About this property
A wonderful, secluded 2 story cabin, deck, fire pit, stocked pond for fishing.
Looking for a way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and create memories with your spouse, friends, or family, this is the place to make this happen. Wonderful cabin located just outside of Paradise, Utah 15 minutes to Logan, Utah and 5 minutes to Hyrum Dam. The cabin has two stories. The main level has a great room with leather couches, fully stocked kitchen, half bath, TV with satellite dish, board games, wood burning fire place, air conditioning, large deck with gorgeous views of pond on property and the Little Bear River Bottoms. Basement level has gas stove, electric heat, two bedrooms, both with very comfortable queen beds, and a full bath. Walking outside you will find a patio with a Weber grill and flat top grill for cooking, a large fire pit, a large lawn area for games including volleyball. There is a one-acre pond for fishing, but no swimming or kayaking. Access is down a gravel road. We recommend 4-wheel or all-wheel drive high-clearance vehicles. The cabin sleeps 4 in two queen beds, but has two long leather couches and a leather love seat couch (extra bedding as well) on the main floor where others could sleep and tents are allowed.
2025 Upgrade: We installed a new water system at the cabin. The kitchen sink now has an osmosis filter and the entire cabin has a new filtration system. The water is clean, safe to drink, and should have no sulfur odor.

This is a great location. It's amazing because you're driving past flat farm fields and then you go down the driveway and it's an almost completely private and sheltered little paradise. We all enjoyed our stay there. The pond was lots of fun, the kids were able to catch lots of fish. There is plenty of space and privacy. You can see lots of horses on the neighboring property and it has pretty views. There are lots of shady areas with hammocks or other comfortable seating to lounge in. If we are ever needing a place to stay in that area again, we would definitely try and stay at this location again.
It was a wonderful couple of nights away with my husband. He loved the fishing pond and caught some fish pretty easily. The view and property were so serene. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful!
We had an amazing time! It was our 2nd stay at the cabin and we plan to come back regularly! The setting is beautiful and it feels secluded and private. The stocked fish pond is a stand out feature!
We traveled to Utah for our son’s graduation from Utah State University, and while Utah is undeniably beautiful, the place we stayed revealed a whole new level of its beauty. What started as a trip to celebrate a huge milestone for our family became something so much more, a reprieve we didn’t even realize we needed. My family made unforgettable memories together, unplugged from the busyness of life, and truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere we were so blessed to find. A quiet pond stocked with bass gave my boys the fishing experience of a lifetime they caught more fish there than they ever had before! Horses grazed through lush green fields surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, creating the kind of peace and beauty that makes you stop and simply take it all in.It was the perfect place for our family to slow down, reconnect, and appreciate God’s incredible creation while celebrating such a special season in our lives.
Very beautiful and relaxing property. The pond was a fun place to fish and the wildlife that visited us daily was wonderful. We would surely plan to return to this wonderful oasis.
Almost Paradise is the very best place to get away from the noise of your busy life and relax with some fishing. Our stay here was hands down some of the most fun we've had in years. We've been here several times before with friends and we can't wait to plan another trip!
This is our 2nd time staying at this lovely cabin. The family and I had an amazing time. We loved the upgrades to the new water filtration system, and the cabin was clean and inviting. We had the best time fishing, star gazing, playing yard games and feeding the horses. We will definitely be returning to have another fun and relaxing little getaway in the near future.
Wonderful property, beautiful and secluded. A little off the beaten path, but worth it. Convenient to Hyrum and Logan. Bruce and family were wonderful to deal with. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat near Logan, you can’t go wrong.

Our stay was awesome. We stayed for 3 nights, 4 days, and loved the property. The large wrap-around patio along with the large outdoor areas, pond, and horses was awesome. The property was very clean and welcoming and all the amenities were awesome for a group of 4 adults. Will stay there again in the future.

Bruce taught at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1972 and labeled disabled in 1982 which ended his dental career. The family moved back home to Paradise, Utah, for family support in raising their five children, ages three to ten. Margie began her teaching career at Mountain Crest High School. They have all grown with families of their own and they still love the cabin and treasure memories they have as they grew.
Why they chose this property
This property was sold from a larger land parcel and did not have road access. In the beginning it had a small pond, an unattended cabin in a rough, weedy area. Bruce and Margie saw the possibilities from the beginning - a place, if developed, which could be an escape from the tense circumstances of everyday life, a place of peace and a return to nature so one could evaluate one's life journey. The ten-acre plot of land was Bruce's way to provide a place to be together and to work together as the family grew. All members of the family worked hard to create, over the years, a beautiful cabin area that it is today.
What makes this property unique
Description from someone who stayed at the cabin in 2019. "I have laid in this hammock for two hours, listening to the water cascading into the pond, to geese honking as they fly up the valley, to Sand Hill Cranes beyond the pond and two wild turkeys, but I don't know where they are. In every direction I look it is absolutely isolated and beautiful. I watched the cows and calves feeding in the pasture, watched all kinds of birds and two large Red-Tailed Hawks circling and landing in a bare branched tree top about one-half block away on the hillside. I've watched the horses behind the fence as they watched me almost as intently as I watched them. No, this is not Nearly Paradise, this is Paradise."
