Alpine Ski Haus – Cozy 1925 Log Cabin w/ Hot Tub & Sauna
Step into mountain charm at Alpine Ski Haus. A cozy log cabin built in 1925 with all the rustic feels and modern comforts. Whether you’re here for ski days, summer hikes, or a weekend of pure relaxation, this cabin has you covered. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway.
Tucked among the towering evergreens of Mt. Hood, Alpine Ski Haus feels like a step back in time — a century-old mountain cabin surrounded by peace and evergreen trees. The moment you arrive, you’ll feel that unmistakable sense of calm that only the woods can bring.
Just a 1-hour drive from Portland and 12 minutes from Government Camp, this charming getaway is perfect for a romantic weekend, a peaceful solo retreat, or a fun-filled family vacation.
Inside, the cabin glows with warm log details, and rustic charm. Mornings welcome you with warm cup of coffee in the kitchen while sunlight filters through the trees. Evenings invite you to curl up with a good book, play a board game, or share stories around the cozy living room.
A bedroom on the main floor makes it easy to settle in, while upstairs you’ll find another bedroom and a small loft sitting area adjacent to it — perfect for reading, journaling, or simply relaxing. On the other side, above the living room, is a children’s nook with a small sofa that opens into a single bed — a favorite hideaway for little ones.
Step outside and breathe in the crisp alpine air — the covered hot tub is ready for a peaceful soak beneath a canopy of trees, and the two-person sauna adds a touch of spa-like relaxation to your stay.
Though the cabin was built in 1925, it’s been carefully cared for and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable, restful getaway. Simple, warm, and surrounded by nature
Alpine Ski Haus is your cozy retreat in the woods.

Hi there! 👋 I’m Diego, a longtime Pacific Northwest local and passionate VRBO host since 2014. I love designing beautiful, welcoming spaces where families and friends can connect, unwind, and create lifelong memories. With years of experience, I've learned what makes a stay truly memorable, and I can’t wait to host your next vacation at The Alpine Ski Haus!
Why they chose this property
Our cabin is in the small town of Rhododendron which is part of the Mt Hood corridor area of Mt Hood. We are only 12 minutes to Government Camp and 26 minutes to the top of Timberline. Our neighborhood is surrounded by beautiful evergreen trees and located near the Zig Zag River. We also love that it's only about 1 hour from Portland so it's quick to have a peaceful get-a-way so close to the city. We hope you plan your next stay with us! We know you'll love it here.
What makes this property unique
This cabin was built in 1925. You'll experience the quaint and vintage feel of this cabin the moment you arrive. We have done some nice updates while still keeping the original look and feel of the cabin. You'll also love the private hot tub with skylights so you can enjoy the stars while you relax and enjoy nature all around you.
