Welcome to "Searenity" - our enchanting bayside retreat and true hidden gem, nestled in the quiet community of Prime Hook Beach. This home offers old-fashioned charm, a relaxed, easygoing feel, and authentic seaside nostalgia, inviting you to truly step back in time and slow down. Set along the tranquil Delaware Bay and bordering the breathtaking Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, it’s located just off Route 1—north of Lewes and Rehoboth—yet feels worlds away from the crowds.
If you’re craving a true escape from traffic, noise, and busy beaches, you’ve found it. Prime Hook is a place where life moves at a gentler pace and nature takes center stage. From the moment you arrive, your stress melts away, replaced by calm and a sense of peace that only a quiet beach can provide.
Start your mornings with spectacular sunrises over the bay as you sip coffee on the screened-in front porch. Beneath the home, you’ll find a perfect shaded retreat where you can enjoy the breeze and peaceful views of the wildlife preserve, complete with a hammock and a picnic table for outdoor gatherings. End your evenings on the rear and side decks overlooking the preserve, enjoying beautiful sunsets while watching eagles soar overhead and herons, egrets, and migratory birds.
The beach is as pure and natural as it gets. Spend your days kayaking, fishing, beachcombing for sea glass and shells, or simply relaxing while dolphins glide past. In the evenings, gather for a beach bonfire under the stars—marshmallows highly encouraged! You may even spot ghost crabs darting across the sand or a horseshoe crab making its way back to the water. With calm bay waters and no lifeguards, this beach is best enjoyed at your own peaceful pace.
The home features 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and—best of all—water views from every room. Beach access is directly in front of the house with sweeping bay views. The fully stocked kitchen includes all utensils, pots, pans, and dishes, along with a washer and dryer for convenience. Outside, enjoy an outdoor shower, gas grill, picnic table and hammock. Bring your fishing pole, crab net, kayak, beach chairs and bikes to fully enjoy everything the area has to offer.
When you’re ready to explore, you’re close to it all: historic Lewes and Milton, tax-free outlet shopping, the Georgetown–Lewes bike trail, the Lewes–Cape May Ferry, Dogfish Head Brewery, Rehoboth’s restaurants and boardwalk, Cape Henlopen State Park, Cape Water Tours & Taxi, Delmarva Discovery Tours, and even Bally’s Dover Casino.

We enjoyed the week at this beautiful home! Pretty beach, steps away & our favorite, the nature preserve! We loved sitting on the deck watching the wonderful birds!
The property was well maintained and adequately furnished
The area is quiet and after a long day visiting the tourist stops it was nice to return to unwind and relax with our family. Our grandson named the home the "Fun House".
Great for families with small children and elderly
The calm bay waters are perfect for children. The neighborhood is very quiet with little to no traffic. The house has many outdoor areas for the family to spread out. Eating crabs on the picnic table under the house was perfect. You could just hose everything down. Lots of great restaurants in Milton and Lewes.
Very nice house at a natural beach. Only thing was the bugs were horrible so bring lots of spray! Also some of the mosquitoes got into the rooms through the window air units. Nice place for a quiet relaxing trip.
This property was perfectly situated. Far from the madding crowd of beach towns, the site built against the edge of the wildlife preserve made it possible to view unimaginable sunsets. The dawn on this quiet stretch of the Delaware bay allowed my family and I to relax and hear the bird songs. I loved it.
This was the first time that we stayed in Prime Hook. The house fit all our needs, the outdoor shower is very rustic but it served its purpose, It was such a relaxing, quite simple place. We loved the perks of being right across from the bay beach.
We also enjoyed the ghost crabs being busy all day, saw dolphins, a sea turtle, and saved a few horseshoe crabs by flipping them over.
We made sure to have a few campfires on the beach which was a perfect way to end our lazy days.
It was an exceptionally good vacation.

House was perfect size for three families with kids. Had pretty much everything we needed. Decks were amazing and on each side of the house so you could see the sun rise by the Ocean and set on the bay. We loved having the screened porch because the mosquitoes were out. The ocean was right across the street which made it easy to transport the kids and equipment. Beds were so comfy! Everyone got great night sleep. Will be coming back!
This is a cozy quiet cottage for a slow and relaxing vacation. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and the numerous birds throughout the sound. Beach had a few unique characteristics: numerous horseshoe crabs, calm small waves, and several nettles(jellyfish) after a very hot and dry week. We had a great time but sharing so no one is surprised by this. We wanted a quiet beach for our small kids to play on and really enjoyed this last week. If you want to be around people, play loud music, or walk on a boardwalk, choose a beach 30 minutes south of here or more.

Beautiful property in a quiet, private development. There was never more than 2 families within sight while on the beach. Gentle waves, they are not knocking you over. Great for children to play in the water! We found some great shells. Beach is not manicured as a public beach is. There is seagrasses, sand coral, and toppled horseshoe crabs at the high tide lines. But, still plenty of clean, soft sand to play in and set up your beach chairs and umbrellas. Overall....Great stay and will definetly return if we are ever in the area again.
What a wonderful place to recharge and reconnect with our family. Direct beach access allowed us to come and go between the house and the beach. Home was well appointed and kitchen was fully stocked with the tools that we needed. We enjoyed surf fishing, catching a variety of fish, shark, and even a sting ray. The surf is calm and shells abound. There are many horseshoe crabs that wash up due to this area being a horseshoe crab sanctuary. Flies can be an issue.
We particularly enjoyed the 3 decks on the home including the large screened front deck. The hammock was a great place to relax with the breeze from the bay keeping you cool. We look forward to visiting again soon!
We were very happy with our stay. The property was clean and well cared for. The view off the back deck was amazing, from the birds feeding and flying to the beautiful sunsets every night of our stay. The memory foam bed was comfortable and there were varying firmness of pillows to choose from. There is plenty of outdoor gathering space but not a large indoor gathering space, so if you're looking to gather around the TV as a large group, this isn't the place for you. Each bedroom has its own TV. The kitchen was well stocked and appliances are clean. The bay beach is natural and quiet--this isn't a groomed beach. It is 100% residential area with very friendly people, but don't come expecting stores, restaurants, etc. The rental agency was very responsive and easy to contact. Our only complaint would be the sticky/tricky door locks! We hope to come again sometime! Thanks so much!
We had a great time at this comfortable place. We slept 6 adults easily, enjoyed the well laid-out and stocked kitchen & had plenty of space to lounge either on the couch, screened-in porch or hammock in the shade.
This house is situated perfectly for a view of the wildlife refuge and the dunes to the beach. We watched the sunsets out on the back porch, and the sunrise from the screened porch.
There are two bedrooms up and two down, with shared bathrooms on each level. There is a picnic table on the side porch from which you can see both views.
We were a little chilly when the weather finally turned Fall-like and could not locate the thermostat, but the house warmed up quickly when we cooked dinner.
The beach is narrow at high-tide but ample and quiet at other times. There are biting flies when the breeze comes from the land-side, but bug spray helped.
We would highly recommend this house & Primehook for a quiet gathering of friends and family. We stayed put and were quite content to enjoy the house, beach, views and each other's company.
This place was amazing! The house very clean and kept well. Kitchen fully stocked with everything needed to cook with coffee pot, kcup machine and toaster. All dishes for cooking and serving.
Master bedroom on 2nd floor had a very comfortable bed and served great as a room for a couple and a small child (as it had a queen and single bed w/ loveseat too). Twin beds in 2nd bedroom upstairs were good. The bedrooms on the lower level (queen in one and full in other) were very firm mattresses, the kind where you dont feel your partner move. Bathrooms were nice and love that the bathroom on the lower level had access from back deck so you could go from rinsing off sand in outside shower right into the bathroom to take a shower and/or change.
The residents were very friendly! The beach was great. beautiful sunrises. Quiet all day with only a few families out at a time. Great change from the crowded beaches and was great for our family with having little ones and not having to worry about losing them in the crowd.
Our only disappointment (but not really) was the area behind the house. We thought we would be able to kayak back there but it is all a beautiful wildlife preserve. So our misunderstanding was our fault but we were still able to enjoy the view with great sunsets and all the birds!
My family and I typically vacation at OBX. This year we wanted to try a different beach that wasn't as far as OBX from where we are located. We found this property and booked it immediately.
The house and communication with the property manager was outstanding. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils and pots/pans.
It's 25 minutes from Rehoboth so we visited the board walk, which was a blast for the kids. They loved FunLand, the arcades, and shops located at the boardwalk. We also visited the town of Lewes which was such a cute town.
The nearest grocery store is 15 mins away. No pizza place would deliver due to the location. So the closest we found was 15-20 mins depending on traffic which wasn't horrible.
The beach is directly across the street which was amazing! The street is a deadens road so there was so traffic and safe enough for our kids to walk across without us. We are used to OBX where there is so much traffic so it's not safe to cross the road without an adult.
The only downfall, which I should have researched with the area was the amount of horseshoe crabs on the beach. I'm not sure if it was because of the storm that passed through before we got there but the beach has so many washed up. There was a ton of seaweed on the beach also. To the right of where we sat there was big rocks so we had to just make sure the kids didn't get to close and hurt themselves on it.
All in all, the property was amazing and we would book again if we ever visited that same area again.
