Escape to Vista Grande, a peaceful, pet-friendly cabin nestled amidst the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy breathtaking views from private decks, relax in the swinging chairs on the covered patio, unwind in the whirlpool tub, and roast s’mores by the fire pit. With hiking, kayaking, and Shenandoah River Outfitters just a stone’s throw away, Vista Grande offers the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Dog friendly so your furry travel companion (2 max) are welcome to join the adventure ($60 flat pet fee per stay - no nightly charges).

This cozy mountain retreat in Luray, comfortably sleeps up to six guests. Enjoy breathtaking mountain views from the dining room deck, kitchen window, and a private bedroom deck - the perfect way to start your morning with coffee and fresh Shenandoah Valley air. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for home-cooked meals, and the outdoor grill makes dining al fresco easy. In the evenings, gather around the backyard fire pit for s’mores and stargazing.

The home is located in a quiet neighborhood  and while the property isn’t fully secluded, the wooded surroundings and nearby vacation homes create a peaceful, private feel.

Traveling with a larger group? Our neighboring property, Acorn Hill, also sleeps six. The homes are separated by a wooded lot—close enough for an easy walk between them, yet spaced far enough apart to enjoy your own privacy

Things to Note

The charming town of Luray and the famous Luray Caverns are 20 mins away. 

Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park (off Hwy 211) is a scenic 25–30 minute drive from the cabin. 

Shenandoah River Outfitters is a walkable distance away (or a 1 minute drive)

Groceries & Essentials: We recommend stopping for groceries before arriving, as the nearest stores are about 12 miles away.

Road Conditions: The slight uphill road leading to Vista Grande is gravel and not state or county maintained. The road can be a little bumpy, so feel free to drive on whichever side is smoother.

Camp fire wood available for purchase ($10 per bundle).

Bath/Shower Info: The tub/shower combo includes a grab bar; however, the higher-than-standard tub height may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

No EV charging is available on-site, and use of indoor or outdoor electrical outlets is not permitted. If you need to charge your vehicle, convenient charging stations can be found in the nearby town of Luray.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights
Dishes cleaned and put away / Place all used towels (bath and kitchen) on bathroom floor (please do not put in bathtub) / Leave slept in beds unmade (do not remove sheets, blankets or bedspread)
If used, turn off baseboard heat, a/c window units / Close doors and windows, but leave any screen door unlocked / Place kitchen trash, to include recyclables, in outside trash can
Leave guest key inside / Lock the front door / Send a text message or message on booking app once you’ve checked out
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please DO NOT use any product that contains bleach, it interacts with the well water in our area and will cause bleach stains on linens
For your comfort, we provide blankets for indoor use only. We kindly ask that they remain inside the home and are not taken outdoors. Thank you!

Perfect Mountain Getaway!

We LOVED our stay here! The house is in a great neighborhood and has epic views off the two little balconies, which really added to the mountain experience! Great communication from the owners made checking in and out a breeze! We'd love to come back here!

The Vista Grande was just what our little family needed for our short get away. The view is worth the lengthy drive away from town. It had everything you needed available. Communication with the hosts was easy and they were readily available if any issues came up. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs to get in touch with nature.

Becky and David are wonderful hosts and will definitely make sure you have everything you need. The cabin was as described, overall very clean and the perfect size for our family and dog. We all really enjoyed our stay. We loved being able to look out and see mountains and my kids loved the hammock chairs!

This place was so wonderful. It had everything we needed and the hammock swings were a huge hit with everyone. I had to alter our plans and the owners were wonderful to work with, very accommodating. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet get away in the mountains!

We spent the weekend with our family coming to Shenandoah for the Good Ol' Boys Fest and decided that a cabin for the weekend would be better than a motel and we were right. We loved the cabin, the view and feeling like we were at home.
