The unit itself worked well for our stay and is located in a great area. It was very clean overall, though there is some general wear and tear and staining in the carpet. The space met our needs, and from a physical standpoint, the property was fine.Unfortunately, the host communication significantly impacted our experience. We did not receive check-in instructions by the 4:00 PM check-in time and were left without access details until well into the evening, after multiple messages and sitting in the parking lot unsure how to proceed. Basic information such as the guidebook, property details, and checkout instructions were never provided, despite being requested more than once.During our stay, responses from the host were consistently delayed or nonexistent. On the day of checkout, the keypad would not lock the door, and we messaged the host for guidance but did not receive a response for over 24 hours. The dryer also did not work, but given the communication issues, it didn’t seem worthwhile to report it, as we would have checked out before receiving a response.While the host did provide a small partial refund, it did not feel commensurate with the amount of time and effort required to obtain basic information throughout the stay.Overall, the property itself has potential, but the lack of timely communication and support from the host detracted significantly from the experience. Will be looking elsewhere for our next visit to Des Moines.
