Olive Hill has been important to the Camerini family for a long time. We are a multi-national clan, now living in Sweden, Italy, Brazil, California, Texas and New York City. We love spending time here, relaxing and recharging. With this new house just completed, our hope is to create a comfortable, modern place, a refuge to relax any time of the year. We welcome you, and hope you will love it too.
Archaia Epidavros is an enduring old village, right in the heart of Ancient Greece and dating far enough back that its height may have been the 4th into the 3rd Century BC, when the town was much larger and extended out into what is now the bay off Yialasi Beach. Swimming and snorkeling among the ancient remains is still fun today. In this century, it's primarily a sleepy little farm village which comes alive in the beautiful spring to fall season when tourists flock to the area to attend performances in the annual Athens Theater Festival, either at the breathtaking 14,000 seat Ancient Theater at Epidavros or the smaller and more intimate ancient theater right in the village. There are dozens of good local restaurants and bars, all sorts of water sports easily available and a half dozen beaches right around town. Numerous outdoor activities available include swimming, snorkeling, diving, sailing and hiking ancient trails. Located on the east coast of the Peloponnese, the village is also close to numerous major tourist sites - Mycenae, Argos, Tyrins, and of course the glamorous nearby town of Nafplion, once a Venetian stronghold and later named the first capital city of Greece. The islands of Spetses, Poros and Hydra are an easy day trip as well.
