About this property
Cozy One Bedroom Cabin overlooking St Joe Bay on Cape San Blas
Escape to “Old Florida Charm” in this cozy one bedroom studio cottage that overlooks the beautiful St. Joe Bay. This tiny little cabin is steeped in history. It stands at the site of a historic Civil War bombardment of a Confederate Salt Works and is nestled in the woods with beautiful palm trees, palmettos and abounding wildlife such as bears, raccoons and bobcats. This cabin is perfect for anyone who loves the old-Florida feel, history, kayaking, fishing, scalloping, biking, wildlife, nature or relaxing. The Lookout cabin is a one-room, studio home that is elevated on pilings and overlooks the beautiful St. Joe Bay. This cabin is best suited for two people but could fit a third or two small kids. There is one queen bed and a futon that lays down to a full size. There is a single bathroom with a standup shower within the studio and an outside shower located downstairs with both hot/cold water. The kitchen is conveniently equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing beach getaway. (Keurig coffee maker as well as a drip coffee maker, blender, air fryer, crockpot, microwave, toaster oven and stove (there is no oven.) There is a charcoal grill for you to use (charcoal not provided). Please do not use the grill under the house. Make sure to move it to a safe location and dispose of the used charcoal safely. This is "Old Florida" at its best. This is not your typical "beach" cottage. It is a nature lovers dream. The St Joe Bay is known for its abundant and diverse marine life such as spotted seatrout, redfish, flounder as well as other marine creatures such as seahorses, sea turtles, starfish, horseshoe crabs and scallops. This makes it a popular spot for snorkeling, diving and fishing. There is community access to the bay within walking distance where you are free to launch kayaks or just enjoy the shallow waters of the bay. There is an old rustic dock but we ask that you do not use that due to it's condition. If you do use it then that is at your own risk and owners will not be responsible. You can easily access the bay from the water's edge. You will have private access to the entire house. There is ample space for parking on the property including space to park your boat or kayaks. Please park within the wooden fence and please do not park on the main dirt road that leads to the other cabins on the property. Fur-family: We allow dogs (Maximum of 2). No cats. Please do not allow dogs on the furniture or beds. Please clean up after your pet. We hope you love our tiny little cottage as much as we do. We fell in love with this area over 35 years ago and we finally found our little piece of paradise and love that it still has that old Florida feel… just like it did 35 years ago. Make yourself at home and enjoy!!!
