Enjoy wraparound porches, private screened balconies off all four upstairs bedrooms, a huge shady backyard beneath a gorgeous angel oak, and an oversized outdoor shower after a day at the beach.

Best of all, you’re close to everything while still enjoying a peaceful, private setting. Walk to Whaley’s, stroll to Beach Access 27, or cruise around Edisto by golf cart.

This house is perfect for your family vacation on Edisto! Beach access 27 is straight down just two blocks. House was clean and spacious. The host has a room of beach supplies you can borrow which was great because my 3 year old needed a life jacket. Thankfully there was one that we were able to use on the trip. The host reached out the first day to say that if we needed anything during our stay to please let them know. The only thing I can say the house needs is a small tv in each bedroom. Several bedrooms had tv but not all of them.

This is a large, conveniently located house with a nice kitchen and three full bathrooms. The house was very clean, well supplied with toiletries, condiments, linen, and towels. Special attractions were the large-screen TV and the iconic tree and campfire ring in the back yard; which due to poor weather we were not able to take full advantage of. Nice touches included the built-in charging ports in lamp fixtures and a well stocked downstairs closet with outdoor recreation equipment. The owner was always forthcoming and helpful with information and instructions. Overall, a very nice place to spend a relaxed week in the paradise which is Edisto Island.

Our family has vacationed on Edisto Island for three generations. In Fall 2025, we finally made our lifelong dream of owning a small piece of paradise here come true. This home was once a mostly forgotten beach house, but after a lot of TLC, we’re excited to welcome guests who appreciate this charming little island as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

You can walk to Whaley's and the beach in just two minutes. A public tennis and pickleball court is located on the street behind the home, and the island’s bike path is easily accessible for exploring by bike. Golf carts are permitted in this area for convenient island cruising. Beach Access 27 off Point Street is one of the best spots nearby, offering parking, bike racks, and space for golf carts.

What makes this property unique

The location of this home on Laroche Street is truly incredible. Tucked away on a quiet, dead-end street, it offers privacy and a safe place for kids to explore and play. The Angel Oak in the backyard is the cherry on top. Each time we visit, we take a photo sitting on the same limbs of the tree—our own version of a height chart—watching our crew grow a little taller right alongside it. It’s become one of those simple traditions that makes this place feel even more special.
