We loved the property in Lakewood. It sat right on the lake with incredibly easy access to the dock and surrounding amenities! The place was clean and fit the description.
House and neighborhood exactly what we were looking for on our weekend trip. Host and neighbors very friendly. House was in great shape and very clean.

Very nice cottage.
The house was clean and convenient. The queen bed was very comfortable. The deck and dock were wonderful. Great central location. Southern Tier and EBC Breweries nearby. The owner was prompt with information and assistance.
Very cute and cozy cottage steps from the water - perfect for the two of us. Property was clean and accurate in the description. Lovely dock and wonderful back porch to watch the sunsets and waterfowl. Very much enjoyed the complimentary snack basket. Leading up yo our trip, the host was very responsive to all my questions. Would stay here again if we ever come back to the lake!
Cozy! Wonderful location! Stop looking, book this!
Just stayed at this property for two weeks and can't wait to return! Perfect place on lake, gorgeous view, so quiet being far away from bridge.
Gorgeous sunsets!! AND your OWN dock! You know how it can be awkward to share a dock with owners or other renters, no worries here, plus chairs at end of dock are super comfy.
Inside is so cozy! Comfy beds, big fluffy towels. Kitchen super well stocked. Completely quiet inside. Lots of power strips everywhere for all your devices!
It's also great to be about 7 minutes away from a huge Wegmans grocery store!
Owners are very responsive and a delight to work with before and during. Friendly but respect your privacy.
So don't delay! Book your stay today!!
This is a cute and cozy cottage directly on the lake. The view is outstanding. My husband was on study leave and the internet connection was fast and reliable. The weather was snowy so can say nothing about the local attractions. Would go back for another study leave on or off season.
My spouse and I loved our long weekend getaway to this cozy and conveniently located lake cottage. Since we were there in off-season, we felt almost secluded — no neighbors were around and at most we saw two fishing boat a day. But still we got to enjoy the glorious views of the lake, the fall colors, and the sunsets. And the lake’s animal life was abundant — including herons, cormorants, gulls, geese, ducks and a solitary mink all making visits!
The house itself is cozy and sweet. It was perfect for the two of us — enough room to relax inside and out when the weather allowed, a well-stocked kitchen to make a few meals ourselves, a comfortable bed, and all the conveniences of home.
The location is also excellent. Lakewood is a pretty little village with an excellent Italian restaurant, Stella, which I highly recommend. (And for the runners out there, I did a scenic 4-mile run straight from the cottage through Lakewood, and could easily have extended it.) We were just a few more minutes from Jamestown and its conveniences and attractions, including the excellent National Comedy Center, where we spent a delightful 3 hours on a rainy morning. Also close by are Panama Scenic Rocks (highly recommended short and scenic hike!) and the Chautauqua Institute, the grounds of which we loved exploring even though nothing was on. Bemus Point is nearby as well, and even the towns at the other end of the lake are not far. We also made a day trip to Erie, PA, and Presque Isle for more hiking along the Erie shore.
The hosts were everything you want from experienced VRBO hosts. Mary Beth left a goody basket for us full of snacks; getting to and into the house was a breeze; directions for everything in the house were clear; the house was immaculate; and when we couldn’t figure out how to get the heater going (it was the pilot light! It works!), her husband called and walked us through the process.
In short, everything is was as expected or above and beyond, and we had a fabulous stay! Would stay here again!
The property was very clean and taken care of. It was well appointed. You will be impressed with the décor and the interior painting.
It was nearly perfect for my son and myself.
The water is right out the back. The property owner was very nice!!
My only criticism is that it has only one bathroom. But it was quite manageable. I hope to come back again for a stay!!!
My 10 year old son and I just got home from a relaxing stay in Lakewood. The house is small, but very clean and well appointed. There is a lovely deck, fire pit area and dock out back. The neighbors were friendly and helpful (even helped us get our fire started on our first night). The sunsets are pretty amazing. The owner was very easy to communicate with.
This was the perfect little place for a peaceful and very clean home base to explore the area: hiking in the Allegany mountains (great trails); awesome walks through Rock City and nearby Panama Rocks; and enjoying the Desi-Lucy and Comedy museums in nearby Jamestown (Both impressive!). Only issue is the low ceiling at the bottom of the stairs...I cleared it fine but Hubby kept forgetting...ouch! Great, clean, quiet retreat with Chautauqua Lake right out the back door!
Thanks for a wonderful getaway in your little yellow cottage. It was close enough to find places to eat or shop nearby. Lovely little town, Lakewood!
Nice quiet surroundings, beautiful view of the lake ..and you can't get much closer to the water. We really enjoyed sitting at the fire pit...except I forgot the marshmallows!
Thanks again for providing a clean , safe environment for us!
Had a great time with my family.
The weather didn’t cooperate during the day but we still enjoyed the dock during the day and fire pit at night. I wish there was a little more room around the fire pit but we still had an excellent time.
I would definitely stay at this property again. Very nice neighborhood.
My wife and I stayed for my birthday weekend and had a great time. This was our second tome renting this house. The backyard is right on the lake. We mostly hung out on the deck, the dock, and in the water. We enjoyed the fire pit at night. The owners were very nice and accommodating.
Loved this super cute lakefront home in Lakewood! The only negative was the choppy lake which is out of our control & because of this we couldn’t dock our boat here. Instead we docked it at Smith Boys Marina nearby. We saw spectacular sunsets nightly from our back deck! A great place to spend some much needed down time with family.

Parking was a little tight.
Overall very nice little cottage. The people next door on either side were very friendly..Other than the lake which was choppy because of the wind everything went fine.

Great sunset views!
We enjoyed our stay at this adorable, spotless cottage. Watching sunsets from the water's edge, enjoying the fire pit in the evenings, grilling out and eating meals on the back patio, fishing off the dock...all wonderful. We took a day trip to Niagara Falls, and also visited Dunkirk lighthouse and beach, 5&20 Brewery, and Panama Rocks Scenic. Our visit coincided with an algae bloom on the lake, so we found a great swimming alternative at a Lake Erie beach in Dunkirk, about 1 hr away.

Super cute!
My boyfriend and I rented the cottage for a long weekend and it was great. Great spot on the lake and very quiet when we were there. Our day trips doing other things ate into our time to spend at the house, but we took advantage of the fire pit at night and loved it. There was a cute little ice cream place in walking distance that we wish we'd had time to try. Next time! The house was very clean and tidy; the bed was very comfortable as well. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Great cottage for a relaxing getaway!
Wonderful little cottage in a great location! We enjoyed our stay and found the cottage to be very clean and comfortable. The owner's were right next door and were very welcoming and happy to answer any questions we had during our stay. The cottage is located in a nice area of the lake and is great for a short walk to the Village of Lakewood and ice cream shops. It was a short convenient drive to the shopping and restaurant district. The cottage itself was very clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. We will be sure to stay again!

About the host
Hosted by Mary Beth Allegretti
Fell in love with this cute cottage that sits right at the water's edge. We love getting to know travelers and hope they like the ambiance as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
This property was chosen because our family has enjoyed many summers on beautiful Lake Chautauqua. The lakefront experience is a relaxing time to enjoy the view, family, water activities as well as biking, walking and the Chautauqua Institute. It is also close to nearby skiing at Holiday Valley or Peak n' Peak.
What makes this property unique
The sunset views from the deck will amaze. Large picturesque windows also allow for beautiful views of the lake.
