"Absolutely beautiful home, best equipped place we have ever stayed! Location could not be better… Literally a five minute walk to everything downtown. Robin was a responsive and gracious hostess, made for a perfect visit." D.A. stayed Aug 2025

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All 5-star reviews.

Carriage House is a charming luxury guesthouse, right in the heart of lively downtown Plymouth just a block from the waterfront and harbor, and the perfect place to stay. Families meeting from across the country will love making this gracious home their base - with days out touring historic sites, ocean beaches, whale watches, nightlife, and trips to Fenway Park, Boston, the Cape, and Newport mansions. It’s always rewarding to have a luxurious, convenient place as your home away from home.

Here's a review from a family which stayed in October:
"This place is incredible! We chose it as a destination for a family vacation and couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. The location is less than 5 minutes walking distance from restaurants and shops, yet tucked away on a private street – we didn't encounter any noise whatsoever. The kitchen was incredible and had the most comprehensive array of cookware spices, coffee, ice maker, 48" Wolf range, wet bar (and more) that I've ever had in a rental home. The entire home, especially the bathrooms, were spotless. There were ample towels, linens, laundry room. Robin is an absolutely wonderful host who was just incredible to book with. I cannot recommend this home highly enough for your next trip to Plymouth, MA. It rates higher than 5 stars!"

FIRST FLOOR: Bright foyer with cheerful star carpet. Large double living room with fireplace and dining area. Top-quality Wolf/SubZero kitchen with bay window seating. Private main-level queen ensuite bedroom with private shower bathroom (a graceful amenity created for the main purpose of accommodating our revered elder guests and those with a few mobility issues. While we are mobility-friendly we are not fully ADA compliant). Charming bathroom/powder room so the main floor private bedroom doesn't have to share its bathroom. And a wraparound farmer's porch for easy outdoor access.

SECOND FLOOR: (Bedroom Queen) Large queen ensuite bedroom with canopy bed, digital TV, wet bar/vanity, and full shower bathroom. (Bedroom Full) Bedroom with a full-size bed. (Bedroom 3 Twins) Spacious bright dormer bedroom with 3 single beds. The upstairs foyer has a Laundry room (we provide laundry supplies) and Another full shower bathroom off the Laundry. Bathrooms have showers (not tubs.)
YARD: Pleasant compact downtown yard with lawn, barbecue area with Weber grill. Wrap-around farmer's porch is a great place to dine or enjoy afternoon shade.

You'll have privacy, a beautiful in-town stay, understated luxury and comfort, central HVAC throughout the home, a classy kitchen (Sub Zero and Wolf state-of-the-art appliances), a spacious living room with fireplace + a fabulous SubZero wet bar/microwave pantry. Breakfast window seat in the kitchen for un-serious dining and checking email via wifi. This home offers four comfortable bedrooms with quality linens. Two of the bedrooms are "en suite" with private bathrooms. The upstairs master even has its own wet bar/morning kitchen for a tad of privacy for a couple (while the grandparents reconnect with the grandkids downstairs). Total renovation gave us 3.5 bathrooms with classic tile showers and granite countertops. And LOCATION...all in a yesteryear home you can rent like a hotel so you can play tourist without getting stuck in a bland boxy hotel room.

Step out your door, and 50 feet away, a few times a year are the charming, old-school street parades at Thanksgiving and Independence Day. A block beyond that is the harbor and whale watching boats, the seasonal Provincetown ferry, excellent seafood eateries, restaurants, fine dining, and fresh-caught seafood to bring home and grill. Historic sites abound, along with walk-to-everything boutiques, antiques, museums, art galleries (not like Provincetown, but we are getting there)!

Prices are based on time of year (off-season/low season/high season, holiday/non-holiday) number of guests, and length of stay (longer stays get lower rates.). OFF SEASON - low rates, please inquire. Also, contact us if you have special needs.

Why they chose this property

Plymouth is history. Plymouth is an important part of America's beginnings. Sometimes you have to look closely to see this history under centuries of urban progress. For example, an impressive mansion hiding under modern "upgrades" and made into offices...a textile mill mostly removed, and now retrofitted as a waterfront restaurant. And this newly renovated luxury guesthouse built as a carriage house in the 1830s, made into a home in 1920, and surviving until now to be reimagined (and almost totally rebuilt) as an exciting luxury Guest House.

What makes this property unique

Walk to historic downtown Plymouth's attractions -2 blocks to whale watch boats and harbor, 4 blocks to Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II, 3 blocks to Brewster Gardens and its lovely park and stream. Walk to restaurants, museums, art galleries, coffee shops and boutiques, antique malls and fancy clothiers: Setting the Space, Plymouth Center for the Arts, monuments, statues, gardens, souvenirs shops, pubs, lobster and clam shacks, gourmet food, a new "gastro pub called The Tasty, and much more that you'll find when you enjoy this lovely, lively town.
