The Space:

Located in a gated beachside community, Sandcastle by the Sea is a family-friendly 6BR/4BA retreat that promises an elevated vacation experience. This brand-new home boasts high-end finishes paired with amazing outdoor space. A private elevator adds convenience to your luxurious stay. Folly Field Beach is three blocks away with rubber pathway access (convenient for wagons, wheelchairs, etc.), bathrooms, and outdoor showers. Rent bikes nearby and explore the beach boardwalk. You also have access to 12 pickleball courts and six tennis courts.



Kick back and relax on the spacious patio, outfitted with an ultra-private pool (heated and covered). Sunbathe on lounge chairs between refreshing swims. Twinkling string lights hang above patio tables; fire up the gas grill and dine alfresco. Stretch out on cushioned furniture and watch shows on the outdoor TV. Enjoy the lush treetop vistas from a second balcony, located off the living area.



Head back inside to unwind in the beautifully-appointed living room, and enjoy comfortable furnishings and a 70' smart TV. Huge 12' sliding glass doors offer abundant natural light. The gourmet kitchen showcases sleek granite countertops, a roomy island, and stainless steel appliances -- including a double oven! A lovely chandelier illuminates the dining table, perfect for great meals and even greater conversation. Kid-friendly extras include a Pack 'n Play with a 3' mattress, high chair, booster seat, umbrella stroller, ping-pong table, and kids' beach gear (toys, cart, chairs, umbrella). Complimentary WiFi and a washer/dryer are provided.



This home sleeps 18 guests in six bedrooms, each with a smart TV. Sweet dreams await in the primary suite, detailed with a king bed and a private balcony. The spa-like en-suite bath boasts a walk-in shower with a rain showerhead, a double vanity, and plush robes. The second suite includes a king bed and en-suite bath with a walk-in shower. The third bedroom has a king bed, while the fourth bedroom includes a queen bed as well as an en-suite bath equipped with a tub/shower combination. (This bath is also accessible from the hallway.) The fifth bedroom holds two queen beds as well as a peaceful reading nook with armchairs. The surf-themed sixth bedroom has two full-over-full bunk beds, two twin trundles, an air hockey table, toys, and more games. The guest bath is configured with a walk-in shower.

Family beach getaway

Beautiful and spacious family vacation rental. Convenient location, close to beach and restaurants. Covered pool, was a definite plus. All bedrooms had TVs which was very nice. Enjoyed our stay in this great vacation house in Hilton head!

Perfect Accommodations

THANK you for the elevator. We loved the short, direct walking trail to the beach, restaurant and children activities (arcade and mini golf just next door). Appreciate the FULLY equiped kitchen and televisions in every room, including poolside. Loved the covered pool area and an operating grill. The home was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

Family Vacation

This home was great for our family vacation. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils and small appliances. The bathrooms were great; they provided plenty of towels and travel sized toiletries. No beach towels so bring your own. Overall this home was a perfect fit for our needs and it was even a little above our expectations on what was provided to make our vacation enjoyable.

Awesome weekend even when chilly

We celebrated our mother's birthday in January. The ages ranged from 13 to 80. Everyone found something to enjoy. Close to the beach. Close to arcade, and a trip to Savannah for a day.

Inaccurate Amenities

Home is beautiful but the broken appliances made for a delayed stay. Once the appliances are repaired or replaced, it will make for a perfect quick stay. Everything is in walking distance and the kids were able to roam safely in the area and the beach was a short walk.

Beautiful House

The house is gorgeous! Family had a great time. The construction going on in the neighborhood would have been nice to know. The location is not as close to the beach as we thought. But overall a fun time for our family.

What a week!

While we had a few hiccups with the property- pool tv accessing the wifi, microwave not working, and slow dryer... the management team was "johnny on the spot" with all the repairs. The service was fantastic! The overall home features were great to accommodate our large group. The elevator was a lovely plus and the home ambiance was perfect for our beach vibe. We will definitely book with Vacasa again!

Great Family House

We spent Thanksgiving at this house. The house was very nice and well cared for and we had a great trip. Even though it got cold during the stay, the family enjoyed the heated pool. Sunsets at the beach were awesome! The management company was very responsive to our one complaint, which turned out to be basically a user error. I would have given a 5 except for one issue - the water pressure. It was really poor - enough to affect toilet flushing and showers.

Bring your own Kitchen utensils with you!

The house is .5 mile from the beach...on a path that is very walkable...but very sunny. The house is lovely, but the kitchen is ill-equipped. No bottle opener, vegetable peeler, etc., and knives not useable....bring your own! Gas grill was not working and was finally replaced on Thursday of our week stay and dumped in garage, not connected....so we did not have access to an outdoor grill all week. Pool very small but nice for kids...house cam with beach chairs but no pool noodles or toys...we bought our own and left them. Whoever owns this house needs to consistently check in and update household items. And bring your own beach towels...none provided.

Regarding the grill, it has since been replaced. The previous grill had issues with the burners, and the owner attempted to fix it by replacing them with the wrong parts, which unfortunately delayed its use during your stay. We appreciate your understanding as this was being resolved. We also noticed that no tickets were opened about the kitchen items during your stay. Had these concerns been reported, we would have been happy to address them promptly to improve your experience. To ensure everything is properly stocked and in working order, an inventory of the kitchen is scheduled for 7/12 during a visit to the home. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope you’ll consider staying with us again. We’re committed to making your next visit more comfortable and enjoyable.

60th birthday gathering

This home was beautifully decorated and in a great location. It was fully stocked with everything you needed. Biggest issue was with the communication with management. We were given the wrong code to enter the house and there seemed to be a delay with them responding back to us. I think it was an automated response until they connected to a live person. Coffee makers didn’t work, no extra kitchen garbage bags, pool wasn’t heated (we did get a refund) . We never got a response back from them when we mentioned the above issues. That was frustrating.

The home is beautiful and plenty large enough for our family. Live the large kitchen table, the elevator was a nice added bonus, as well as the counter-top ice maker. The home was not as clean as we would have hoped. The floors, baseboards, and return air vents were dirty. Many of the dishes were put away dirty and had to be rewashed. We contacted VACASA regarding a couple broken items and their communication was not great. Would have been nice to be able to reach out to the owner directly. The community was nice and close to everything. If we return we would likely stay in the community again, just maybe a different home due to cleanliness and communication.

Great stay in Hilton Head!

This house was very clean upon arrival. We had a total of 10 adults and 5 children, ages 7-12. This house was spacious and fit our group very well. If it had an extra bathroom, or even a half bath, it would have been perfect! Regardless, it worked and was very well equipped as well. The pool area is a little small, but worked. It was nice for the kids to enjoy the pool without having to make sure sunscreen was always applied. It was a great way to cool off and to be out of the sun as it began to get very warm at week's end. The elevator was very helpful, as we had a handicapped person with us. It was also convenient for luggage when arriving and packing up for departure. The only complaint we had, was the trash pickup details and amount of trash cans available. When we arrived on Saturday, 2 of 3 trash cans were full outside. We didn't think too much of it as the rental info says trash pickup is on Mondays. We rolled all 3 cans to the street on Sunday night. Monday and Tuesday passed, still with overflowing cans. After contacting rental company, we were told trash pickup was on Wednesday. No sweat. They did come on Wednesday. I would suggest more, or larger trash bins. We cooked in 6 of 7 nights, and for a house of 16, you can imagine the amount of trash we had. Because of the amount of trash in the bins when we arrived, we had an overflow of trash that wouldn't fit until after the Wednesday pick up. And by the end of our stay, the bins were full again. I'm sure this will irritate the next renters as well. Otherwise, this house was great and we had a great week, and would highly recommend this rental!

Good, but had a few things

it was overall good. the only thing I would call out is that the dishwasher was gross from the previous people so we had to run it a few times to clean it out. the toilets kept getting clogged, the water pressure was weak, and the 2nd floor bathtub was clogged. other than that, it was clean enough room wise
