About the host
Hosted by Nicole
Aloha! Having lived-in and loved both boondocks and urban jungles, I dig a myriad of places and walks of life. As a fourth-generation daughter of a hard-working + fun-loving west-coast ranching family, and with a diversity of experience in art/design/tourism/hospitality, I've got a real stoke to explore earth's wonders *and* share my cozy authentically western home.
Why they chose this property
Northside Livingston is eclectic, full of historic architecture, family-friendly, and lovely. Right here, we've got a great museum, a historic rail yard, wide open space and wildlife, fantastic views of Livingston Peak, nice neighbors, and very cool gardens. We're just across the tracks (a short but sweet walk or bike ride away) from the fancier and busier downtown area, where you can catch great live music, excellent food and drink, Calamity Jane's old stomping grounds, wild western history, and all kinds of local fare at art galleries, book shops, vintage stores, etc. Just another short but sweet jaunt past downtown is where the mighty Yellowstone River flows through town.
Just outta town lies a plethora of magnificent public land. The mighty Yellowstone River, the longest free-flowing river in the lower 48, flows through town. A mellow river float through Paradise Valley is absolutely awe-inspiring and life-changing. There are dozens of great nearby fishing access sites. One of the best music venues in the west, Pine Creek Lodge, is just 12 miles south of the Casita. Further south in Paradise Valley, you might wanna check out the Old Saloon and Livery Stable, Follow Yer Nose BBQ, Wildflour Bakery and Cafe, Chico Hot Springs, or Yellowstone Hot Springs. You can mingle with some grizzlies and rockhound in Tom Miner Basin, up from the valley in the Gallatin Mountains. Holding down the fort to the east of Paradise Valley soars the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, one of the largest contiguous areas of land and peaks above 10,000 feet in the United States. The north entrance to Yellowstone National Park is about 60 miles south of Livingston, and Grand Teton National Park is just south of Yellowstone NP. White Sulphur Springs is about 70 miles north, through the beautiful Shields and Smith River Valleys. Bozeman, with it's big city amenities, university, and international airport, sprawls right up to about 30 miles west of Livingston.
