This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay! It’s warm, cozy and so inviting! Paula really took the time to think about every little detail… The beds are very comfortable plenty of linens and supplies… We had privacy and beauty all around us! Highly recommend!

Great place to stay for the weekend! The host was pretty close nearby but gave us a ton of privacy and did not bother us at all. The cabin was clean, tidy, and fully stocked with everything we needed to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the weekend. Cute animals to watch on the property such as squirrels, birds, deer, horses, and even goats! Though it’s a tiny home, there was plenty of space to rest and relax! The host was responsive and kind. Would recommend Shirley’s Place to anyone looking for a cozy getaway.

We found cockroaches and the owner offered a partial refund. She then refused to refund any money and threatened to tow our car because we had planned to spend the night and was not able to take one of the vehicles home after we found the cockroaches. We told her we would be back the next day to get the vehicle. We took pictures of the cockroaches as well.

This guest contacted me at 10:00 PM the evening of her stay claiming my place had roaches. I responded and told her I would come to investigate, the rental is across from my home. The guests were pulling out of the drive before I could even talk to them, leaving one of their cars behind. I did a thorough inspection that evening and could not find any evidence of roaches. The exterminator came a week later, did a thorough inspection before and after spraying and could not find bugs. The exterminator stated the bug she pictured in her review was probably a one off that came in when door was open or on someone's coat or shoes. The guest has clearly attached six pictures of the same bug. After her check out time expired, I contacted the guest and asked her to pick up vehicle or a tow company would be called. After the exterminator report, I declined a partial refund because no bugs were found and she did leave her vehicle on premises overnight. I am not sure what bugs have to do with not taking your vehicle but please make your own determination. To any future guests. We are very meticulous with our cleaning and you can rest assure you will find nothing but a spotless cabin if you decide to rent from us. Please read all the reviews prior to this one for a good honest review of our short term rental.

We love all the wildlife on the property. Everyday we see deer, turkey, squirrel and occasionally fox. Our 40-acre hobby farm gives us peace and quiet after our busy work day.
