About this property

Bear Den: Hot Tub + Secluded | Sleeps 8 | Modern

Welcome to Bear Den! The private, modern escape tucked away in the Wardsboro woods. It is incredibly secluded, perfect if you really want to disconnect. I love sitting in the screened-in porch right next to the hot tub or curling up by the fireplace under the skylights. It’s cozy, well-furnished, and feels miles away from everything while still being close to the mountains and resorts.
☀ Mount Snow: 11 min
☀ Stratton Mountain Resort: 17 min
☀ Grout Pond: 15 min
☀ Wilmington Village: 25 min

THE SPACE - HIGHLIGHTS
☀ Private Hot Tub (right next to the screened porch!)
☀ Secluded location in the woods (very private)
☀ Wood-burning fireplace with skylights overhead
☀ Screened-in porch for bug-free relaxing
☀ Coffee Lover’s Setup: Drip, Keurig, French Press, AND Pour Over!

THE VIBE
I call it `Bear Den` because it feels like a cozy hideaway, but it’s actually quite modern and bright. The living room has cathedral ceilings and skylights that let in tons of natural light. My favorite feature is the screened-in porch: it connects the dining area to the hot tub deck, so you can hang out outside without worrying about bugs in the summer.

KITCHEN & DINING
The kitchen is modern but rustic and fully equipped for cooking family meals. I take coffee seriously, so I’ve stocked a drip maker, a Keurig, a French Press, and a Pour Over set - take your pick! The dining table seats 6, plus there are 6 more spots at the breakfast bar.

BEDROOMS & SLEEPING (Sleeps 8)
There are 3 bedrooms, all on the main floor (so no hauling luggage up stairs!).
• Primary Suite (`The Green Room`): King bed, en-suite bath, and a desk if you need to work from home.
• Bedroom 2 (`The Burgundy Room`): A comfortable queen bed.
• Bedroom 3 (`The Blue Room`): This is the bunk room with 2 twin bunk beds (4 twin beds total) - great for kids or friends.

BATHROOMS (2 Total)
• Primary En-suite: Shower only.
• Main Hall Bath: Shared by the other rooms, features a Tub/Shower combo.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS
The house is surrounded by woods, so it feels very private. The deck features the hot tub, and in the summer, there is a fire pit in the backyard for s`mores. (Note: The fire pit gets buried in snow during winter, so it`s a summer-only perk!).

REVIEWS
I just started renting out the place, but this is not my first rodeo. Here are what some past guests at another property had to say:
“Great communication from before our trip to after, very responsive in general.“ - Haley
“Tommy was a great host and very responsive.” - Veronika
“Tommy has gone above and beyond in his offering, service, and communication.” - Greg

GUEST ACCESS
✔ Parking for 8 cars in the driveway
✔ Self-check-in with your own door code
✔ You will have private access to the home and grounds to yourself. Just a heads up: I do have a few closets and the basement utility areas locked off for storage, but the main living spaces are all yours.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
✹ 4WD/AWD is strongly recommended in winter. The roads here are unpaved and there is a slight downhill to the driveway. It gets slippery!
✹ Fireplace: I have a beautiful wood-burning fireplace, but I do not supply firewood. All of the local markets sell, so pick up a few bundles on your way in!
✹ Expect to see local wildlife and the occasional bug. This is Vermont, after all.
✹ No smoking.
✹ Please note that upon booking, I`ll ask you to e-sign a rental agreement and provide ID. By booking, you agree to complete this step immediately post booking or the reservation may be canceled. You may also cancel the booking yourself within 1 hour for a full refund if you do not agree to the terms in the agreement.
✹ No parties or events without prior approval.
✹ PETS: The place is pet friendly! There is a pet fee. Cleaning after pets stay typically takes much longer. If the pet fee isn`t collected automatically when you book, please reach out and we can take care of it. Please clean up after your pet (outside also).
✹ The system will place an automatic `hold` on your credit card for $1,000 as a sort of damage deposit. The hold will be released a week after checkout. It will only be charged if there is any damage or excessive cleaning needed.
✹ Vermont Meals and Rooms tax ID: MRT-11156955

We had a wonderful stay. The owner communicates effectively and wisely. All the tips about being prepared for lack of cell phone possibly was heeded and appreciated. Access was shared with us while we still had cell phone with ample time to prepare. Once at the house you have wifi and it works great! We appreciated the information from the host of the list of surrounding businesses and things to see and do and we used that list to our advantage. The entire place was extremely well equipped, clean, and easily accessible. Loved sipping my coffee on the screened in porch overlooking the woods. Would definitely stay here again. Also, note the bunk beds! These are excellent for kids! There are also games throughout the house (the old fashioned ones, not electronic), a fire pit, a hot tub. Neighborhood was quiet and nice. Loved our stay. Thank you.
