This apartment was much as pictured, and the location cannot be beat. Be warned - it is a fourth floor walk up, with no elevator. I did not find this out until two days before arrival, when it was too late to change anything, since the hosts did not include that detail in the property description. Pluses: it’s very quiet, no one above to stomp around, and lots of light including a skylight in the kitchen. Lots of storage space including a huge closet and a chest of drawers. The queen bed was comfortable, I did not try the sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped for basic cooking. There is a garage next door which might be handy if you drive to the city. It’s a block from the subway and the Museum of Natural History, a ten minute walk across Central Park to the Metropolitan Museum and 5th Avenue. The area has great shopping and restaurants. Management was pretty quick to answer my emails and texts. Minuses: the building itself is rather unprepossessing - the outside stairs were never swept, the door desperately needs painting, and when I arrived in the middle of the night there was a toilet on the doorstep that remained for two days, also an air conditioning unit of some kind that was on the stoop the whole time. In general the public areas were subpar. The steam radiator clanks when it comes on as do all such radiators in NYC, but it stopped after a few minutes every time. Could be a much nicer experience if the owners took better care of the building in general, since the location
