About this property

Spacious, bright, oceanfront house on the Blue Hill Peninsula.

Stay comfortably on the Blue Hill Peninsula at this bright, three-bedroom house. Situated on a private road with waterfront along Penobscot Bay, this property offers a quiet place to relax while also being close to the attractions of the mid- and Downeast coast.

The property includes a main house as well as a guest house attached by a covered breezeway. Both houses are connected to a long deck with spectacular water views and a screened porch.

The main house features an open kitchen, dining area, and living room with propane-fired enamel heat stove. It sleeps four in two bedrooms: one bedroom with a king bed and a second bedroom with a queen bed. The queen bedroom includes an en suite half bathroom and both bedrooms can access the full bathroom with shower, clawfoot tub, double sink, and bidet.

The guest house is a few steps away from the main house; it is connected by a covered breezeway and features one bedroom and one children's nook. The bedroom has a queen bed and spectacular view of the water and gardens. The children's nook is open to the hallway and has a low ceiling height that gives it a playhouse-like feel that is perfect for children. It has a wooden play kitchen, blocks, children's books, and other wooden toys. It is equipped with two twin-sized floor beds.

The first floor of the guest house has two rooms. One is a game/exercise space with full-sized ping pong table, treadmill, and other exercise equipment; it has two sliding-glass doors, one opening to the front yard and one to the backyard. The second first-floor room has a television, small refrigerator, lovely views of the water, sliding-glass door to the backyard, a table for games and puzzles, and sofa that converts to a double bed.

The beach, yard, deck, and screened porch offer a variety of places to be outdoors. The open area in the main house provides cozy space to gather inside while the guest house is great for movie-watching, game-playing, and exercise.

This versatile house sleeps six in three conventional bedrooms, and an additional four in a double sofa bed and two movable twin floor beds; the floor beds may be set up in the children's nook or moved to another space, such as parents’ bedroom, according to guests’ needs. The house is perfect for three couples, families with children, two families traveling together, and a number of other guest configurations.

Whether you are relaxing or working, this delightful home offers a quiet and pleasant retreat. Stay in place and rest, enjoy the beach, or admire the flock of sheep in the adjacent field. Or enjoy the small towns, exceptional hiking, and stunning coastlines of the Blue Hill Peninsula and surrounding area.

If you want to stay in a beautifully furnished home with an amazing view, this is it! Gorgeous gardens and a short walk to the beach -be advised, there are stairs down to the beach! Deer came to visit and there were fireflies! I haven’t seen fireflies since I was a childPenobscot is about 20 minutes from grocery stores, lobster rolls and beautiful scenery. My husband and I were celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary and could not have enjoyed ourselves more. Holly and her family were very helpful with restaurant recommendations, local advice and with “manpower” to get kayaks to the beach! We would love nothing more than a return visit!

This was a wonderful rental experience for our family. The house was spacious, clean, and access to the waterfront made for easy walks along the water. It was a peaceful setting in the country that was within driving distance to Acadia and whale watching. My kids have already asked if we can come back!

We are a family of five and live next door to the property.

Why they chose this property

We have been on this land for many decades and are raising our children here. They love spending time in the water and in boats on the shore, playing in the snow in the winter, and tending fruit trees, berries, and an ever-changing menagerie of animals that currently includes sheep, chickens, and ducks.

What makes this property unique

This property is gorgeous. It is quiet and private while also being close to so many wondering things!
