BEFORE YOU BOOK PLEASE READ
From November 1- April 15 please be aware that the Utah Department of Transportation and Town of Brighton rules about canyon travel require snow tires (3PMSF) or chains to make it safely up the canyon and to the home. Snow plowing is provided by local vendor and is intermittent. Cottonwood Lodging does not have control over snow plowing. Please plan to check in by 8pm to avoid unplowed roads if it is storming and note that this home can accommodate ONLY 4 vehicles.

Great Western is managed by locally owned and operated property manager Cottonwood Lodging Company where the guest experience is most important. Please reach out for information about the area and other services offered by Cottonwood Lodging.

Modern ski home at the base of Brighton Ski Resort, just a two-minute walk to the lifts. This spacious home has vaulted ceilings on the main floor has stunning views of the Brighton ski area.  Great Western is a favorite among many of our frequent travelers.  Sleeps 4-6.

PARKING: Parking has ever-increasingly become a rare and precious commodity at Brighton. This property boasts the most parking of any of our homes. There is enough parking for three cars in front of the house. The parking beyond the house is utilized for paid parking for resort patrons.

ENTRANCE:

Enter on the lower level into an open entry with ample room for shoes, gear, and other belongings.

MAIN LEVEL:

Living Room- Walk upstairs and find a huge, open living room with vaulted ceilings, deck access, a large sectional couch, and flat-screen TV! Relax on the couch and watch your favorite shows and movies during your downtime from the slopes.

Dining Area- Our full-sized dining table has chairs for 6.

Kitchen- Our well-stocked kitchen supplies all the necessary amenities you need to feed the family! We have a modern electric stove and full-sized fridge, as well as any cooking utensil you can think of, and enough plates/bowls/utensils for all your guests!

Queen Bedrooms (2) - You'll find two queen bedrooms on this level, each beautifully furnished and decorated. The comfortable beds all have warm, quality linens and blankets!

Bathrooms- Two full bathrooms off of each of the queen bedrooms give an extra level of privacy and convenience for our guests. All stocked with towels, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and hair dryers!

BACK DECK/HOT TUB:

NEW LARGER HOT TUB on deck; four person capacity! Fantastic views of Brighton Resort! The lower level outside is blocked off and used for storage for the owner and Cottonwood Lodging.

OWNER LOCKOUT:

Please Note: The downstairs portion of the home is locked off for owner use.

Great Location

Loved our stay at Great Western! Fantastic location, with an easy walk to the lifts at Brighton. Property was extremely well equipped, particularly the kitchen. Would definitely recommend this property.

Family ski vacation

Our family of five had a wonderful four night stay at Brighton. The loft area was perfect for our 9 and 13 year old (ladder access). The massage chair was a favorite. The proximity to the Great Western lift was easy, even for the kids. The property manager team was very communicative every step along the way. We had a great time.

Ski Paradise

Terrific stay, from the pre-stay communication to check out. The location was absolutely amazing. You can ski all the way down to literally across the street. Easy access to bother Solitude and Brighton which we skied both of over three days. Kitchen was super well stocked, hot tub was perfect. In general everything was about as nice as we’ve experienced at a VRBO.

What we wanted

This was the perfect location for our family ski trip to Brighton. It was so close to the resort that we walked to and from everyday, we even went back for lunch! The place was the perfect size for our family of 5. The kids loved the hidden loft area to sleep in (2 mattresses on the floor with a hidden ladder to get there). The entryway was perfect to come in and dump all your gear. The couch was plenty big and the kitchen had everything you needed. If we go back to Brighton we will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful cabin close to lifts

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was spotless and the management is very responsive. We didn’t use the hot tub since it snowed so much while we were there and would have taken a lot of shoveling before we could get to it. The two beds up in the loft area are actually just mattresses. It worked for our 20 something year old kids. An outlet would be nice up there for charging a phone or tablet. Everyone loved the massage chair!

The managers were very quick to respond to questions and very helpful. Be aware that all walkable food sources are closed early on Sundays, but otherwise we had a great time and the location could not have been more convenient for our ski trip. Clean and cozy house. Since check in is 4pm and there is nowhere to park at Brighton or Solitude and nowhere really to go to wait, be aware of getting there too early. The management was kind enough to let us park at the house early so it wasn't a big problem but worth noting.

Great Location for skiing at Brighton!

The location can't be beat for skiing at Brighton! We skied almost to our door and went "home" for lunch each day, which was cheaper and more relaxing than eating at the cafeterias on the mountain! The house has a great foyer for removing boots and storing skis (with a heater for the boots)! The hot tub was nice to have, but only really fits two adults, and needs a new cover. The couches were not very comfortable-they were sagging and you could feel the springs, but the living area has a great layout, and we enjoyed watching movies on the nice TV! The 4 bedrooms were great for 7 people!

Family Ski Trip at Brighton

Great Western was a wonderful place to stay, just a short walk to a lift. There were a few little things that came up with the house, and the owner addressed immediately. The only negative was the couches. At the end of a ski day, we did not have a comfortable place to relax because the couches were broken and sagging, so most everyone sat on the floor. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was great and had everything we needed. We cooked many meals there. I would stay at Great Western again if couches were replaced.

Kitchen has everything reasonable to expect. The massage chair is a high-end one that’s perfect after a long day or when you wake up a little tight. House was clean and well cared for. Somethings to note. The upstairs loft is not adult accessible which has 2 mattresses laying on the ground. Kids 5-15, perfect. The text message service they use is bad. They told me several times they didn’t receive a message I sent. They don’t always follow up like the say. Lastly, they did offer and snow removal for driveway or deck during our stay. Snowed everyday during our visit and driveway just piled up. Walking across driveway was challenging. Unloading and loading car from driveway was not fun. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
