to guests, but will be unoccupied and not in use when guests are present at the house.
