Cozy Atmosphere: Warm up on cold winter nights with a wood-burning stove and enjoy the convenience of a gas BBQ on the back deck.
Stunning Views: Take in the breathtaking, unobstructed views of Mt. Stuart and the valley. Let’s be clear: you don’t get mountain views like ours from a flat road. No, we don’t have A/C. No, we don’t have window screens—because high winds here rip them right off. That’s life in the mountains.
But… if you actually like the outdoors, hiking, and soaking in what nature really has to offer, our cabin will be exactly what you’re looking for.

What a terrific cabin with a magnificent view. We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Everything was as described and the host was very responsive to support a great visit.
This was the second time we have stayed here. The view is breath taking and the cabin is very cozy! Love the location and quiet. Perfect for a weekend get-away.
My family and I enjoyed staying in this cabin, it’s the perfect size for a small family. It’s a little out of the way, but the view is worth it. And the host was nice and responsive. Would definitely stay here again :)
What a great getaway with an amazing view and a tranquil environment to rest and relax. The amenities were excellent. We would certainly stay again. The property owner was accessible and extremely helpful.
Really enjoyed this charming cabin. Nicely decorated, nicely equipped for a quiet relaxing weekend getaway. Views are incredible, host was excellent at communicating and the four of us enjoyed our stay thoroughly. No complaints!!
PERFECT PLACE for our 12th anniversary! The view is amazing! Close enough to town to hit the golf course, but far enough out to enjoy the country. Will habds down stay again!
Great cabin with everything you need, and a perfect view (I mean PERFECT). Be prepared for the trek up the gravel road to get here - just take it slow and you’ll be fine.
Close to town with peace and privacy. Easy check in. Responsive owner. Will stay again!
Lovely and fairly secluded getaway for our anniversary Memorial weekend 2022! The cabin was perfect for a quiet, and romantic anniversary getaway. There were other cabins nearby, but they were far enough away that we hardly noticed them. Our peace was only disturbed for a couple of hours the second day of our stay when there were people riding ATVs or dirt bikes nearby. We had everything we needed for a nice stay. We enjoyed sitting out on the large deck for a morning cuppa and watching the trees sway, and snuggling up in the evening with the crackling fire of the woodstove.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Shauna was very kind in her communication. The cabin itself was great: clean, comfortable, well stocked… and, of course, the views were spectacular. The drive up to the cabin was treacherous….narrow, gravel, steep roads with drop offs into the hundreds of feet. In fairness though, I personally have a height phobia. We were told, by one of areas workman, the modes of transportation in the winter are snow mobiles with all cars being parked at the lower levels. This cabin is easily at 2500 feet elevation! The entrance into the cabin leaves a bit to be desired…only because there are no stairs or safe walkways for coming and going. It’s rugged country up there! Did we enjoy our stay…. definitely! It’s probably more of a paradise for those who love winter sports, however!
Three of my friends and I have been getting together, once a year if we can, to go on adventures near and far. This cabin did not disappoint!
We actually took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up on the wrong side of the mountain :-) BUT our host helped us out and we made it.
Suggestions: Screens on windows so renters can enjoy the nice, cool mountain air cooling down the cabin at night!

Kinda cute, but
The cabin was OK although the TV's wouldn't work, and the loft had very steep steps to get up there. We are both retired and had lots of trouble getting up there. Great views and very quiet. The road up to the cabin was terrible. Very under stated. Along with that, we had to park at the top of the hill and carry all our stuff down 50 yards to the house. For young people that's ok, for us, that's not very good. Very steep and loose gravel.

Thanks for the review—though let’s clear a few things up for future guests:
Yes, the TVs work. They’re Smart TVs (not cable boxes), and the listing clearly states there’s no cable. Satellite doesn’t play nice with the giant trees… which also happen to make the place peaceful and beautiful.
The loft has stairs—because it’s a loft. The listing says it’s not ideal for those with mobility issues… which you mentioned after planning a weekend of creek hiking. Interesting choice!
The road is gravel. Always has been, always will be. We disclosed that in both the listing and our messages. Same with the short walk from the parking spot—about 15-20 yards, not the dramatic 50-yard expedition you described.
You changed to more expensive dates and insisted the price stay the same. I let it slide. You also brought a dog without paying the pet fee. That slid too.
So yes, the cabin is exactly as advertised—cozy, quiet, and ideal for folks who appreciate nature with a touch of adventure. Maybe not the best fit if “roughing it” means room service is running late.
Great little cabin, cute and peaceful . We saw deer and small bucks off the deck in the evening . It has no ac , only fans which is to be expected as it is a cabin, very small bathroom & shower. The water was very hot tho! Could def use a deep cleaning as there was spiders and cob webs and dirt in the windows and seals and corners. If you’re looking for a real cabin in the woods this is it . There’s quite a few other cabins near by so it’s not extremely private but out of all of them this one was in the best spot with a great view . Happy with our stay. .

Not for kids but possibly great couples escape
I went for a quick little get away with a friend and our kids. Wanted to get out of the city and have some outdoors adventures. My first concern was getting in/ out of steep driveway after a climb up the mountain. Glad I have AWD or I wouldn't have made it out. There was no near by trails (clearly pointed out if at all). So we walked on the road which was partly still icy. We wanted to build a bonfire in the pit. Owner emailed and said they don't usually provide that but would let us use some. It was wet and wouldn't light. The oven was too small to properly bake our papa Murphy's. There was No board games and a deck of cards that didn't have a proper deck. The cabin is stunning but not safe for my toddler that could've slipped through the custom railing made out of tree shaped boards. The hot tub was broken. The view was spectacular but no furniture on the deck to enjoy from the outside. Furniture was clean and cozy for a short stay. Over all I wasn't over the moon excited. We had fun but was bummed we didn't get what we anticipated.

Dear Guest,
I'm sorry your experience wasn't as expected for your one night stay at the Picnic Point Cabin. Our property is located at the top of Sky Meadows. Being that far up allows a spectacular view but the terrain is steep as you're in the mountains. I note the steep driveway in my email with the property information for your stay. I also note the hot tub being decommissioned in my rental agreement prior to booking and again in my email. It's also not listed under amenities on our listing nor in our price. I do not provide firewood as it can be purchased in town along with your groceries at Safeway. I do my best to properly describe my rental and did not advertise free firewood. I apologize that the firewood I did offer you was not sufficient enough for your bonfire. It's the only firewood I had available. As for the icy roads, there are a few patches due to the recent snow melt. If only we had more sun to melt those spots away. In regards to the trails; the 100,000 acre L.T. Murray Wildlife Recreation Area borders the community. The L.T.Murray area is one of Washington's most beautiful and scenic preservations and makes for hundreds of miles of mountain trails with outstanding motorized and non-motorized recreation. Four wheel, motorcycle and horse back riding are popular as well as hiking in the spring, summer and fall. In the winter Sky Meadows is a winter wonderland with about 600 miles of connecting groomed snowmobile trail riding right from the cabin. I have a map of the access gates on the fridge. The cabin is quaint and has a small kitchen which is viewable in the pictures. We've had guests cook Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners there before however, it's not a chef's kitchen by any means, but it does the job for a cabin in the woods. The cabin was built in 2004 and was permitted to insure all features met county codes including the railings. Safety is very important to me, especially with children. I've brought my son to this cabin since he was born. If left unattended, I'm sure he could get himself into a bit of mischief. I don't have any board games up there. I will get some as I think its a great idea to have those. I do offer a small selection of DVD's, but no board games. Again, I didn't list this under the amenities as I don't have any board games up there. The cards were left by another renter. I apologize they left an un-proper deck of cards. I hope this info helps and I apologize you didn't enjoy your one night stay at the cabin.

115 degrees and no A/C owner won't meet half way
I emailed owner 2 days before arrival out of concern that heat wave was coming and the property had no A/C. She assured mountains would be cooler. They weren't. Furthermore, no screens on windows and doors to be able to leave them open and get cooler night breeze. After one night of no sleep, we had to leave. Owner response was basically, "too bad."
The nightly rate sounds reasonable but then at checkout there is an additional $200 in "owner fees" on top of cleaning fees and other various charges. In other words, it will be several hundred more than what is listed up front. Bathroom clearly DIY, and shower control keeps turning with no correlation to hot/cold/ off. You have to guess, which resulted in a scald during one shower.
Beds are uncomfortable. Kitchen is tiny and outdated.
Views and deck are beautiful, but the deck off loft bedroom has a ring camera which is kind of creepy.
Road to house is not paved, just gravel. There was no warning about this so beware if you have a rental car.

Hi Heather,
I’m surprised you wrote such a negative review with untrue facts after the email I received from you stating “You have a beautiful cabin”. I’m pretty sure this was a result of me not offering a refund for the weather which was out of my control. I actually tried to reason with you and offered a solution to help but you were adamant about checking out without a refund. So please don’t say I said “too bad” because that’s not true. Check your emails from me. Not once did I say too bad. I was responsive and attempted to offer a solution. I’m curious as to why you stated in an email how “beautiful” our cabin was yet you wrote in your review that it’s outdated, too small, too hot, has gravel roads….you name it-you complained about it. Wow! A true example of someone not getting their way. Like a scoured ex girlfriend. All because I didn’t offer a refund due to the heat?!?! If I offer refunds for weather not being suitable for each guest, I wouldn’t have a vacation rental. That’s truly absurd. Last I checked, I don’t control the weather. Here are a few facts; Our cabin is higher elevation than Snoqualmie Pass so yes, it is 5-10 degrees cooler than the valley. However, during a heatwave I’m sure it’s still hot and we aren’t equipped with A/C since these types of heat waves are rare in our state. The average temperature at our cabin in the summer is between 70-80 degrees. You knew two days before your stay our cabin didn’t have a/c. You could’ve been proactive and brought a portable a/c unit like our other guests did during the heat wave. Also, we do not charge an “owners fee”. So that is completely false. VRBO does have their fees. We have a $59 insurance policy which goes direct to a third party to cover any incidentals vs. you paying a $1000 deposit. But this “$200 owner fee” is false. I can email you a breakdown of the fees which you also received when you booked the cabin. VRBO and myself do not charge fees after a booking. If you didn’t like the fees at the time of booking, then why did you book?! I truly think VRBO should remove this review as it is false and is intended to hurt my business because you checked out after one night due to the heatwave and then expected a refund. And yes, we do have exterior cameras which we keep on when it’s vacant. However, if you were smart you’d see it isn’t facing the deck, it’s facing the driveway and is on the exterior of our cabin which is common for vacation rentals. Your review is slander. Shame on you!
Enjoyed a great long weekend at the property. The place was small, but the perfect size for my wife and I. Was rustic, but comfortable and clean. Views from the deck were almost unreal at times. The stars at night were too numerous to count. We arrived late at night so the drive up the house was a little challenging until we got to know it a little better in the daylight. Directions were great and accurate. We would definitely stay again.
