About this property
Lake Michigan Beachfront and Spectacular Sunset Views!
This rustic cottage is two miles North of Manistee, Michigan on a low bluff overlooking the beautiful Lake Michigan. Sit on the lakeside deck and watch the spectacular sunsets or build a campfire in the pit as you watch the spectacular display of the stars overhead. Grill your favorite meals and eat outside on the spacious side deck at the picnic table, or use the fully equipped kitchen and eat inside with a great view of Lake Michigan. The cottage has TV/VCR/DVD, two bedrooms, one full bath, and sleeps six to eight.
Enjoy Manistee, the Victorian Port City 2 miles away, with historical buildings (some with tours) and Victorian homes, Little River Casino, Lighthouse and pier, SS Milwaukee historical steamship, two city beaches, marinas, Charter fishing or fishing off the pier, public boat launches, even airplane rides. Walk the 1.75 mile Riverwalk along the Manistee River, and view a 700 foot freighter carefully navigating the Manistee River channel.
There are restaurants, shopping, numerous concerts, movies at the newly renovated Vogue Theater, and live theater at the historic Ramsdell Theater. Many fine golf courses including the renowned Manistee National, Arcadia Bluffs, and Manistee Country Club. Canoe and kayak the Manistee River. Swimming, boating and fishing on Lake Michigan. Hike the Manistee National Forest, Orchard Beach State Park, Lake Bluff Audubon Society, and the dunes at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Bike on picturesque country roads. Visit the world renowned Interlochen Arts Academy and National Music Camp as well as the Leelenau Peninsula Wineries.
Try your luck at the Little River Casino nearby or enjoy a great show there. Close to great shopping, antique shops, fine restaurants, many area festivals including the National Forest Festival July 4th week, the Port City Festival in early September. Visit the Hitching Post, the best year-round Christmas Store in Western Michigan. Take a sightseeing airplane ride at Manistee Blacker Airport nearby. Catch the world-famous Scottville Clown Band or a free jazz or music concert. About 45 minutes to the renowned Interlochen Arts Academy and National Music Camp, with performances daily (many are free).
Visit the fascinating Manistee County Historical Museum on River Street, and the Water Works Building museum on First Street. See an 1880's dentist's office and drug store. Find out what a logging wheel is. (It was invented in Manistee). There are free Jazz Concerts at the Rotary Gazebo on First Street beach each week, and free concerts Wednesday nights at the Victorian Gazebo on the riverfront. The Little River Casino has concerts from famous groups and artists (previous schedules included Chubby Checker, Wynonna Judd, Eddie Money and others), and it has a variety of restaurants. The Ramsdell Theater has excellent live plays and concerts, and the adjoining Manistee Art Institute has excellent exhibitions. Most Manistee restaurants have an all-you-can-eat fish fry dinner on Fridays.
Cottage has a spacious large bedroom which has both a double bed and bunk beds, as well as a game table area with a large selection of adult and family board games, a CD/tape/radio player, and a Casio piano keyboard. Great room living area has a double bed sleeper sofa. Private smaller bedroom has a queen-size bed.
In the bathroom behind wooden folding doors on the left are a full-size washer and dryer, as well as linen and towel cabinets. With the doors closed, you do not see them. Fiberglass tub/shower on the right, hidden in photo.
