Booked for two nights. Got there first night and there was a bat sleeping there. I immediately abandoned the cabin, let the manager know there was a bat and I left. Never returned. Manager never removed the bat, it’s still there, they claimed they had to wait for wildlife handlers. They only sent a message they had a work order for the bat. Never apologized to me. They see hostile to me when I asked about getting a full refund since I never stayed at the cabin. First they responded by claiming they didn’t handle refunds that I had to call their guest services dept. When I called the guy at guest services (guest disservices?) The guy I spoke too was nasty and accusatory, didn’t apologize, and claimed that they sent me a message on the second day offering to find me another cabin (with two bats in it?). I never saw such a message, so I either missed it or he just lied about it. he suggested it was all my fault because I didn’t say find me another cabin on the second day. I reiterated that I did not stay at the cabin and claimed his manager supervisor would call me. I never got called. This is the most unprofessional treatment I have ever received. Every other time a business has screwed up they have apologized and at least pretended to try to make amends. This is insane.

Vincent,
While I understand that discovering a bat in the cabin was upsetting, I would like to provide some additional context.
Our cabins are located in the Smoky Mountains, where wildlife encounters can occasionally occur despite our best efforts to prevent them. When you reported the bat, we immediately began coordinating with wildlife services, as bats must be removed safely by trained professionals.
Before we were able to complete the service and fully resolve the situation, you chose to end your stay and check out. While we respect that decision, our refund policy does not provide refunds when guests choose to depart before allowing us the opportunity to complete the offered resolution.
We regret that our efforts did not meet your expectations, but it is not accurate to suggest that we failed to respond or offer assistance. Our staff worked to address the situation promptly and professionally from the moment it was reported.
