About this property
Comfortable Passive-Solar 3-Bedroom Earth-Bearmed House In Quiet Area Near U.W.
This comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, solar electric house is located on the north edge of Laramie, nestled into the hillside in a quiet neighborhood with shared open space and paved green-belt trail just up the hill for walking, running or biking. From the top of the hill, you can see the Snowy Range to the west, the Laramie Range to the east, and the mountains of Rocky Mountain National Park to the south. With its 360 degree views, this is a great place for viewing sunsets or sunrises and watching the weather. The xeriscape landscaping looks good year-round. A 2-car garage and driveway provides off-street parking in addition to the two street spaces. Inside, the fully equipped, recently updated kitchen and large dining area provide the opportunity to cook up great meals and save money by dining in. The living room is furnished with a couch, two chairs and a rocker, and has large, south-facing windows for a sunny, warm atmosphere and nice view. Of the three bedrooms, one contains a king size bed and two contain queen size beds. The large guest bathroom with tiled shower and full tub is across the hall mid-way between the two guest bedrooms. The master suite has a comfortable love seat with a lamp for reading and a desk for more serious tasks. The master bath/shower and toilet are separated from the sink area so two people can use the space at the same time. This bedroom also has a large walk-in closet and sliding glass doors out to the small fenced dog kennel. The artwork hung throughout the house is original watercolor by Cheyenne artist Carleen S. Williams (1913-2013). Ames Place is 1.2 miles from the U.W. Art Museum and Arena Auditorium and 1.4 miles from War Memorial Stadium. Albany County Fairgrounds is only 4.5 miles away if you're here for the Jubilee Days rodeo or the Snowy Range Music Festival. This is a great place to stay if you're in Laramie to enjoy cultural events or attend basketball or football games and want a quiet retreat after the excitement.

The host was outstanding and made us feel at home. They were extremely responsive. The property was outstanding, and ee plan on staying there again the next time we visit Laramie.
My family and I had a great time for 3 nights in Laramie at this fabulous home. Theresa was a great hostess and the home fit our needs perfectly. We will definitely plan to stay again!
This was perfect for us with the three bedrooms for 4 adults and two children. After a busy day, we were able to relax and enjoy a movie together (ET), which the grandchildren had never seen. It was nice to lounge in the morning and make breakfast and coffee before another big day at the Geology museum, Volleyball match, and UW football game. Comfortable beds, great layout, clean, easy access to everything, good parking, and very relaxing. Host communication was excellent. The review required us to rate skiing experience, though we did not go skiing. I’m sure it would have been great as we have done that many times at the Snowy Range ski area. We would definitely stay here again.
We have stayed at this house many times, and it is always a pleasure. It is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a comfortable visit to Laramie!
My coworkers and I stayed here during our work trip and it definitely felt like home away from home. Clean, quiet, and spacious! Loved the neighborhood and everything about this place!
We stayed in Laramie for a weekend with our family to view the campus and go to a football game. Perfect location and such a great fully functional kitchen where we made breakfast and lunch. Teresa was wonderful - met us and gave us the tour of the house and also pointers on where to go and things to do. A great stay all around!
The house is comfortable and has a great set up for families, with two bathrooms, a big dining table and great kitchen set up. Located in a quiet neighborhood. The host was really nice and responsive to any questions and needs we had. We will definitely stay there again.
We stayed at Theresa's place for a weekend and it worked perfectly for our extended family. Communication with Theresa was easy and the house perfectly met our needs!

Why they chose this property
Laramie is our favorite town in Wyoming. It is close to mountains and lakes and has a variety of cultural activities. Laramie is also a reasonable distance from Denver for access to an international airport and other big city amenities. We plan to retire to Ames Place. The first time we walked into this house we felt like it was home.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with this house because it is on the edge of town, near open space and has a simple, one-level lay-out and eco-friendly design. We love the earth-bermed style because it stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We like the large, south-facing windows that let in light and warm the house. We are especially impressed with the quiet neighborhood.
