Hoyllara is a beautiful North Shore gem situated just steps away from the Lake Superior shoreline in Schroeder, Minnesota. This cozy cabin has a modern Scandinavian feel while maintaining much of the classic cabin feel. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the living provide ample natural light and incredible views of Lake Superior.

Hoyllara has two bedrooms and one bathroom with a bonus sleeping room off of the living room. The cabin has a chalet-style layout, meaning the loft bedrooms are both open to the living area below. It's a wonderful choice for a family vacation in the great Northwoods. The recently renovated kitchen is a chef's dream- with stainless steel appliances, a large gas cooktop, and an under-the-countertop microwave. Like the kitchen, the bathroom has been updated with all new fixtures and finishings. In the living room, you will find a woodstove for ambiance and extra heat in the wintertime. The cabin does not have a TV, but the large windows provide ample entertainment from Lake Superior herself.

The cabin, the view, and the location were excellent.the only comment I have is that there was a little debri outside, around the property.other than that, enjoyed our stay. Would stay there again in the future.

Everything was amazing. View was stunning. Lots of wood for fires but just be careful cause we noticed some half alive bees in the wood. Toaster should be replaced in my opinion. Half works. We did get to see and hear loons couple evenings in a row. We had a great time.

Perfection! I was so excited to find this place right on the lake. My kids (12, 9, and 6) absolutely love rocks and water so I thought this would be perfect. And boy did it live up to the expectations. All the kids gave it a 10/10!The views can't be beat. The kitchen was nicely stocked for the few meals we had there. I love that there isn't a TV, so you really relax and soak up the beauty and enjoy time together. The beds were so comfy!!!! I never sleep well anywhere, but here, I slept like a baby! When I got home I actually missed the bed from this cabin.We absolutely will be coming back for another stay!

Great view of Lake Superior from inside and outside the cabin. Loved the indoor wood-burning fireplace and the abundant supply of firewood! Beds and pillows were quite comfortable. Nice kitchen for foodies like myself, but garage-sale cookware could be upgraded. Unfortunately, the host did not provide any outdoor activity gear for fishing, kayaking, marshmallow sticks, etc so we had to buy our own. No shampoo or body wash either, which is inconvenient. I stay in a dozen or so vrbo’s annually and they typically come with everything I could want…all I have to bring is my clothes, so that’s the baseline for my review. When I called the host to ask for some fishing gear, the told me it isn’t provided due to insurance liability reasons, but I’m not buying that as the place has a wood burning fireplace that is way higher liability. The little things matter to me.
