About this property

Lake Sutherland Cabin w/ Dock Access & Kayaks

Adorable Lakefront Hideaway | Deck, Views, Shared

Lake Sutherland Sanctuary: A Rustic Loft Retreat
Embrace the Unplugged, Vintage Cabin Vibe

If you are looking for a sterile, modern hotel with pristine drywall, this isn't it. But if you crave soul, history, and a true Pacific Northwest experience, welcome home.

Escape to the peaceful shores of Lake Sutherland, where mountain views, fresh forest air, and quiet waterfront living meet a century of character. This authentic rustic cabin offers a cozy loft layout, a spacious deck for outdoor dining, and direct access to one of the region’s most beautiful lakes. It is the perfect, beautifully imperfect basecamp for your Olympic Peninsula adventures.

Inside: Character & Coziness
Inside, the cabin wraps you in warm, original wood interiors. It’s full of vintage charm, meaning you’ll find quirks, character, and a layout that feels instantly lived-in and inviting. Large windows bring in natural light and glimpses of the surrounding forest and lake. The living space flows into a simple dining area and kitchen, creating a comfortable place to swap stories after a day of exploring.

The kitchen includes everything you need to prepare hearty meals before heading out for a hike or settling in for a relaxed evening. Note: Toaster oven and microwave, no full sized oven.

The Sleeping Loft
Upstairs, the sleeping loft creates a cozy nest tucked right beneath the historic wood-beamed ceiling. After a day of kayaking, hiking, or exploring the nearby national park, climbing up here feels like retreating to your own private treehouse.

Outside: Pure Pacific Northwest
The spacious deck is the true heart of the property. Enjoy morning coffee with mountain views, grill dinner on the BBQ, or relax in the evening air surrounded by towering evergreens.

Guests are just a short, 450-foot walk down to a shared community dock. From here, you can launch kayaks, swim, or simply take in the peaceful lake views.

What You'll Love
True Vintage Soul: A genuine, century-old cabin atmosphere you can't replicate.

Waterfront Perks: Easy 450-foot walk to a shared lake dock with kayaks available for guest use.

The Great Outdoors: Large outdoor deck with a BBQ, dining seating, and mountain/lake views.

Cozy Loft Sleeping: A classic, rustic loft space that feels like a hidden hideaway.

Prime Location: Minutes from Olympic National Park adventures, tucked in a peaceful lakeside neighborhood.

Important Information (The "Real Nature" Details)
A Note on Our Wild Neighbors: This is an authentic, deep-woods cabin experience. While the cabin is professionally treated and thoroughly cleaned between guests, you are in the heart of nature. You may encounter a spider, a rogue cobweb, or a buzzing insect during your stay. They were here first! If a random bug or a bit of rustic dust ruins your vacation, a modern hotel might be a better fit. If you love the idea of a real, historic wilderness retreat, you will adore it here.

Loft Access: The sleeping loft is accessed via a sturdy, steep ladder (200 lb weight limit).

Max Occupancy: 6 guests.

Heating/Cooling: No air conditioning (open windows provide great natural lake breezes). The wood stove is decorative only and not available for guest use.

Parking: Space for up to 2 vehicles.

House Rules: Strictly no pets, no smoking, and no parties or events.

Dock Access: The community dock is shared and located a short 450 feet from the cabin.

Whether you're kayaking on Lake Sutherland, hiking through Olympic National Park, or unplugging on the deck with a good book, this old soul of a cabin offers a peaceful, grounding base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Book your stay and experience the quiet, unfiltered beauty of lakeside living!

The cabin was not very clean - cobwebs in the windows and bugs on the windowsills and in corners. It has the weirdest mix of styles, 50’s appliances in the kitchen, rustic wood paneling and wood stove, Aztec looking bedding, and strange hindu art in the bedroom. All the furniture looks like it is from the thrift shop. There is no real oven, just a small toaster oven. The sliding door to the deck is broken and you can hardly get it open and closed. The view from the deck is lovely but there are just cheap plastic chairs on the deck so you can’t really sit and enjoy it. The Our kids did enjoy the shared dock with the diving board and the location between Lake crescent and Port Angeles is great.
