Perfect PSU football weekend house! Clean, comfy, & close to everything!

Owner-occupied 3 bed, 1.5 bath, non-smoking home 5 blocks from PSU campus and downtown State College; 2 blocks from game day shuttle. Located in desirable and historic Holmes-Foster neighborhood, we are extremely walkable to downtown restaurants & bars, and PSU campus! The walk to stadium on game days is approx. 2 miles via campus or downtown. Lovely, clean & cozy with 3 season porch, deck, gas grill, and patio. Private parking for 3 cars. Renovated kitchen and full bathroom, new composite decking, new patio area, and new upstairs hardwood flooring and updated paint throughout. 2 queen, 1 full bed. Fantastic for PSU football game weekends!

State College Short Term Rental License #STR22-00038

Rentals require NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of 50% of rate at time of booking and signing of rental agreement. Balance and REFUNDABLE security deposit of $750 required ten days prior to stay. Rates do not include Pennsylvania (6%) or Centre County hotel & occupancy tax (6%), or VRBO/Homeaway website service charges. Check-in time is 5:00pm on Friday. Check-out time is 12:00pm on Sunday.

Great location for campus event and charming house / neighborhood. Excellent communication from owner. Although posting indicates it's an owner-occupied this was our first experience with that for VRBO. For the price charged, it's a little unusual for things like dressers, refrigerators, etc. to be filled with owner stuff. We felt like folks considering should be aware - again especially for price. Separate from that, would definitely recommend for football game weekend!

Home, Sweet Home!

Perfect Place for Fall Football Weekend. Cozy, Clean and Close to Town. Newly Updated Kitchen contained every accessory needed for cooking. Comfy beds with fluffy duvet bedding. Especially enjoyed time at night around the fire pit.

PSU Football Game Magic

Perfect location for a weekend in State College, PA. As a former "townee", I enjoyed walking to The Corner Room, The Creamery, and Beaver Stadium. We also enjoyed a lovely afternoon on the sun-dappled patio watching birds. Lovely home. Well equipped. Fantastic!! Thank you!!

Lovely home, great location

This property is a beautiful house in a great location. You can easily walk to anywhere downtown, as we did for dinner. The hosts were easy to communicate with, and all went smoothly. Quiet, peaceful and comfortable.

Very clean and well appointed.

Very good. I highly recommend this place for comfortable and well appointed place to stay for a football weekend. Walk to stadium if a bit far but always fun and you see the campus from "set to stern" and we got our 10,000 fit bit steps in. The costs of the booking fees took me a bit by surprise.

Graduation weekend success

Our party of 6 slept very comfortably in this gem of a home. Parking for 3 cars, walkable to BJC and downtown and a fully equipped brand new kitchen. Every detail was covered and communicated with. The lovely flowers and wonderful deck was a great background to our grad photos. Our last trip to Penn State will always be memorable because of this fabulous weekend๐Ÿพ

Awesome location for PSU football weekend!

With the game day shuttle just two blocks away, the McCarthyโ€™s home is a perfect spot to stay while in State College. The house was well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

Perfect house for games!

This was my family's second stay at Tim's house and we are hoping to come back next year for another! The house is beautiful, has a great location and is on a beautiful street. While the loss to Mich St. was a huge disappointment, the house stay was not!

Perfect family home for Graduation weekend convenient to town

We stayed with our immediate family for graduation weekend. Most of the dinners/socials surrounding the graduation were in town or the houses surrounding town so the location was ideal. The house had plenty of room for our family of 6 but with only 1 full bath it took a little coordination when getting ready to get out of the house. The enclosed sunroom and deck provided a great space to relax and socialize. I would highly recommend this house when your activities are centered around the restaurants/bars in town and the surrounding off campus housing where many of the seniors live.

Great house & location

We had a group of 5 stay at this property for a football weekend. Everything was perfect and comfortable- and the location is the best. Walking distance to downtown and campus, which was important to our group. The owners were very prompt in communication & thorough with instructions during our stay. I will definitely stay here again for a football weekend next season.

Perfect location!

We planned a reunion for Homecoming with many of us traveling in from all across the country. The house was absolutely perfect for us with an easy walk into town yet in a quiet neighborhood. The owner was great to work with and extremely accommodating. We'll be back!

Perfect Football Weekend!

My family, a few friends and I stayed at the house for the epic Ohio State weekend and couldn't have asked for a greater house to stay in. The location is great, the house is spacious but cozy and very clean. Walking distance to town, only a few blocks from Beaver Ave in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood. Tim was wonderful to work with and very nice guy. Would totally rent from here again. Go Penn State!

Graduation Weekend - "home-style"

Graduation is a family event, so why limit yourself to a hotel lobby when you could be nestled in this charming State College home, minutes from downtown and the PSU campus.... This lovely house was comfortable, clean, conveniently located and the perfect setting for accommodating a family dinner to honor our Penn State Graduate. With 3 bedrooms, sheets/towels provided, a vast first-floor living space, and outdoor patio/deck, we were able to relax and enjoy the entire weekend without being restricted to a stodgy hotel room. Coordination of the rental was effortless and convenient, as the owner was responsive. WE ARE - PENN STATE & WE ARE sure to vacation here again!

Great for Football Weekends

My friends and family enjoyed our stay at this home. It is far enough away so that it is quiet and enjoyable, but at the same time close enough to all of the downtown spots. I would definitely contact the owner again to rent this home for another football weekend.

Great House!

This is a great house! We recently stayed here on 11/1/2013 weekend for the Illinois game. The house was clean and very spatious. We were able to fit 8 people comfortably. Having towels and linens provided was very helpful. Also, the location is convenient and an easy walk to downtown. We look forward to renting here again!

Wonderful Stay!

I was recently here for the PSU/Michigan game. Great Win! Firstly - dealing with payment and booking the house with the owners was easy as can be and I always had a quick response when asking questions. The house is in a perfect location. We ended up walking to the stadium that day as traffic was just too insane. The walk was about 25 min. The house is clean, comfy and has plenty of room. We ended up with about 8 people total and fit just perfectly. The owners provide you with towels and linens which is very helpful and they have a nice binder about everything you could possibly need during your stay. I would absolutely stay here again!

Family of Penn State Grad

My family and I stayed in this lovely home last May over graduation weekend and couldn't have been happier! The house is located on a quiet street within walking distance to everything State College! The rooms were large and comfortable, the screened porch was perfect and the deck was a great place to sit and unwind in the late afternoon. I would definitely recommend renting this home to anyone looking for alternative lodging while visiting State College.

We rent our home for football and other event weekends to responsible groups who will treat it with the care and respect that we do, as the house is our primary residence. We hope you enjoy State College as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

We are owner-occupants who rent our house for only a few weekends per year. It's in a prime location in one of the oldest historic neighborhoods in State College. Our house is well-cared for and we don't mind occasionally loaning it out so alumni can return to enjoy some PSU football and visit their alma mater.
