Tom was super easy to work with. House is clean and in great condition. Stayed here with twin grandsons so the bunk bed was a bonus. Snacks upon arrival, Plenty of toiletries and towels. Everything we needed. Location is great -close to Balboa Park.
Great place to stay. Such a cute bungalow. Clean and well appointed with an easy drive to the San Diego Zoo. The host was so helpful and accommodating. Love the plants! Will stay again.
Our little family loved this house. Very clean and welcoming, and incredibly well-appointed. Had everything we needed AND everything we forgot. Would definitely stay here again.
We absolutely LOVED this place! Everything was perfect. This place is adorable, comfy, quiet, and safe. The plants are absolutely beautiful, in fact they inspired me to have more greenery in my home. We would stay here again 1000 times. It had absolutely everything we needed and more. I cannot see enough positive things about this stay! Thank you so much!!
We loved our stay. The house was super clean and had everything you could possibly need. The plants were so beautiful and had such a great vibe. The host was very nice and even helped set up a dog crate for us. Great location. We would definitely stay again
We LOVED the plants! The place looked just like the listing. Clean and inviting. Owner was friendly and communicative. Would definitely stay here again next time we’re in town!
The Urban Greenhouse is lovely. The host includes thoughtful touches, like phone and computer cables next to the bed, a fully-functioning kitchen with everything needed to cook, and even the option for free-range (and colorful) eggs. The neighborhood is very quiet. We will definitely stay here again.
The stay was perfect! Very comfortable with great attention to detail. Tom was a perfect host as he prepared for our stay, communicated well, and created a cozy place for us to stay. Oh then there was the best shower ever! Enjoy
The urban greenhouse was a perfect stay for our family. We felt at home with all the cozy features and we absolutely loved the plants everywhere. The home was at the center of all the amazing places SD has to offer. Thanks for an amazing getaway!
The property looks exactly like the picture. The moment you walked into the house, you see plants everywhere. Even in the bathroom there were plants above the shower. Almost felt like a jungle. But in a good way. The backyard had a nice little sitting area with a fountain where you can relax and listen to sound of the water coming out. The bed in the master bedroom was a bit too firm and the pillows not very comfortable for my liking. There was a doggy bed for your fur baby in the master bedroom. Which was really nice. The kitchen had all the necessary cookware. The second bedroom had a bunk bed where our child slept. She had no complaints. The house is nearby the freeway, grocery stores, restaurants, a park, and the zoo. Communication with the host was great. Would definitely stay in the future again.
Tom's Urban Greenhouse was absolutely perfect. The check-in process was simple, the house was extremely clean and the ambience with all the plants was beautiful. We were there for four nights and didn't have one complaint. I'm glad we decided to stay here, as opposed to a hotel. We were able to experience a very cool San Diego neighborhood.
This was one of the best lodging experiences we’ve had. Tom’s home had everything we need and we felt so at home. There were so many thoughtfulness he put into the home. The location, walk ability, and neighborhood overall were amazing. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful house with nice touches throughout for guests. We were delighted during our time spent at the Urban Greenhouse. Great location for visiting San Diego, close to Balboa Park & San Diego Zoo. Appreciated having a car charger to charge each night after a day of exploring.
Great communication from Tom. The house is beautiful and super clean! Great, quiet little neighborhood. The backyard sitting area is a tropical delight, and even has a water feature which is a nice touch. Loved our stay and will for sure book again!
We were in town for a wedding and the Urban Greenhouse was perfect for our small family and Labrador. The plants are amazing and perfectly maintained by Tom, the owner who was very pleasant and accommodating to us. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend this charming cottage in Northpark!

About the host
Hosted by Tom Perry
Hi, I’m Tom! I’m an environmental consultant and avid outdoorsman originally from Pennsylvania. Growing up, I had the best of both worlds. My dad would take me hiking all the time with Scouts and my mom, a horticulturalist, had the most amazing collection of plants. I spent my childhood helping out in greenhouses and outside, exploring the beautiful green landscape of our family farm. I’ve incorporated my passion for plants and nature into my home. I hope you’ll enjoy it -and San Diego- as much as I do.
Why they chose this property
I have moved around metro San Diego for 8 years and North Park is by far my favorite. I had an opportunity to buy 3 years ago and found a beautiful craftsman home on a quiet street and in a very safe part of town. It’s central in SD, close to downtown, close to Coronado, Mission bay, the Zoo, Balboa Park, Museums, Shopping and hiking.
What makes this property unique
There aren’t many nature-themed rental homes as they require continuous upkeep and maintenance. The home is stunning and I hope to give as many people the opportunity to experience it as possible.
