Absolutely Awesome!!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this vacation - great location, relaxing environment, friendly people and a perfect condo! Everything was well decorated and spotlessly clean - the attention to comfort and making this feel like home was evident in every room. Nick and Marilyn provided great information about the local area; best restaurants, beaches, activities, entertainment and introduced us to some great people staying in the same building that we remain in contact with today. The views from the balcony are both beautiful and entertaining - enjoyed watching the planes take off and the brave tourists that stood behind them on Maho beach. The only negative experience was having to leave!

WONDERFUL!! DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE!

I can not say enough about this property! Marilyn was amazing to work with! We were first time visitors to St. Maarten and she offered us so much useful tips and pointers as to where to go and what to do. The condo was EXACTLY as she said. VERY CLEAN and updated! The views were amazing and the condo perfectly located for us. Everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful whenever we needed it. A grocery store was located right beside the property that had everything that one would need. Several great restaurants were close (the pizza at Driftwood was AWESOME-- just as Marilyn said it was). We rented a car from Hertz right across the street for $29/day just so we could explore the island on our own. It was perfect! I have already recommended to many of my friends that if they ever plan a trip to St. Maarten to definitely go through Marilyn! I can't wait to go back!

A home away from home!

Spent a fantastic week at this beautiful condo. All four of us loved everything about the place. Not a thing overlooked. Nick was great to communicate with and answered any of our questions within minutes. This was our first time in St. Maarten so we had a few! The location is amazing and we just walked everywhere, to the beach, shops and restaurants. We ate dinner out at a different restaurant each night and all seven meals were delicious!! The market downstairs (sooo convenient) was great for breakfast items and was well-stocked in the 'beverage' department. Ice machine was a few steps from our door and I do believe the blender was the most popular appliance😊. I have to admit that I was skeptical about a place next door to an airport, but it was awesome. Watching the planes land and takeoff was incredible and watching those crazy people get blown around in the jet blast was quite entertaining✈️✈️✈️ I think the biggest compliment you could give any holiday destination is that you would return. Without hesitation I can say that Nick and Marilyn's place is one we would certainly love to come back to. It truly is a home away from home.

Perfect Maho Beach Condo

Clean, remodeled, fully equipped condo. Loved all of the little extras that were available like beach chairs, cooler, coffee filters, dish soap, condiments, etc. Kitchen had plenty of dishes, pans, etc. The balcony is large with a nice outdoor table, chairs, and loungers. Great for enjoying breakfast and lunch while watching the planes. The balcony out at the pool area is also a great area to watch planes. Nice touch! Of course going across the street to Maho Beach will give you the full plane/beach experience. So fun for aviation enthusiasts. Never tire of that. It's in a great location with many restaurants/shops/clubs within 2 blocks and a quick 10 minute drive to Simpson Bay. We did not rent a car. The bussing is so easy and convenient. Love that they will drop off and pick up anywhere on the route. We felt safe with all of the security visible. These owners were so attentive. They always answered questions quickly and gave great recommendations. Could not have asked for them or the condo to be any better. THANK YOU! If we have the luxury to return someday, we will definately return to this condo.

Perfect return trip to St. Maarten

This was my 2nd trip to St. Maarten and have to say it was just as good as my first review. The condo at La Terrasse is perfect for a couple or very close friends. I've been all around the island and prefer Maho for its nightlife and easy access to all amenities which eliminates the need for a car. It's only an $6-8 cab ride to an from the airport or you can catch the shuttle for $2 a person only taking about 5 minutes to arrive at La Terrasse. Maho Beach is only a 3 minute walk down the street while Mullet Bay Beach is about 15 minutes walk up the road. Simpson Bay is another nice beach but catching the shuttle or cab is probably your best bet for that. The overall facilities of La Terrasse is wonderful, the pool deck is a wonderful place to relax, people watch, enjoy a drink or just soak up the sun. The building is was very clean and property well maintained. With the market, various restaurants, and shops within walking distance and resort personnel always willing help you flag a cab you don't need a car unless you want to go out on an excursion by yourself to explore the island. My only disappointment with La Terrasse is how few washing machines there were, it is a large building so if it's busy you may find it hard to get some laundry done if you stay for 10+ days like I did. The condo itself is furnished very well with comfortable seating and bedding. I spent many days on the balcony that overlooks the pool deck and Maho Beach (where the planes land), watching the planes come in or the people getting jet blasted by them taking off. The kitchen has modern appliances and is well stocked with dishware, glasses, and utensils. The living room area furniture was clean, comfortable, and perfect to sit down and have a drink or two before strolling up Rhine Rd during the evening. Bedroom furniture was nice and new, the mattress was a memory foam which was very comfortable and makes for a good nights rest. The owners did very well to make this a convenient location, the only thing you need to bring is yourself, clothes, and some personal hygiene items. So overall a wonderful stay with many thanks going to the owners who were very hospitable and went out of their way to ensure you had a good trip by providing a wealth of information about the condo and surrounding areas. If traveling alone or with just 1-2 people I highly recommend this location.

Incredible Stay at Plane to Sea!!!

We just had a great stay at Plane to Sea in Maho. First the condo was beautiful, wonderfully updated, extremely clean and really comfortable, pillows and mattress included! The view is always stunning and breakfast on the patio is the only way to start the day! Very convenient location, grocery store right down the block, restaurants, nightlife, beaches and the pool is in perfect shape. Marilyn and Nick are great hosts in every way, easy to contact and work with and just really nice people with great advice about the island. Hoping we can stay again soon, thanks Nick and Marilyn! P.S. Keith and Mike were amazing neighbors, we hope to catch up on some sleep when we get home :-)

Perfect!

My husband and I had a great time spending Christmas 2015 at your apartment! Everything was perfect! The kitchen is nicely remodeled and definitely fully equipped. The balcony is spacious with a birds eye view of the planes landing at SXM (we saw KLM land!). The location couldn't be better - everything was very convenient. We enjoyed spending time at Mullet Beach (and having lunch at the beach bar, very reasonable), Simpson Bay Beach, Phillipsburg and a day trip to Anguilla! Thanks to Marilyn for the easy booking process - she was very responsive! We look forward to our next trip!

Paradise Found!!!

Well, we're back to reality after spending a wonderful time in your apartment. My husband and I really loved it! It's all about location, location, location! And you have that. We enjoyed many meals on your big terrace, and having drinks while watching the planes land. Beautiful sunsets from the balcony! Your apartment was very comfortable, nicely decorated and well equipped. I loved how you redid the kitchen with a full size stove, plenty of appliances, pots, pans, glassware, cutlery etc. We are already planning our next trip. Can't wait to go again

My husband and I went to St. Maaerten for the first time and had a fabulous and memorable vacation. Rob and Marilyn are truly amazing to deal with. They had all kinds of information available for sight seeing, places to eat and tips for every event. The condo is renovated and done up so nicely ... Marilyn definitely has a flair for making the condo feel like home. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. There's a grocery store right below the condo where we were able to buy our necessities. The beach is right across the street or just a 5 minute walk away. I can't say enough great things about our visit but it was especially nice dealing with Nick and Marilyn. We will be going again and are looking forward to staying at their condo.

Awesome Vacation

My husband and I rented this unit for 11 nights and had a fabulous time from start to finish! We have been to Maho before but only on cruise stops and decided we wanted to stay longer. Marilyn was very helpful in giving all the information about the area, the condo, restaurants and excursions that they have enjoyed. The views are spectacular and we definitely would like to return. The pool and gardens are beautiful and having Maho and Mullet beach so close was very convenient. We utilized the bus to travel to Simpson Bay and Philipsburg and also rented a car for 1 day to travel around the island. The condo has everything you could possible need and having the grocery store so close was excellent as we ate some supper meals on the balcony. Thanks again Marilyn for the use of your condo as it made this years vacation one of the best we have ever had. Looking forward to coming back.

The perfect appartment !!

My daughter and I stayed in this unit for a week. I have already been to St Maarten several times and rented different condos or houses on the island. Last year we also stayed at the same building but different unit but this apartment is by far the best condo I have ever stayed in various countries or places . The owners Nick and Marilyn are extremely accommodating, I felt we know each other for long time. We exchanged emails , shared stories etc. and I feel a very warm connection with them. The condo is very well equipped tastefully decorated , I can tell honestly that nothing was missing what you need for a comfortable vacation, incl. beach towels, chairs suntan lotion etc. The location is also perfect if you don't want to rent a car that's fine too, everything is in walking distance : beaches, restaurants, bars, airport , department store or gift shops. This is a perfect condo for a St Maarten vacation . Tx for Nick and Marilyn.

Beautiful View!!!

Very nice apartment close to the airport. Great location for easy access to both the French and Dutch side. We live on a neighboring island and visit S. Maarten 6 to 8 times a year. This apartment is one of the nicer ones we've stayed in. The owners were very helpful in accommodating our stay.

Looking forward to coming back!

My husband, son and I rented this unit for 2 weeks. We had already been to St. Maarten a few times and had fallen in love with the island. Last year we rented another unit in this same building. Nick and Marilyn's was by far superior to the one we rented last year. They've done a fantastic job making it feel like a home away from home - in fact, my 3 year old still refers to it as his "St. Maarten home"! While we were staying this year, we booked again for next year! A great place, in a great location. Thanks Nick and Marylin!

Best unit in La terrasse

From the first time we communicated with Nick and Marilyn, until we arrived back in the States, they were by far the best owners we have rented from! They are very quick to respond and helpful in so many respects. We were even on the Island for a day (on a cruise) and met them at their property a few months prior to our week long stay. Just wonderful people! The accommodations are as advertised. There is really nothing that you will need that they haven't thought of. It is the perfect location on the island. We didn't even make our way over to the East side of the island at all. We spent the entire week on the beaches on the west side. While a rental car is not necessary, one will help you get out to Friar's Bay, Baie Rouge, Happy Bay, etc...when you want to avoid the crowds of cruise passengers on the highest volume days. If you need a rental, contact Lesley Bruce at Kenny's Rentals. We've rented from them four times with no problems. We can't say enough good about the Stimac's, their property, and the island. We plan to return next spring!

Every detail that has been outlined on this site, by the owners is factual, there are no hidden suprises for anyone looking to come here for the first time, or many times after (believe me it will happen!) and you will not find better people to deal with than Marilyn and Nick! Best of the Best!

My first trip to SXM was in 1996 when we spent only about :90 minutes on the ground. When the airplane door opened it was a place I wanted to visit for more than :90 minutes and working for the airlines would allow me to return. It was not until 1999 that I spent time on island and have returned once or twice a year. I have stayed in many hotels resorts and time shares on the island including this complex with the Maho listing. This unit is not a unit it is a home! My wife and I felt like we were at home. I have spent many years on the road and more hotel rooms than I can remember... This home away from home was the BEST! Everyone looks for different things in travel and vacation... For this experienced travel couple it more than exceeded our expectations! Location quality comfortable and price point. The owner thought of every detail and and we felt like we were guest in a friend or family home. We have already booked next year and plan to return again in the summer. I tell people who ask about SXM that you can be as involved with people or uninvolved as you wish. If you are the type that wants a meal plan with a wrist band and eat cheeseburgers on vacation go to Mexico or Aruba and be part of the cattle. If you want to explore a safe fun friendly island rich in culture SXM is for you... If you want to feel at home away from home you have found it with this VRBO listing!

First, let me say I know the owners, they are friends of mine and this my second trip to St Maarten. This was the first time that I ever rented a condo and was a little leary at first. Nick and Marilyn took the time to explain the whole process to take some of the trepidation away. The condo was very clean and well set up. They took the time to sit and think about what a traveller would need and made sure that all information was supplied to begin the stay. Furnishings are new and very comfortable. The information letter sent to me was very informative and would help any first time person to St. Maarten get started. The location of the unit was great. There are good restaurants within a couple minute walk. Beaches are very close and the view from early in the morning to later in the evening is spectacular. Market is right downstairs. Access to busses and taxi's is literally right at the front door. I would recommend this unit again and again. Good job, Nick and Marilyn.

Why they chose this property

Location! Location! Location! We love the proximity to the beaches, restaurants, etc. and the view from the balcony is a dream come true. It's amazing to sip our morning coffee on the balcony and see a cruise ship cross our view, or to see a huge KLM 747 land effortlessly over the crowds of Maho beach at Princess Juliana Airport.

What makes this property unique

Did I mention the location? Literally a 5 minute ride from the airport to this slice of heaven. Put your flip flops on and go to dinner, the beach, or the grocery store down below. Guilty about the big dinner? There's tennis courts and a gym to keep you in shape.
