Villa Gajah is a luxurious 3 bedroom villa, suitable for 6 people. The bedrooms have mosquito nets, one bedroom has an indoor bathroom the other 2 bedrooms an open air bathroom and carved doors. The master bedroom has a super comfortable double bed, the two other rooms have two single beds. We can add an extra bed in one of the bedrooms as per your request, adding Euro 10,- per night on arrival. The lounge has a kitchen and windows on three sides. These can be fully opened, so you can enjoy the view with a fresh breeze. There is air conditioning in the lounge and bedrooms. Satellite TV with international channels and Wi-Fi is available, there is a safe in the villa. Below the house is a large veranda space with a swing bed and loungers and a private pool with built-in loungers.

Our staff will take care of household activities, there is a laundry service at local rates and meals can be enjoyed in our panoramic restaurant. The Sumberkima Hill Restaurant is beautifully located on the northern part of the hill. You have a panoramic view on the bay of Sumberkima and the mountains to the south. The structure of the building is based on an old Javanese Joglo. The interior is a mix of styles, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. An amazing spot to see sunrise and sunset enjoy breakfast lunch or dinner, or simply hang out for a coffee or drink.

Sumberkima is a good base for adventures with the sea and the jungle on our doorstep. It is one of the best places in Bali for diving and snorkelling with Menjangan Island and the Biorock project in Pemuteran. One of the safest places to learn to dive and get your PADI.

You can take a boat and go fishing or snorkelling and explore the small islands and the various bays in the area. We have beautiful coral and fish in the bay of Sumberkima.

You can also trek inland and go on a jungle tour or visit the Barat National Park. Check out some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Bali. A great trip is to go over to Java early in the morning and climb Kawa Ijen, a volcano with amazing scenery and sulfur miners that carry 80 kg buckets with sulfur out of the crater. At night you can see the blue fire and then watch sunrise.

However, simply walking around Sumberkima or using a mountain bike is a perfect way to see this part of Bali. Sumberkima offers a great variety in landscape, rice paddies, jungle, beaches, coconut groves and mangrove. And above all wonderful hospitable friendly people.

The Sumberkima area is one of the places from where Hinduism spread through Bali. You will find some of the oldest and most important temples here like the Pulaki and Melanting temple. But also smaller temples at spectacular locations in the jungle or on the hills. Here you can experience the way the Balinese celebrate their culture and religion away from the tourist crowds. Especially at night the ceremonies at the temples are wonderful and the Balinese people welcome you to participate.

At selected evenings we organize performances by the local dance group. You can also be invited to one of the many ceremonies at peoples homes and participate in a wedding, a 3 months celebration of a new baby, a tooth filing or cremation. The religious calendar of Bali is extensive and you can select dates to experience events like Galungan, Ogoh Ogoh and Nyepi day.

Sumberkima Hill is the perfect place to wind down and restore the batteries. Our food is organic, tasty and healthy. You can have a massage in our spa to relax or to restore joints, bones and muscles. We have a stunning Yoga pavilion at the retreat with amazing views over the bay of Sumberkima and the nature around you.
