Dunestruck, a three-bedroom, two-bath beach cottage tucked away in the quiet beachside community of Surfside Shores, is a unique vacation home with plenty of charm. Flanked by undeveloped lots to the south and the west, Dunestruck has panoramic views of the beach road and Gulf and enjoys beautiful sunsets and tons of privacy. The home was built in the 1980s but was completely refurnished and redecorated in the summer of 2022, utilizing one-of-a-kind finds from local antique stores, consignment shops, and art galleries.
Dunestruck's layout lends itself well to a family or couple's getaway. The master bedroom includes a comfortable Sealy mattress, ensuite bathroom, and private door to the sun deck. The master bedroom also has two nightstands with bedside lamps, a closet for storing luggage, and a large mid-century modern chest of drawers. Enjoy a private movie night on the 40-inch wall-mounted smart television equipped with complimentary access to YouTube TV. The ensuite bathroom boasts a tub/shower combo, toilet, and large vanity with dual sinks. The private access to the sun deck is located off the eastern side of the bedroom.
The second king bedroom features two nightstands and bedside lamps, in addition to a luxury high-end Saatva mattress and chest of drawers for storing clothes. The third queen bedroom includes a comfortable Zinus foam mattress, a chest of drawers, a closet for storing luggage, a bedside lamp, and a 100-year-old antique "dry sink" that doubles as a large nightstand. All of Dunestruck's bedrooms feature power strips with plenty of plugs and USB ports for charging your electronic devices.
The guest bathroom is located off of the hallway and includes a tub/shower combo with a quaint transom window for extra natural light, a toilet, and a stand-alone vanity. Across the hallway from the bathroom is the laundry closet, equipped with a washer and dryer.
Guests love the open-concept living and dining room, which is lined by a wall of Gulf-facing glass windows and is the ideal spot for gathering together to watch a movie or your favorite sports team. The large sectional sofa, ottoman, and recliner gives everyone has a comfy spot to sit. The wall-mounted 65-inch smart television is equipped with complimentary YouTube TV and a Dolby surround sound system. The dining table can seat up to six and allows you to continue your movie or sports event while eating. The bar at the kitchen island next to the dining table offers seating for two others.
Tucked just off of the dining area, the kitchen features most everything you need to prepare meals at the home and includes a large island with an inset electric range, a prep or bar sink, and storage areas for pots and pans and other items you may need; glass garden window; and Tuscan-inspired chandelier and wood detailing. Small appliances include a toaster, blender, Keurig and drip coffee makers, and more. A built-in pantry under the stairs keeps your groceries neatly organized and out of sight.
One set of stairs leads from the den/dining/entrance to the multi-purpose flex space in the loft area. An upholstered daybed and trundle make this area the ideal hangout or sleeping space for older children and teens, while the antique small dresser and desk allow for clothing storage and a spot to set up a laptop for remote workers. The quaint porthole window adds a little nautical flair to this unique loft.
Dunestruck's centerpiece exterior space is the southern-facing covered porch, furnished with plenty of comfortable rocking chairs and Adirondack loungers, perfect for enjoying the Gulf views and refreshing breezes. The eastern sun deck features outdoor dining at the picnic table and a private entrance to the master bedroom. Underneath the home is an additional covered decking area with a built-in table, Weber grill, and covered parking area.
For each rental reservation, a starter pack of supplies is provided, including: one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one travel-size bottle of dishwashing liquid, two dishwasher pods, two laundry detergent pods, one roll of paper towels, one trash bag per trash can, and a sponge. Multiple drownings and near drownings occur every year. Surf conditions are monitored and communicated daily to the public through a flag system. You may sign up for a daily text detailing current flags and surf conditions by texting "ALBEACHES" to 888777. You may also call 251-968-SURF (7873). Please be aware then when double red flags are posted, the waters are CLOSED to the public and it is illegal to enter the Gulf.
Furthermore, Surfside Shores is located near a wildlife refuge and is home to a wide variety of wild animals, including alligators, poisonous snakes, spiders, and more. Please be cautious of your surroundings, especially when near areas with more vegetation, and always watch your step
