Located right on the Roaring Fork River between Aspen and Glenwood Springs, this beautiful river retreat is the perfect place to base your Colorado get away.
This custom home is beautifully appointed and has a relaxed homey feeling. It sits on 2 acres of manicured lawn with trees and flowers. Relax in the hot tub or sit on the spacious deck where you can view the river, the many species of birds, the surrounding mountains, or watch the endless stars above at night. You'll be serenaded by the silvery sounds of the small stream that runs through the property and falls through three small ponds before cascading down a waterfall next to the deck.
Just one mile from Carbondale's cultural center, you can dine, shop, and enjoy the local night life. Only a half a block from the Roaring Fork Bike trail, where you can ride from Glenwood Springs to Aspen, or anywhere in between. You'll be located just 30 miles from Aspen's world renowned ski areas, shopping and night life. Just down the road, you'll find Ski Sunlight with its family friendly atmosphere. Cross country skiing and snow shoeing are also near by. Winter or summer, you can take a dip in the world famous Glenwood Hot Springs Pool. In the summer, endless opportunities for hiking and mountain biking await you in the area.
Out your back door is the Roaring Fork, a Gold Medal fishing river, and great rafting. A few miles away the Frying Pan River beckons with additional opportunities for Gold Medal fishing. The nearby Crystal River offers opportunities for fishing, rafting and family fun.

Beautiful River House

House is a beautiful stay along roaring fork. Everything as advertised and was a perfect getaway spot for all Carbondale and Aspen have to offer. Very quite neighborhood and loved the large deck by river.

Great location, beautiful property

This house has some lovely amenities in a great middle-of-it-all location! We were thrilled to be able to bring our dog along and really enjoyed the hot tub, big kitchen with everything we could want, and comfy beds. Thank you!

Great Experience

The property was very much as advertised, and the owner was extremely responsive. Even though she was on vacation in Europe she responded very quickly to all of our queries. The home was fully appointed with all items necessary for the kitchen and patio and the hot tub was immaculate. Made our stay extremely wonderful.

Beautiful and tranquil home!

We loved staying at this home in Carbondale. Barb was there to meet us and show us around her home. She was very helpful and friendly. The home was an easy drive to Glenwood and Basalt, where we enjoyed many outdoor activities. We loved the location of the house. Very little traffic and close to a nice biking and walking trail. We ate our dinner out on the deck in the evening and I really enjoyed coffee in the mornings watching the birds and squirrels. Beautiful setting. I definitely recommend this home. Thanks again Barb!!

Exceptional home in a fabulous location

It's as lovely as it looks. Just around the corner from the busy intersection of the Glenwood/Aspen/Carbondale intersection is this haven on the Roaring Fork. A truly gorgeous and well-appointed home with a freakin' waterfall off the back deck, which drowns out any highway sound you might think you'd hear. Our puppy spent HOURS napping beside the stream dancing through the yard. The hot tub was refreshing in the evenings, and the kitchen was well appointed enough to please the professional chef in our group. The owner Barb was so friendly and very responsive. Now if I could only live here...

Truly an "oasis!"

We were in Carbondale for my son's wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect! It was great to have a home base that was so welcoming and relaxing at a hectic but fun time! My 90 year old father loved the deck and to be able to sit and just watch the river as well as all the rafters, fishermen and others journey down the river was great! The house too was perfect for us and the layout offered both private and social areas if we desired. The outside areas are amazing both grounds and deck! You will not be disappointed! The house is well taken care of and has so much "character" unlike some homes that may be big and beautiful in the area but lack the personal touch! I highly recommend this home and Barb could not have been more accommodating and helpful! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful property but plan for the heat!

The property was absolutely beautiful, and we loved the back porch and going to sleep to the sound of the river. We were able to ride our bikes to the trail, and fish under the bike trail bridge. Our only caution was that the house is passive solar and does not have AC except for in the master bedroom. The design of the house is really interesting, but we were there in 90+ degree heat in July and had to adjust our plans a bit to avoid the house in the hottest parts of the day. Even after we were able to follow the directions for how to best keep the house cool, 90s outside equaled 80 or 81 inside from about 3-7pm. (The day we checked in it was 85 inside - house obviously hadn't been opened the night before).

Biking Trip in Colorado

The property’s location was great for riding the Rio Grand Trail. Also, very close to the bike shop. People there were very friendly and helpful. The property grounds were lovely and the hot tub was very nice and easy to use. The place could use a deep cleaning to detail window sills, remove mold from showers, and to clean some of the appliances. The blender worked but not kept in a clean condition. We were also left without a cooktop for our entire stay which was a disappointment. We were not able to boil eggs, scramble eggs, fry bacon, or cook oatmeal. One other matter is that I don’t believe the property was accurately described. We were told that there were three full baths when in actuality there were two full baths and a half bath. The housekeeper was very rushed. The place was not ready when we arrived. When one group checks out at 11 am and a new group comes in at 4 pm, there is no way that one housekeeper can do a thorough job of cleaning. She would barely have time to change sheets and put out fresh towels let alone scrubbing showers, sinks, toilets and vacuuming and/or washing floors between guests. Despite these items, we did enjoy our stay.

Awesome Roaring Fork River View

The best feature of the property is the river view. Listening to the roaring of the river is heavenly. We spend most our time outside this time of year in Colorado. Very dog friendly property! Great central location too. Bike shop in close proximity & great biking trails run close too. We keep coming back each year!

This home was beautiful!

We loved being at this property. The home was wonderfully decorated and the landscaping was so pretty. The back patio, hot tub & view of the river was amazing. I didn’t want to leave. Our family would love to come back and stay again in this wonderful home.

Beauty on the Fork!

This house was a wonderful place to stay and relax! It was a great location for fishing, hiking and hiking! Centrally located between Aspen and Hlenwood SpringsWe especially loved the outdoor area with large patio complete with dining area, lounging area, fire pit and hot tub!!

Pictures just don't do it justice !

What a gorgeous home ! The deck out back overlooking the river is gorgeous, I could have lived out there. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and condiments, I highly recommend stopping by the house to see what's there before going to the store. We could not get the TVs to come on and the owner was quick to respond and resolve the issue. The house is secluded but yet close to everything you may need. We will definitely be back !

Unique place to stay, great hot tub, great privacy, close to town, wonderful water features outside plus bear Cubs in the pine tree off the deck. Cons would be cob webs and air conditioning/heat situation.

Carbondale stay

A lovely home right on the river. We enjoyed our stay but were a little warm without AC in June (the listing does specify there is no AC but I didn’t expect the heat we had). We also noted the the kitchen was not as well stocked as we would have liked so maybe bring a few things along if you plan on cooking in the home. Everything else was wonderful—including the location right by the river. The hot tub and the steam shower were excellent.

What a trip!

This was the most perfect house we could have stayed in! So cute and right next to the roaring fork river was just gorgeous! Big kitchen, perfect bedrooms, cute living room, and the little river next to the house made for the perfect white noise. Will definitely be back!

Lovely Setting

This cabin was very spacious, clean and eclectic. It had nice charm and lovely antiques. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The deck was large and had lot's of furniture overlooking the Roaring Fork River. The only downfall was we were disappointed that the river wasn't accessible from the cabin. You would have had to trudge down a rocky hill. It probably could be done but not by our young 4 year old and dog so we choose to drive to the river access. Also, the lovely water feature in the pictures wasn't flowing for the season yet. We were bummed about that. There were two adirondack chairs with a peek at Mount Sopris in the distance and nice views of the river from above! Nice to enjoy coffee in the morning here and happy hour wine in the evening. This cabin was in a neighborhood and had neighbors close by. If you are looking for something more secluded this would not be ideal. All and all it was a nice stay in Mia's Oasis.

Riverside escape

We really enjoyed our time here in Carbondale. The house was clean and orderly and the kitchen fully equipped. The back deck patio views of the Roaring Fork River are nice. The hot tub is great and we saw several deer walking through the yard during our stay. Check-in was slightly different than advertised as the lockbox to hold the keys was already opened, but the keys were resting on the ledge next to the door. If you have small kids, be aware that there are step-downs from the kitchen into the living rooms and the stairs to the top level are a bit steep.

We loved the property. Outdoor deck was beautiful, water features beautiful. Brand new hottub was amazing. Just what we needed quiet and peaceful. Close to town and hiking trail. Thank you! Would definitely stay again.

We built this home in 1982 and lovingly turned it into the oasis it is today. It was remolded in 2007. We raised our two sons in this house and enjoy spending time with our boys and grandkids on the property. I know you too will enjoy your stay at 'Mia's Oasis'

Why they chose this property

Great for Families. The is lots of room both outside and inside. Its a wonderful place just to hang out and enjoy the house and large deck. Sometimes its hard to leave the property.
