We absolutely loved our stay at High Rock Hideout. Only 5 of us slept in the house, and we had 10 people total for Thanksgiving dinner. The dining table fit everyone comfortably, which was perfect since our nearby relatives don’t have space for our group. The location worked well for our family of 3 from Atlanta and my in-laws from Myrtle Beach, and it was an easy drive to other relatives in the Greensboro/High Point area. The setting is beautiful. It was too cold to enjoy the lake this time, but we’re already planning a return summer trip. The owners really thought of everything. There were charging ports everywhere, plenty of spices and condiments, nice dishes for a crowd, emergency lights, and a first aid kit. We loved having the extra fridge in the basement since we brought most of our Thanksgiving meal prepared and needed the space. The mud room with a desk was a quiet spot for work, though it gets a little chilly in winter. We had plenty of room with five people, and seven would still be comfortable. There’s also a full bathroom downstairs. The pullout couch in the living room worked great when we were all playing games. The small Christmas tree was perfect for our “Thanksmas” gift exchange and made the night feel special. We think we’ve found our new Thanksgiving spot and a great weekend getaway. My family can't wait to come back enjoy the kayaks and fishing. The only thing that could make it better is a hot tub on the screened porch!
