Our family came down and stayed for a few days for Fall Break. The cabin was clean and cozy! Very easy to locate and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the porch swing and the fire pit to make s’mores! The location was perfect! The town has restaurants and shops. It was nice to be away from the busy tourist areas, but was very easy to get to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg! Melody was very sweet and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
Totally enjoyed our stay here, property was just as described, and very quiet location. Great base for day trips, or just relaxing in the porch swing. Host was easy to correspond with, and provided everything we needed. Definitely plan to stay here again if possible!
The Cozy Cottage was everything we had hoped for: Great location near Cades Cove, the giant cave, and great hikes. The place was clean and spacious. A nice home away from home in the Smoky Mountains! The horses out back were fun to watch too.
We went on a babymoon to Melody’s cabin and it was lovely. The cabin was very homey and cozy and had everything we needed! We really enjoyed our stay, and Melody is a great host. Would definitely recommend!
Great place to stay. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood just minutes from Townsend. The Rancher had everything we needed for our stay and the added bonus of some of our favorite food seasonings in the cabinet (it’s the little things). Will definitely keep this as the first place we look at for every trip to the area.
We loved staying in Melody’s quaint cabin. It was far enough away from the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg madness but close enough to hiking in the Smokies that made the location ideal. It had everything we needed and more, including a jacuzzi in the master bedroom. Great place!
Absolutely loved everything about this cabin!! The Christmas decor was such a special touch!! We loved baking cookies and our first Christmas meal together here!! Would definitely return for future stays!! The host was very sweet and considerate!!
We loved staying here! Melody was very attentive, even turning on the lights for us so we wouldn’t come to a dark home. It was close to the attractions but far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing. The horse-themed cottage was comfortable and met our needs.
We absolutely loved our stay. The house was clean and very nice. We had a beautiful view and enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch swing. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. We cant wait until we can come back

A Wonderful Place to Stay
The cabin was quiet, comfortable, and just perfect for our stay near Townsend. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery. The cabin was clean, well taken care of, and had everything we needed for our stay. We found the kitchen to be well-equipped and loved having a washer/dryer. Melody made the check in and out procedures super straightforward. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here.
The cabin is perfect for a smoky mountain vacation. Close to the park and the town of Townsend. It’s out of the tourist zone. The cabin was clean and comfortable with the bonus of a washer and dryer. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful stay! The cabin has everything you need, including a toaster and laundry! It's perfect for 3-4 people who want to explore the Smoky Mountains and avoid busy Gatlinburg.
The bed is super comfy; the sheets are nice to the skin; the pillows are perfect for my neck (and that's not usually the case).
Melody was wonderful and left the lights on so we could find the cabin when we arrived late.
Overall, loved everything about it!

About the host

I have lived in Townsend for 35 years and it is definitely home for me. I grew up on a dairy farm in northwest Wisconsin so I have always enjoyed living in the country. To live in an area as beautiful as the Smokies is a true blessing which I try to never take for granted!
Why they chose this property
I purchased the Rancher cabin in 2007 but managed the renting of it before that. The acre it sits on adjoins my 7 1/2 acres so the location is perfect for me. I love that it has its own setting, yet is close for me to go clean it or show it to guests.
What makes this property unique
The trees surrounding the cabin are outstanding in the spring - blossoms abound! There is a huge redbud tree, weeping cherry and bradford pear trees. In the fall you have the beautiful autumn colors to enjoy and in the summer the vibrant and lush greens. I never tire of the views of Rich Mountain behind and the Chilhowee Mtn. Range in front of the cabin. Sitting on the front porch swing and watching the horses in the small pasture in front of the cabin is so relaxing!
